I was told by a " Christian" full gospel ( Pentecostal) lady in my neighborhood,  that migraines are demonic ... just curious if ANY one has ever been told this (?)

Mine started with night sweats, hot flashes, all the old lady symptoms... as a Christian,  ( Baptist) our doctrine says a Christian CAN NOT be possessed ( oppressed...yes)

Thanks

I would not worry about migraines being demonic.   Demons exist, but migraines are not their trademark.

A person born again and saved is already indwelled by the Holy Spirit.  Imagine the look on a demon's face when they try to indwell a person, but instead they run into God who is already there.  :)

Migraines definitely are not demonic. I used to have migraines. They are a medical condition in the brain. It is wise to see a physician regarding migraines.

Don't listen to her. Migraines are a well-known medical condition. If you have truly received Christ as Lord and Savior, then the Holy Spirit dwells within you. No demon can come into you while He is there!

The real issue is: can demons cause disease? Because we know that migraines are a perfectly 'normal' type of headache, and the tendency to get migraines is genetic.

There are some people who believe that all illnesses are caused by demons - not just migraines, but asthma, cancer, etc, etc. Are they correct? I don't think so. I think it's part of a temptation to blame everything on Satan, and a desire to turn every problem into a spiritual warfare issue.

It's true that in the gospels there are a few instances of people being exorcised by Jesus and being healed as a result - of epilepsy (Mark 9:18-27) and deaf-mutism (Matthew 12:22,23). But these were exceptional cases - the vast majority of sick people were healed by Jesus, not exorcised!

There are normal headaches and then there are migraines.  My migraines affect my vision.  I'll see a distortion in the periphery of my field of view.  This occurs before I feel any pressure in my head.  My wife's first migraine happened while driving and she completely lost vision in her left eye.  Both of us are Christians and have been for 40 years.

We live in a fallen world but the God inside us is more powerful than any demonic force.  Believers fear not, God is in charge.

(Romans 10:8)  But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);
(Romans 10:9)  because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  [ESV]

The idea that migraines are demonic is ridiculous. I get migraines when my blood sugar gets too low. In other words, I get migraines when I don't eat enough.

Well, what I can say is that all disease ensues the sin (see Isaiah 33:24; 53:4-6).
