If you mean, "Does it say this anywhere in the Bible?" then the answer is NO.

But if you mean, "Is this compatible with what the Bible says?" then I think the answer is YES. Because the 'narrow gate' is Jesus Himself (John 10:7) and is a 'gate of righteousness' (Psalm 118:19,20). We can go through it only because Jesus has opened the way for us.

There is a difference between saying the door is open and the door is wide open. Don't you think?

Title of a sermon on Luke 13:22-35. 'Entering the Narrow Door (Which Jesus Holds Wide Open)'. The pastor repeated the sentence 'Jesus holds the narrow gate wide open' twice in the sermon. I spoke to him about and he insisted that it is biblical. Which why I came here to ask people's opinion.

I believe the statement is true for those who obey the Lord.

[1] "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber;
[2] but he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
[3] To him the gatekeeper opens; the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. John 10:1-3 RSV

[13] "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
[14] For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Matthew 7:13-14 RSV

I don't.

When people spend time reading and studying the Bible, they come up with visual ideas to share with others who may need help to understand abstract concepts, and this one seems to be a truthful one. He just emphasises the door being wide open, to illustrate how much Jesus wants us to choose that gate. It's not like he said: "The door is narrow but it will be enlarged by a wrecking ball".

I hope that sermon touched many to choose the narrow gate that Jesus holds wide open.

If I'm clothed with the righteousness of Christ, then the door is wide open for me - I don't expect to have to squeeze through!

The narrow gate is only open for those born again true believers in Jesus Christ and not easy to go through. The gate is wide open for those who are not believers and many will go through it.
