we are newly born into the kingdom of God, where he nurtures us

As citizens of heaven, we nurture one another, in Christ.

1 Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together,

each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation,

has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

What I have come to understand is that when I ask for MY daily bread,

it is for the nutrition and nurturing of the Body.

We receive from each other.

1 Corinthians 12:

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the

word of knowledge through the same Spirit,

9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by

the same Spirit,

10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy,

to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues,

to another the interpretation of tongues.

11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing

to each one individually as He wills.

18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body

just as He pleased.

What matters is that we can say, like Yeshua:

John 14:30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world

He Knows What Is In Man

John 2:

23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast,

many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did.

24 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all,

25 and had no need that anyone should testify of man,

for He knew what was in man.

The Lord will not judge by the outward appearance.

Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge

the secrets of men by Jesus Christ....

He knows the secrets of the heart.

Psalm 44:

20 If we have forgotten the name of our God,

or stretched out our hands to a strange god;

21 Shall not God search this out?

for He knows the secrets of the heart.

22 Yea, for thy sake we are killed all day long;

we are counted as sheep for slaughter.

Has the Holy Spirit exposed the secrets of your heart?

1 Corinthians 14:

24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believes not, or one unlearned,

he is convinced of all, he is judged by all:

25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face

he will worship God, and report that God is in you in truth.

`The secrets of the heart,` are those things we hold dear in our heart, think upon, desire, hold above all things, and give our time, energy and strength to.

The Word of God defines the" Secret Place" as the Intimate,Private and Personal place we go to be with God in Christ in secret,we enter into His Rest there as Rosie1 quoted above- we are not " performing" before anyone as Mr M and heartwashed BOTH replied......but what we do in private is NOT the Secret Place of the Most High according to the Scriptures,we can be all alone,in "a" secret place & still be far removed from God's Rest .....

Indeed God Almighty is Omnipresent but because He is with us always does not mean WE are with Him,if we are not WALKING in Spirit & in Truth we are simply ignoring Him or distracted or focused on whatever in the flesh

It reminds me of a story I was heard- A lovely couple used to go for drives to enjoy the sights together,as newlyweds the wife practically sat on her husband's lap as he drove, they were madly in love with each other. As the years went on they still went for their drives together but as time passes the wife moved closer & closer to the passenger window- one day as she gazed out the window she turned to look at her husband, the driver, feeling alone & said " What are you doing all the way over there?" And he replied" I never moved"...

With love in Christ,Kwik

Then forget that I have called what we do in private "the secret place"...

And accept the teaching that if what we do in private is different from what we do in front of other people, that this is hypocrisy.

As in "God shall judge the secrets of men according to my gospel"

It is mincing words.

The question at hand is, what is hypocrisy?

It is sinning secretly when trying to put off an air of holiness in public.

Perhaps a prayer, to overcome vanity.

Psalm 39

1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue:

I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

2 I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good;

and my sorrow was stirred.

3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned:

then spake I with my tongue,

4 Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days,

what it is: that I may know how frail I am.

5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an hand breadth; and mine age

is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is

altogether vanity. Selah.

6 Surely every man walks in a vain show: surely they are

disquieted in vain: he heaps up riches, and knows not

who shall gather them.

7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

8 Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not

the reproach of the foolish.

9 I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.

10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by

the blow of thine hand.

11 When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity,

you make his beauty consume away like a moth:

surely every man is vanity. Selah.

12 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry;

hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee,

and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

13 O spare me, that I may recover strength,

before I go hence, and be no more.

Fine,let's forget that,lol

Yrs,of course you've described hypocrisy and it goes even further, saying one thing while doing another is also hypocrisy matter behind closed doors or for all to see...

It's simple, practice what you preach..... And we cannot forget when one accuses another of what they also do themselves ,hypocrites

The scribed & the pharisees that Jesus Rebuked were the greatest examples of a hypocrite- everything they did was done for show,to seem as though they were above everyone else & Holy-again,spirit of pride at the core.....the enemy at work!

Thanks for sharing,I left this thread but saw your response- nice chatting with you

With love in Christ, Kwik

God's Word Says" Let your yes be yes & your no be no- we just have to mean what comes out of our mouths & DO IT-!

Hypocrisy is more likely acting in public, while neglecting the secret place entirely, i.e. winging it.

The term hypocrite, (which means "actor", one who speaks from a "script", i.e. lip service.)

as it us used by the Lord, speaks specifically to how we act and speak publicly as a show,

with a heart that is far from the Lord.

On 12/28/2022 at 4:28 PM, Mr. M said:

As to being a hypocrite as it is used by the Lord, is by definition a public persona.

Matthew 23:

5 But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad

and enlarge the borders of their garments.

6 They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,

7 greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’

The Greek hupocrisis refers specifically to the actors in Greek theatre.

Any attempt to put on a "vain show" before others, to draw attention

to oneself, making a false impression, etc...  is a manifestation of

self-awareness that as the Spirit makes clear in Psalm 39, ALL have

been guilty of. Wanting to make an impression on someone while

exaggerating what we feel is our "good side".

All have been "bad actors" at one time or another, and have had

to ask themselves, "who was I kidding". Here, we have a familiar

expression...Get Real!

1 Corinthians 5:

6 Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little

leaven leavens the whole lump?

7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a

new lump, since you truly are unleavened.

For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven,

nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with

the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Clearly, the Lord was particularly hostile against religious

leaders for engaging in hypocrisy, for they were spiritual

leaders who claimed to represent the Lord. Think about

this, He called them out publicly for their sins. This was

totally out of character for His ministry, of "coming not

to condemn the world, but to save". Since all have sinned

and fallen short of the glory of God, any attempt to act

otherwise is vanity, and hypocrisy. A stern warning to

anyone who calls themselves a leader, an elder or "senior

member", in the Body of Christ. This is a big reason why

true humility requires humiliation. I have humiliated myself

more times than I can even give an account of, and all the

while, trying to make "a good impression".

A born hypocrite, saved by grace, I Am.
