I am always interested in what is happening in the solar system.  I only wish I could find the time to study more so to understand better.

I also want to remind some folks who are not into astronomy that those Coronal Mass Ejection movies are time lapse.  They don't go that fast.

Yes, the monitors can provide plenty of warning before arrival. If strong enough, they create abnormal geomagnetic storms at the poles (auroras) and can disrupt electrical grids. What is less known but now discovered is that bursts in solar particles can affect the human heart, and some are moving toward issuing warnings for the sake of those with heart conditions, pacemakers, etc...Solar weather is not the science of the future, it is the science that always was, and is moving to the forefront. Anyone who has seen the movie the Aeronauts with Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, it chronicles the opposition to early funding and research in meteorology, for which we now take for granted with our daily weather forecast.

That's some wild stuff, I've read it causes around 5,500 heart attacks in a given year.

It would make as much sense to restrict time outdoors on high cosmic ray days,

as it does to limit time outdoors during high UV index to avoid sunburn.

Some of the rays goes right through a house, They have been detected deep inside mines. If someone has a heart condition indoors might nor even be safe.

They may have found another benefit for solar panels....radiation shielding.

Today, lead glass and other types of specialized glass are considered vital materials for protection against radiation exposure. As well as offering tunable mechanical, chemical and optical properties, glasses that contain lead strongly absorb gamma, x-ray, and neutron radiation.

I just pulled this off a website for a manufacturer of lead glass, so their claims would have to be verified, what with the obvious financial incentive bias.
