I mean, the word 'virus' was convoluted to mean something that the Microsoft Operating system under smirky, jerky, irky Bill Gates got. And that word was "hijacked" to mean malware for that operating system in a similar manner that "gay" was hijacked to mean homosexual and not happy. But with this disease, when people hear the word "virus" now, they think of illness just like in the olden days 50 years ago! LOL

Our church is growing again and is planing another building project. We now meet in a huge carpeted gymnasium which doubles as a play area that is also partitioned for class rooms during the week.. We will soon be building a sanctuary as well since our school is also expanding and growing. More Sunday school space is needed as well. We are bursting at the seams. Four portable buildings have been moved onto the property and it is not enough. We normally baptize outside but do to the freezing temperatures we put a watering trough in the sanctuary and baptized in that! lol. Hopefully they will think to include an indoor baptismal in the new sanctuary. There is also a fresh spirit of rejoicing. God must be doing it because no one really knows what is happening or why. It is all very strange. The world around us is crumbling, people are dropping dead of covid, and our church is rejoicing; it is a bright light in the darkness. 1

In truth, the history of the computer virus dates back about forty years. The modern virus, which spreads over the internet and across networks, really took off in the 80’s and 90’s, but developers and programmers have been experimenting with viruses in closed environments since the early 1970’s. The very first virus was the Creeper. The Creeper wasn’t as harmful as today’s viruses, it just displayed a message reading “I’m the creeper, catch me if you can!” The virus was detected on the ARPANET, a sort of proto-Internet. Creeper was written as an experiment by Bob Thomas of BBN Technologies back in 1971. Thomas just wanted to see what would happen with a self-replicating program, infecting the TENEX operating system. The modern virus really took off in the 1990’s with America Online and the worldwide web. Here, self-replicating viruses had global access for the first time, and best of all, the average computer user was no longer as computer-savvy as they had been in the 1970’s and 1980’s. It was the perfect breeding ground for viruses. Today, there are a few hundred specific strains of viruses and malware, with millions of variations. Viruses have come a long way since the Creeper, and so have the counter-measures just case anyone was wondering

It is a good news day the Lord has made. I can feel your excitement. Praise God for his faithfulness. How neat it is to be a part of and witness the birth of a child of God..... Thanks for the very uplifting news.
