What do you say the christian perspective of this statement should be?

Ah don't read Dear Abby  nor Ann Landers  is my Christian perspective as they are both dead.

The hacks that have rights to their names are just that, hacks of this unsaved world making a buck best as they can by tickling the ears of  the few left that read newspapers.

I think the provided response is vague, lazy and a rhetorical dodge - trying to sound clever, without actually saying anything meaningful.

In some cases....it's accurate advice. If the man is beating the ever loving snot out of the woman, then yes, it's better to save the person and not the marriage.

If there's no abuse however, then marriage harmony and healing should be sought.

Our pastors oppose divorce but recommend separation in many cases of drug and/or alcohol addiction in an effort to protect the spouse and children as well as to convince the addict that they need to seek help to keep their family.
