Look at my user name. The clay has no right to question the Potter, but I need to know if I'm so horrible, utterly wretched. I never got an answer but I feel God's love. His grace sustains me. Amen.

Thank you

It's good to unburdened your heart to God in this way.

He may not answer, for various reasons of His own. Silence does not mean you have done anything wrong to ask.

The Psalms are full of questions for God, often the writer is in anguish. I recommend you re-read some of them.

Peace and blessings to you.

Thanks for reminding me about this, I will work on it

He may not answer you as you wish, but yes, by all means seek reasons and truth in your prayers. Just remember that His will and knowledge and purposes are always good and right, so not getting a clear answer, or the answer you want, should not lead you to doubting him. Ask him to give you the clarity, insight, and knowledge that you need to understand his will, and to give you the strength and faith to trust him until he chooses to give you that clarity, insight, and knowledge, and then glorify him and praise him when he does.

Amen, thank you

Yes, it is okay to ask why. However, that doesn't mean we would understand the answer. A first grader doesn't understand long division, and there are spiritual issues we don't understand, yet.

Thank you

There is nothing wrong with asking why so you can better understand His actions in your life, but be ready to wait a long time before you see His reasons flourish before your eyes.  Not every answer comes through scripture or verbally, sometimes is comes from other means when you follow His way.

Amen, thank you

Our God is a loving Father; full of grace and compassion. You can safely ask Him whatever you like. And we can trust Him to provide us with whatever answer is in our best interest.

Amen Tristen, thank you

If the apprehension is because you feel upset with God... He is aware of it already. And I believe God desires openness and honesty, which all healthy relationships are based on. The others here have all answered well though, and I won't parrot too much further.

Amen, thank you

Yes its okay to ask why, But He might answer, "because it is my will for your life." and offer nothing else

We must know that God has our very best in heart, and while we may not see it at the time, walking through valleys at times, and sometimes on the mountain top...it is the very best to be for our life.

Matthew 6:

8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
