@itty-bitty lamb PS: You raised piercings as well; a lot of tattoo parlors do piercings also; it probably makes business sense to offer both, right?

(It's likely that your friend went to a tattoo parlor for hers.)

that would be mine also.....   no tattoos at all.

@other one I know your own preference - thanks! - So what do you think of Bible verse tattoos?

My wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area; it was her favorite Bible verse and mine also; and I'm sure other conversations must have arisen also; which was probably the reason she would have gone in and emerged joyfully tattooed from the parlor.

I guess I don't see them as any different than any other one.   They don't bother me and I don't judge people for having them....     matter of face one of the most spirit filled Christians I worked with running of our large printers was covered all over (so he said) with them except for his face.  Many people misjudge him as both a Christian and a person.     So I guess I would say that people both for and against make way too much to do about them.

Thanks, @other one , for your comment.

I think it's clear that in some areas and among some Christian families it's become a natural, coming-of-age event:

..in the rural Bible Belt. Just about every person in three of the four sides of my family (bio parents, step parents) have multiple tattoos. Most of them are biblical (crosses between the shoulder blades are the most common ones) getting tattoos when your old enough is pretty much expected in the family.

....................

Whether or not ppl like or dislike it, this seems to be self-evident that it's become a natural, coming-of-age event, right?

(I take your point also about not making too much of a fuss about them either way...)

@debrakay FYI.......a new poll was started because the old one expired.

(I think your family has also gotten a bit into faith based ink, right?)

I have one granddaughter with a small angel tattoo and one grandson with several scripture tattoos.  Another granddaughter who just turned 18 decided to get 2 small icecubes and we have no idea what that is all about.  She said she though they were "cute".  LOL! I have one small plumeria flower in honor of my first trip to Hawaii and after 35 years it is pretty shriveled.  Everyone seems to think tattoos are so great as boby art when they are young but as the body ages the tattoos look worse.  The firmness of the skin is gone and one is left with a shriveled permanent mess.  I am glad I only had one done in my lifetime.

@debrakay Thanks for the comment. Sounds like your grandchildren now one by one are getting into the tattoo parlor visits; these days it does especially seem like a coming-of-age thing.

Seems like your grandson is really, really keen to witness through his Bible quote tattoos. (Don't be surprised if he hasn't finished getting them yet...)
