"destroyed" as in "ended" the Babylonian empire.

Do you understand when the day of the Lord is?

Was the day of the Lord 2550 years ago or is it still future?

The day of the Lord begins in the near future when the Antichrist goes into the temple, sits, claims to have achieved God-hood.

The day of the Lord never ends from that point forward.

-------------------------------------------

Part of Isaiah's vision - is of the end times forthcoming day of the Lord.

-------------------------------------------

Isaiah 13:1 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.

What does the "the burden of Babylon" mean to you ?    The burden that Babylon, the physical city itself,  has to carry.     Or the burden that Babylon, in the spiritual sense, that has placed on all creation, to deal with?

-------------------------------------------

Isaiah was looking far into the future to the day of the Lord, end times.

And to the near to Isaiah's time, the end of the ancient Babylonian empire.

And from then with the defeat of the ancient Babylon empire by the Medes, progress through history the longer term until the eventual abandonment of the city of Babylon to become a waste land as it is today.

I don't think the city of Babylon is going to come back to its former glory days

The kingdom of the ten kings and the little horn person in Daniel 7:23-24 is the fourth kingdom, the Roman Empire - which has manifested itself in the end times as the EU.

So we will know when the day of the Lord is approaching, the stage is set for it, when the temple is constructed and before the Antichrist appears (or at least announces himself)?

This seems to make sense to my way of thinking, nut my way of thinking is not necessarily the correct one.

I think that likely the Antichrist will be a prime mover in the rebuilding of the temple.

My reason is that the Antichrist is someone who will be anointed the King of Israel - but coming in his own name, i.e. someone the Lord did not send to be their king.

There are 7 years in Ezekiel 39 following the destruction of Gog's army.   And later in verses 17-20, is the Armageddon event at Jesus's return.

The Antichrist's time is during that 7 years.

------------------------------------------

Following God's supernatural destruction of the Russian/muslim alliance called Gog/Magog - the temple mount will be freed up for the Jews to pursue their dream of building the next temple.       I don't think there will be a Jewish temple built intended by them to be for the worship of the One True God -  until then.

No,the day of the Lord doesn't begin untill the Medes attack Babylon.

Three days after the Medes have attacked Babylon and killed the two witnesses, then the king of the norths armed forces place the abomination of desolation.

In other words, first Iran attacks Israel and the two witnesses occupying Jerusalem . Iran takes control of Israel and celebrate their victory in Jerusalem.

Three days later the United States aed forces  respond by placing the abomination that causes desolation in Jerusalem,Damascus and many other cities throughout the middle east and north Africa.

The world will be saying "peace and safety" at that time, thinking it has entered the messianic age.

Here are the applicable verses.

1Thessalonians5

1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

2Thesslaonians 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

There is so much wrong with that scenario, I hardly know where to begin.

For clarity's sake, why don't you start working on and make a timeline chart of events from the start of the 7 years to the end of the 7 years when Jesus returns.

--------------------------------------------

And also, go back, edit your post and put in parenthesis what you mean by the Medes and Babylon, in parenthesis in red.

for example, your sentence...

Three days after the Medes (Iranians) have attacked Babylon (Jerusalem) and killed the two witnesses, then the king of the north's armed forces (the U.S. military) place the abomination of desolation (??????).

Shilohsfold, go back edit your post.   And fill in the ??????

Also explain, whatever your answer is for ?????? that will be setup (Daniel 11:11-12) and standing in the holy place as Jesus said in Matthew 24:15.

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The day of the Lord does not start at Daniel 11:31 when the false prophet first starts occupying Israel. This is when the image of the beast is made.

Daniel 11:31-35

His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation.

He will flatter and win over those who have violated the covenant. But the people who know their God will be strong and will resist him.

Those who are wise will instruct many, though for a time they will fall by the sword or be burned or captured or plundered.

When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere will join them.

Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.

The day of the Lord begins 42 months after the false prophet arrives in Israel. The day of the Lord takes takes place at the time of the dnd when the king of the south attacks the king of the north armed forces in Jerusalem in

Daniel 11:40

At the time of the end the king of the South will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood.

And in Daniel 11:44 the abomination that causes jerusalems desolation is placed making Jerusalem desolate.

Daniel 11:44

But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many.

While scripture says he will innihilate many, you say he will claim to be God.

It's when he goes forth to innihilate many that is when Daniel says the great tribulation begins.

Daniel 12:1

At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.

He said the falling away and the man of sin is revealed before the day of the Lord .Not that he is revealed on the day of the Lord.

Geesh the saints in Daniel 11:32 knows he is the man of sin 42 months before the end.1290 days before the abomination of desolation is placed in Jerusalem.

Daniel 11:32

With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.

Those verses are historic, not end times.

End times do not begin until Daniel 11:36.
