I heard John Piper teachers and believes we cannot lose our salvation

He teaches that you cannot lose it if you really had it in the first place. The point is that many people THINK they have it and never did in the first place. Their flippancy towards continuing to sin exposes that they were never saved in the first place.

Except for one person, everyone seems to believe we go to heaven regardless of what our lifestyle is during this life.

I'm running in to far more people that say you cannot ever lose salvation and very few that say you can

So it seems like how we live doesn't natter at all because we cannot lose salvation once we get saved.  I guess that's why they call it good news right?

Anyone who has this attitude proves they never understood sin and salvation in the first place.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” -- Matthew 7:21-23

I agree. The discipline of the Lord is what we all receive in the very beginning, and also at different times whenever it's needful. His discipline can be very stern indeed. It can be hard to bear.

I encourage those who seek the Lord to surrender everything to Him, knowing that whatever we had in this world is stubble for the fire. It will be burned to ashes! How much better is it to cast it all before His feet than to have such things painfully taken away from us?

If we are His, then the Lord will have us His way with us!

Wow!  Note to self - stay away from Calvinist Jesus!

I heard something about this a while back and need to read up on that.

It sounds like the Calvinist stuff does agree with the bible right?

There ya go!  If one really got saved, then is they did a bunch of sin it does matter because they will still go to heaven right?

If he is forcing people to do stuff why doesn't he force everyone to get saved?

Read the scriptures, Stan Murff. No one who loves God mocks Him.

I'm not trying to mock anybody.

If he can make people do stuff why not make them get saved?

It would be for their own good!

Being crucified as a perpetually sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the world satisfied God's Wrath against sinners, but it is only effective to those who repent of their sin, and have faith in Christ for their salvation. God foreknows who will do this, intervening in a just manner, not coercing the rebellious who harden against His grace and mercy, denying any need to be forgiven and redeemed. Such are predestined for damnation.

Are you saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ?
