"In a house there are vessels of honor, and vessels of dishonor, if a man cleanse himself from dishonor he shall be a vessel unto honor." 2 Timothy 2:20-21 "How can a man cleanse his way? By taking heed unto the word of God." Psalm 119:9 "For faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God" Romans 10:17 "God called you by our good news.. weather by word of mouth or by letter." 2 Thess 2:14-15 Thereby we understand that the sincere preaching of the gospel is a calling from God to all who hear. The Holy Spirit is not received before one hears and believes the gospel. The scripture is clear that a person receives the Spirit upon belief of the gospel: Ephesians 1:13, Galatians 3:2.
