Guest yod
"Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt," a novel about the 7-year-old Jesus, narrated by Christ himself. "I promised," she says, "that from now on I would write only for the Lord." hmm...this line from her interview has me a little concerned. Did the real Jesus give her an interview on what it was like when he was 7 and living in Eygpt?

It may be misguided zealotry; it's kind of hard to say. It seems as though she's sincere about her conversion though.

Exactly... as long as the fiction is not an attempt to rewrite the truth. We should wait & see what she writes first, I think. There are many historical fiction books about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which do not contradict the truth but only speculate filling in the holes. Some years ago, Og Mandino wrote a great book titled, "The Christ Commission" that sort of falls in this catagory. So, for me, as long as the truth is not compromised (as it was in The Da Vinci Code), I have no problem with it. We'll see I guess.

So much money in "Christianity". Wouldn't be surprised if Robert Jordan hopped on the band-wagon next. I think Elvis liked gospel music.
Guest yod
Elvis always had a gospel quartet as background singers. After his concerts, they would do a gospel concert backstage for all the media and jet-setters who wanted to hang out and be "cool". Sometimes these gospel concerts would go for 3 or 4 hours. I once talked with Scotty Moore (his guitarist in the early days). Scotty told me that Elvis was a devout man that got carried away by the isolation of being loved (idolized) by so many. I don't think anyone on planet Earth except possibly Jesus or the Beatles could understand the pressure of being unable to go anywhere without being mobbed by crowds. The only difference between his sins and ours is that ours don't make front page news. Who else has ever named their home "Graceland" ? OK...sorry to go off on a tangent but I wanted to answer the hijacking of this thread before going back to the subject of this woman's book. Celebritys DO get saved...and then the church turns them into christian celebrities instead of letting them grow in the Lord first. I hope this woman has truly been redeemed by the real Jesus.
