Jesus said whoever commits sin is “a servant of sin,”and a servant does not abide in the house forever: but the Son abides forever.

It is also written that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God; but he that overcomes shall inherit all things, and God shall call them my son.

Think about the difference in relationships between a servant (slave), and a only son of his Father.

An only son is the true and rightful heir of his Fathers house, and everything therein according to the Fathers will; but not a servant.

In the days of old a slave was often bought and sold and even exchanged on the slave market; also being held in hard bondage and servitude to those who ruled over them.

And also a slave had no rightful inheritance of the Masters House; unlike the only begotten Son of the Father.

Jesus spoke this parable so that we might better understand the effects and consequences of sin, and how when we live in sin we become like “slaves or servants of sin;”and are also brought under hard bondage unable to set ourselves free.

In the slave trade days servants were often “marked”by their Masters to prove ownership; and like the beasts of the earth they too were often bought and sold.

This is a part of the mystery concerning the “mark of sin,” and the buying and selling aspect of the mark of the man/ beast.

Just as God told the children of Israel that they had sold themselves out to do evil in the sight of the Lord because of their iniquities; and in the hands of their enemies they were brought into captivity and made to serve as slaves.

As God also said in His anger at the rebellious children of Israel, that He had sold Israel into the hands of their enemies, even though no material money or goods were exchanged.

This is important to note, because the language used in scripture by God is to be understood in God’s terms, not by mans terms or by man’s carnal understanding.

And so in the “spiritual sense” it is the same with being in bondage to sin, as I believe sin/sin nature is the mark of the man/beast.

And so those who serve sin are also marked by sin, and we know by the words of God the unrighteous (sinners) shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Thus we see the grave importance of having our sins forgiven and being made free from the bondage of sin by the only begotten Son of God, and by faith in Christ (the seed of promise).

And when we are born again from above and receive the promise of the Father, we are also empowered by God’s Spirit so we might then become “the sons”of the Living God.

And thus by spiritual rebirth(being born again of God’s Holy Spirit) we are made sons and “fellow heirs”of the Kingdom of God through the adoption of sons; afforded us by God’s grace and faith in what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us through His death and ressurection.

By the Spirit of God’s Son working in us we are “made free”from the lusts and the desires of the flesh (sin), and are now made new creatures in Christ. Thus we now have a desire to serve the will of our Father in heaven by now serving righteousness instead of sin.

We are servants to whom we obey, whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness. And according to whom we serve, we are either “marked by sin,”or we are “sealed”by the Spirit of God; which is the seal (mark) of the righteousness of the faith to all those who believe in Jesus Christ.

Friends believe in the power of God to change your hearts and minds, and have faith in what Jesus has accomplished for you on the cross.

Believe that God through Christ crucified can indeed cleanse you from all unrighteousness, and can indeed make you free from the hard bondage of sin and give you the victory over Death.

And by spiritual rebirth you will no longer be “the servants”of sin, but are now empowered by God to become “the sons”of the Living God.

And being the sons of God you also are now fellow heirs of the Kingdom of God, and heirs of the promises of God, and of the inheritance of the saints who believe in Jesus Christ.

With this I would like to post a few verses concerning those sons who shall inherit the promises by faith in Jesus Christ.

Galatians 4:1-7 4 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world (under bondage to sin) 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

Romans 4:13-1613 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all”

Romans 8:12-17 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.(live in sin)13 For if ye live after the flesh,(sin) ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body,(put to death sin) ye shall live.14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are “the sons”of God.15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together”

Well said.  I believe there are two aspects of salvation we need to be concerned with.  I believe we are initially saved by God’s grace without works through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).  Then, we continue in the faith or God’s plan of salvation in the secondary aspect of salvation (Which is the Sanctification of the Spirit to live a holy life) (2 Thessalonians 2:13).  Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).  This would include me and every other person on the planet.

That’s right, if a person is truly under God’s grace and are sealed with the righteousness of the faith by the Holy Spirit, then sin will no longer reign over them.

Just as it is also written that grace reigns through righteousness.

While there is a change in the new birth, and while believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit (Which is the down payment of their inheritance), that does not mean they cannot lose their inheritance.  We see how Paul warns believers how they will not inherit the kingdom of God if they partake in certain sins (Galatians 5:19-21).  Believers must choose each day every day to serve the Lord.  While the Lord can be persuasive, God does not force us against our will to be good.  2 Corinthians 7:1 says let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God.  So it is not automatic thing.  We have strive to enter the straight gate.  We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling.  Salvation is conditional, and believers must confess and forsake sin in order to have mercy (Proverbs 28:13).   Many today think your future sin is forgiven you because of a belief alone on Jesus as your Savior, and this is false.

This is true. One of the major prophecies in the Bible is the falling away from the faith.  We have to abide in Christ.

John 15:1-6

King James Version

15 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned”

Hebrews 6:4-8

King James Version

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.”

I keep hearing that once born again we will go to Heaven anyway if we live in sin like we did before getting born again.

Apparently this is what the calvinists and reformed theology folks believe.

It's NOT actually true that they would go to Heaven anyhow.

The Lord does not teach this in His Word, the early church didn't teach this.... it all got started later with Augustine who was a false teacher that started this departure from scripture.

Jon Calvin and Martin Luther both were big fans of Augustine's writings and it all goes down hill from there in to heresy!

The Lord tells us in the last days there would be a falling away!

That is what it has always sounded like to me, too, But I am open to correction if someone can explain it better.

Paul to the Romans speaks of 'the obedience of faith' and 'obedience to the faith'.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
