There are about 127 miracles listed in the Bible.  A miracle is something that happens in defiance of natural law; an ax head floating in the water, water changing to wine, dead people returning to life etc.  Some may think that believers are poorly educated to believe that such things could have actually happened.  In fact, it is our understanding of natural law that reaffirms our faith.  We know a man couldn't walk on water in the natural world.  However, we also know that this world is a construction of the Creator whose will supersedes natural law.  We know that our Lord could reverse the spin of the earth if He so desired, and could do so without consequence.  We KNOW that Jesus is the son of God and that He was raised from the dead first because we believed it and then because the Holy Spirit confirmed it.  This is not scientific.  However the creation serves the will of the Creator, not vice versa.

Indeed He is.  Wise men still seek Him.

It amuses me when I read about people putting limitations on God, as if God could not have created the world in six days but had to rely on evolution and millions of years to accomplish what we know He did simply by speaking the world into existence.  They point to isotopes with half lives of millions of years and say it proves great ages when God could create them as easily as taking a breath.  They accuse us of not understanding evolution when we clearly understand it but simply reject it as false doctrine.  We know the word of God is real because our Lord attested that it was so.  We may not always understand it, but God's will, not natural law, is the governing force in the universe.

I began studying the Bible a few years back, focusing on what might be termed "science". It was strange when the Lord showed me the Bible actually contains Einstein's theories of relativity.

If you stand on either the north or south pole, you can only go the other direction.  Thus, north and south meet at the poles.  You can go east around the earth for eternity and never reach a point where you have to go west.  Jesus said as far as the east is from the west, so far will he remove our sins from us.  At the time he said this, the geometry of the earth was known only to a very few people.  In Job we read that God hangs the earth on nothing.  The idea of the planet floating in space was unknown to most people at that time.  Ocean currents are mentioned centuries before they were discovered.  Washing your hands under running water washes away germs far better than a wash basin.  The knowledge of germs came centuries later.  There are many things in the Bible that science has confirmed.  There are many others that stand in stark contrast to the physical laws of our world.  These miracles reveal the omnipotence of the Creator.

Since Einstein's theory of relativity turned out to be incorrect in some ways, I think it would be reading too much into the text to assume that his theory is there.

Most educated people of Jesus' time knew the world was a globe, so it's not surprising that Jesus did, too.

And the Greeks, Phoenicians, and Polynesians had known about ocean currents for centuries earlier.    The Bible is inspired by God.   We don't need these things to support it.

That hinges on how Yom is interpreted, where those days civil days, sidereal days, galactic days or days we can't comprehend for there was no sun on the first couple of days, least til the third.

There was light.  There was a planet in rotation (The evening and the morning were the first day).  We have the finger of God declaring that the creation took six days (Exodus 20:11).  We have the fact that numbered days and days signified by an evening and morning mean a single solar day 100% of the time.  We have the knowledge that a million year day would be followed by a million year night in which every living thing would die.  We have the knowledge that the laws of nature yield to the will of God, and that the son of God, who was actually there and who spoke with Adam personally, attested that the words of Moses were correct.  We have no BIBLICAL reason to doubt the six day creation, and there is NOTHING in the Scriptures to indicate long periods of time.  We also have the Holy Spirit which tells us that every word in the Scriptures are correct and suitable for instruction.

The creation of the sun, moon and stars from the singularity called "light" occurred on day four.

Would you consider Jewish carpenters to be skilled in the current theories of astrophysics?
