ISRAEL-PALESTINE

ETHIOPIA

In November 2020, the Ethiopian army seized control of Mekelle, the capital of Tigray Region, in less than a month, removing the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) from power. However, Tigrayan forces regrouped in the following months, and by June 2021, they recaptured much of Tigray, including Mekelle.

EASTERN UKRAINE

In eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region, government troops and pro-Russian separatists (backed by Russia, both materially and militarily) have been engaged in conflict since April 2014. Following a Russian military build-up on the Russia–Ukraine border from late 2021, the conflict expanded significantly when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine  on 24 February 2022.

==Monkeypox

Monkeypox is caused by monkeypox virus, a member of the Orthopoxvirus genus in the family Poxviridae. Monkeypox is usually a self-limited disease with the symptoms lasting from 2 to 4 weeks. Severe cases can occur. In recent times, the case fatality ratio has been around 3–6%. Monkeypox is transmitted to humans through close contact with an infected person or animal, or with material contaminated with the virus. Monkeypox virus is transmitted from one person to another by close contact with lesions, body fluids, respiratory droplets and contaminated materials such as bedding.

==On January 6, 2021, a mob of supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump attacked the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. in what is commonly referred to as the Capitol attack, Capitol riot, Capitol insurrection, January 6, or 1/6. Trump's supporters sought to overturn his defeat in the 2020 presidential election by disrupting the joint session of Congress assembled to count electoral votes that would formalize the victory of President-elect Joe Biden. The Capitol Complex was locked down and lawmakers and staff were evacuated as rioters assaulted law enforcement officers, vandalized property, and occupied the building for several hours. Five people died either shortly before, during, or following the event.

 

The VP of the US House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol - says this hearing will examine Mr Trump's "relentless efforts" to pressure Mr Pence to refuse to count lawful electoral votes. "President Trump had no factual basis for what he was doing, and he had been told it was illegal. Despite this, president Trump plotted with a lawyer named John Eastman to overturn the outcome of the election on January 6,". "As a federal judge has indicated, this likely violated two federal criminal statutes."
