On Thursday night (well, very early Friday morning) I was praying...I'd been praying on and off all day (I was having a bad day) and all day I'd been praying over and over for God to help me make sense of everything that was happening and to show me a reason for it (and there was a fair bit of complaining that my friend has everything fall into her lap so easily) and then on Thursday night I was praying about it all again and I just heard something (or someone) say "Wait."

My first thought was that it could be God and I know I can get impatient when it comes to my life so it did seem to fit, especially with what I'd been praying about all day.

It could just be an over active imagination though, I guess.

What do you guys think?

(I hope this makes sense, I couldn't seem to word it very well)

I've heard that voice too :) A lesson in patience, a lesson to accept that sometimes the answer isn't NO it's just WAIT. But as humans sometimes we want everything "yesterday" I know this, because now and again I fall into that trap, but God inevidably snaps me out of it, and he snaps me out of it by teaching me patience.

Love and Blessings,

Angel

So you do think there's more to it than an active imagination?

Just answer two questions for me...ok?

1. When you heard "wait" what was your reaction, your first thought?

2. If you would have heard a person look at you and say "wait" while you were complaining what would your reaction have been?

I know these sound like weird questions, but they will help. Hang with me!

1. My first thought was that it was God.

2. In all honesty, probably "Why? I don't want too!" but there was none of that. It was just sort of "Okay, You're the boss" kinda thing.

My experience with talking with him is not some great booming voice, nor an abundance of words. Short, simple and to the point, but immediate. Sometimes when I am in the middle of asking he answers, or even saying something to someone else.

But my feeling about your conversation is that wait may mean more than you think it does. It may not mean to just sit and wait until the time is right but for you to make that time right, for you to get to a place to make it happen.

and there was a fair bit of complaining that my friend has everything fall into her lap so easily)
She is not you and you only see a small percent of her life. You may need to repent of these thoughts and jeolousy over what you think she has and then maybe the wait will be over?

I actually see (or hear about) pretty much all of her life, we're very close and have been all of our lives.

I do repent regularly. It's not that I'm not happy for her either, I truly am... just impatient about my own life getting started properly, I guess!

But sweetheart, you aren't her, G-d created you entirely different! Even if you were born on the same day, same place , same time, there would be innumerable differences. You can't compare yourself to her, that is a strategy of the enemy! You are you, unique like no one else. You weren't made by a manufacturer, but a creator and he made you unique and with a special mission on this earth to do for him. So don't ever compare yourself to anyone, that will always bring bad not good. Be happy for what your friend has, and rejoice with her. :But know that the L-RD loves you just as much and will do things for you at your pace in the time he already alloted it. His ways are higher than our ways.

Here is something that is very useful

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the L-rd with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, In ALL your ways acknowledge him (include him) , and he will direct your paths.

;)

So true!

When you feel a peace, and like you said "ok your the boss" then I would rejoice that the Lord is telling you to wait. Its great to know He is listening isn't it?

I asked those two question because how we react when God is speaking to us in the middle of a rant and how we would react to a human speaking to us in that rant. I have been there..believe me I know...God told me once "thats what your here for" in the middle of my complaining and bemoaning...and I can honestly say if a "person" would have said that to me I would have not reacted in a kindly way... :) But when He said it (a voice in my head, soft and quiet, glad I heard it over my moaning) I felt an instant peace...because instantly I knew He was right.

Us impatient people only learn patience through practice. And believe me the Lord will send you lots of practice ;) When you start to feel impatience over the way things are going in your life...hand it over to God...just say "ok God, I can wait until you give me an answer, or until you lead me in the direction you want me to go."

Love and Blessings,

Angel

Darkest red, when I read your OP, this passage immediately came to mind:

Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (NKJ says to give you a future and a hope). 12. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will harken unto you.

I think the real question is not whether God said "wait", but rather ask what does He want you to wait for? I have no doubt that He is going to bless you, but in His own time, in His own way, and that part of the blessing is in the patience learned by waiting.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
