Case in Point; Jesus was Crucified, Buried, and arose (Resurrected) on the morning of the third day. Yea, I believe this so what... Back to the basics of the Believer in Christ Jesus: We as a Believer have been crucified in/with Christ according to Gal 2:20. John 12 24 - Unless a seed dies, it cannot bear fruit. So Only One Logical Collusion; We Believers are ALL Dead in Christ Jesus. This is the only way we can bear fruit. Rom 6:4 - We were therefore buried with Him through the Baptism into death. And yet it gets better.... Christ arose (was Resurrected) on the third day. Rom 6:8 - Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. Rom 8:10,11 - But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of Righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raise Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead, will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. Yea, I believe this so what... Do you now... We as Believers in Christ have now gone the the Crucifixion, and Burial, and Resurrection with Christ. Ok, what's the point. The Believer in Christ has already been Resurrected. There is no future Resurrection for us, It is done and is Complete, by the Spirit in Christ Jesus. We are there already, the process is done. In Christ Montana Marv Easterly is age old paganism, derived from the spring festival of Astarte, in fertility A person might wonder why the world and even now within the church, is doing the Easter bunnies and eggs, these are symbols of fertility Setting the date of Easter follows the vernal equinox, full moon, and the first Sunday following this is easterly, "Pagan Origin" No place in scripture is the believer instructed to remember the Lord's "Resurrection" The scripture clearly instructs the believer to remember the Lord's "Death" through communion in the bread and cup "Period" Jesus Is The Lord

I suspect, with no faith in the resurrection, God will give you just what you are believing for and in. The church, however, is going to be raised from the dead and changed from a mortal being into an immortal. If you have not already been Resurrected, you then are unable to perform your duties. You cannot bear fruit. Fruitful harvest comes from a dead seed which is put in the ground and arises up out of the ground to produce a harvest. If one has not come up (risen) out of the ground, they cannot produce a harvest and are good for nothing. We already have been raised from the dead, we as the Church just have not received our immortal bodies. So you believe that those Alive in Christ all must die just before assembling with those Dead in Christ to meet our Lord in the air. You are in error, The Church/Body of Christ is Alive in Christ Jesus and not dead as you say. In Christ Montana Marv

Then the cup; This cup is the new covenant in my blood, do this whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes. What happened after his death, He was buried. Then, He arose from the grave on Resurrection Sunday, then later ascended into Heaven later to return at a future day. He cannot return unless He ascended, He could not ascend unless He rose from the grave, He could not have rose of the grave unless He was buried; He could not have been buried unless He died on the Cross. I have yet to read any dictionary that uses this word for anything spiritual. Quote So you believe that those Alive in Christ all must die just before assembling with those Dead in Christ to meet our Lord in the air. Most certainly NOT! Those who are "alive and remain" did die. Our old man was put to death. A NEW MAN was created. That is not a resurrection. It is a new birth. Yet, Rom 8:11 - And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who lives in you. Present Believers, Past Believers and Future Believers. Now this is the Spirit of God which raised Jesus from the Grave. As he gave Christ Life, he will also give us Life. Christ was Resurrected, We are Resurrected, by the same Spirit. Water Baptism is a symbol of how we have died, been buried, and have risen to new life. Christ had a death, burial and Resurrection. We as Believers also have a death, burial and Resurrection, by the same Spirit. Col 2:12 - having been buried with him in Baptism, and raised with him through your faith in the Power of God, who raised him from the dead. This is Resurrection. We have been raised with Christ, We have been Resurrected with Christ. Not apart from Christ, but with Christ. Present tense. By the work of the Holy Spirit we have already gone through the death, burial and resurrection process. We are complete in Christ. The church still awaits our physical, "body" resurrection.

Born again Christians should speak of this time of year using a different vocabulary. I understand you point, but is it really that big an issue? Is it possible the semantics over the word could become a stumbling block to believers? I know Easter is not a Christian word, but I have no issue with people using it to refer to the resurrection.
