Well there is a contradiction actually.

Revelation 15:2   And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

  Revelation 15:3   And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

This is a vision ok?, so what happens in the next few verses?

 Revelation 15:5   And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle  of the testimony in heaven was opened:
 

 Revelation 15:6   And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

 Revelation 15:7   And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

 Revelation 15:8   And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Do you see this?

How can they have gotten victory over the beast when the first angel has not even sounded? The first angel gives the first plague onto those what have received the Mark of the Beast.  They receive sores.

 Revelation 16:2   And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

Please understand this.  Those standing on the sea of glass have overcome Satan already, before the tribulation begins.  That sea of glass shows they are already IN THE INVISIBLE CITY, THE KINGDOM OF GOD.  They are ALIVE, and are shown as already conquered before what is coming.  They are on that sea of truth - being given already the song of Moses and of the Lamb.

That sea of glass represents the Kingdom of God, the truth.  They are standing on the truth.  Throughout the tribulation nothing will touch them, because they are SEALED.  SEALED JUST BEFORE THE TRIBULATION BEGINS.  Not many sealed, only 144,000.

How can this be?  Go back a chapter to Rev 14 and you will see who they are before the Mark of the Beast comes out.  Then go to Rev 7.
