1 Thessalonians chapter 1

The model church

1Th 1:1 Greetings from Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace to you!

1Th 1:2 We thank God always for all of you, as we mention you constantly in our prayers, because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith (which is to believe in Jesus, who will raise us up to eternal life), our labour of love (which is to serve the living God), and our endurance of hope (which is to wait for Christ's return) in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Paul repeats this threefold sequence in Titus 2:11:13.)

1Th 1:4 We know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, in that our gospel did not come to you merely in words, but in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with deep conviction. And you became imitators of us and the Lord when you received the message with the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit, despite great affliction. When the Gentiles and all believers heard the Christian message, they began to rejoice and praise the name of the Lord. Act 13:48)

1Th 1:7 As a result you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia (showing yourself to be an example of good works in every way. Tit. 2:7). For from you, the message of the Lord has echoed forth not just in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place reports of your faith in God have spread, so that we do not need to say anything.

People everywhere report how you welcomed us and turned to God from idols, an indication the converts were mainly Gentiles, while most of the Jews remained bitterly hostile. Those who believed, turned to the true and living God while waiting for his Son from heaven, our redeemer and deliverer from the coming wrath.

The First Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians

Chapter 2

(1) Our friends, you know that our visit to you was not a failure. You know how people mistreated and insulted us in Philippi before we came to you in Thessalonica. And even though there was much opposition, God gave us the courage to tell you the good news that comes from him. Our appeal to you is not based on error or impure motives, nor do we try to trick anyone. Instead, we always speak as God wants us to, because he has judged us worthy to be entrusted with the Good News. We try to please God, who tests our motives, rather than pleasing people according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust (1Ti 1:11)

(5) You know we did not come to you with flattering talk, nor did we use words to cover up greed; God is our witness! Neither did we seek praise from anyone, even though, as the apostles of Christ, we could have made demands on you. But we were gentle when we were with you, like a mother taking care of her children. So, we must love one another with a pure loving heart, born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible seed, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever. (1 Peter 1:22)

(8) Because of our love for you, we were ready to share with you not only the good news from God, but even our own lives. You were so dear to us! Surely you remember, our friends, how we worked and toiled! We worked day and night so that we would not cause you any trouble, as we preached the Good News from God. I will gladly give all I have and all I am. (2 Cor 12:15)

(10) You are our witnesses, and so is God, that our conduct toward you who believe was pure, right, and without fault. You know how we treated each one of you the same way parents care for their children. We encouraged you; we comforted you, and we kept urging you to live the life that pleases God, who calls you to share in his kingdom and glory. We put aside all secret and shameful deeds; we do not act with deceit or falsify the word of God. In the full light of truth, we live in God’s sight and try to commend ourselves to everyone’s good conscience. (2Co 4:2)

(13) And there is another reason why we always thank God. When we brought you God’s message, you heard it and accepted it, not as a message from human beings, but as a message from God, which indeed it is. For God is at work in you who believe. Neither should we fight over words. It does no good and ruins the people who listen. (2 Tim 2:14)

(14) Our friends, the same things happened to you that happened to the churches of God in Judea, to the people there who belong to Christ Jesus. You suffered the same persecutions from your people they suffered from the Jews. They killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us. How displeasing they are to God! How hostile they are to everyone! They even tried to stop us from preaching to the Gentiles the message that would bring them salvation. In this way, they brought to completion all the sins they committed. Jesus told them, "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of himself, for he is a liar and the father of it." (John 8:14)

And now God’s anger has finally come down on them! As for us, friends, when we got separated from you for a short while — not in our thoughts, of course, but only in the body — how we missed you and how hard we tried to see you again! We wanted to return to you. I tried to go back more than once, but Satan would not let us. After all, it is you — you, no less than others! — who are our hope, our joy, and our reason for boasting of our victory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes. Indeed, you are our pride and joy, and in heaven also! Then, when all is done, Jehovah thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the peoples, wherever Jehovah has scattered them. (Deu 30:3) Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Heb 12:2)

Thank you, Lord.

The First Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians

Chapter 3
We could not come to you, said Paul, but it was hard to wait any longer. So, we decided to send Timothy to you and stay in Athens alone. Timothy is our brother. He works with us in God's work, telling people the Good News about Christ. We sent Timothy to strengthen and encourage you in the faith. We sent him so that none of you would be upset by the troubles we have now. You yourselves know that we must have these troubles. Even when we were with you, we told you that we would all have to suffer. And you know that it happened just as we said. This is why I sent Timothy to you, so that I could know about your faith. I sent him when I could not wait any longer. I was afraid that the devil, who tempts people, might have defeated you with temptations. Then our hard work would have been wasted.

But now Timothy has come to us from you and given us the good news of your faith and love and that you always think of us with affection and long to see us, just as we also long to see you! So in all our distress and affliction, we were reassured about you, brothers and sisters, through your faith. For now, we are alive again, if you stand firm in the Lord. How can we thank God enough for you for all the joy we feel because of you before our God? We pray earnestly night and day to see you in person and to make up what may be lacking in your faith. Now may God our Father himself and our Lord Jesus direct our way to you. And may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we do for you, so that your hearts are strengthened in holiness to be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

May the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow more and more and become as great as our love for you. In this way, he will strengthen you, and you will be perfect and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all who belong to him.” (The end of chapter 3)

The harmony of the Bible.
“My sheep (said Jesus) listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them from my father’s hand.” (John 10:27-28) Let us follow the Good Shepherd.

From the Old Testament:
"Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills be joyful together before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth; with righteousness shall he judge the world and the people with equity." (Psa 98:8-9)

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Pro 3:5-6) Paul did that while "always looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2), Paul did that also, and he did as the Lord said in Jeremiah 44.)

The apostle Paul was as close to being a Good Shepherd as any mortal can. Praise God for them all, past and present. Amen.

The First Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians

Chapter 4

A Life Pleasing to God from the Old and New Testaments

(The harmony of the Bible)

1Th 4:1 Brothers and sisters, now I have some other things to tell you. We taught you how to live in a way that will please God. And you are living that way. Now we ask and encourage you in the Lord Jesus to live that way more and more.

(Job 22:22-25) Accept what he has to teach you, and treasure his words in your heart. “If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored, as you remove iniquity from your household. Bury your gold nuggets in the dust, and your source of gold among the stones in a stream bed, and then the Almighty will be your gold and your refined silver.

1Th 4:2 You know all that we told you to do by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

(2Ch 30:7-8) Do not be like your ancestors and your relatives, who were not faithful to the LORD God of their ancestors, who, as a result, made them a desolate horror, as you well know.

1Th 4:3 God wants you to be holy. He wants you to stay away from sexual sins.

(Psa 143:10) Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

1Th 4:4-5 God wants each one of you to learn to control your own body. Use your body in a way that is holy and that gives honour to God.  Do not let your sexual desires control you like the people who don’t know God.

(Hos 4:1-2) “Hear this message from the LORD, people of Israel. Indeed, the LORD brings a charge against the people who live in the land for there is no truth and no gracious love or knowledge of God in the land. Swearing, lying, murder, theft, and adultery are rampant, and blood mingles with blood.

1Th 4:6 Never wrong any of your fellow believers or cheat them in this way. The Lord will punish those who do that. We have already told you this and warned you about it.

(Mal 3:5)-“I’ll come near to you for judgment. I will be a witness, quick to speak against sorcerers, against adulterers, against those who swear falsely, against those who defraud the labourer of his wage, against those who defraud the widow and the orphan, against those who deprive the alien of justice, and against those who do not fear me,” says the LORD of the Heavenly Armies.

1Th 4:7-8 God chose us to be holy. He does not want us to live in sin. So, anyone who refuses to obey this teaching is refusing to obey God, not us. And God is the one who gives you his Holy Spirit.

(Num 15:31) Because he has despised the law of the LORD and has broken his commands, that person is certainly to be eliminated. His iniquity will remain on him.”

1Th 4:9-12 We do not need to write to you about having love for your brothers and sisters in Christ. God has already taught you to love each other. In fact, you love all the believers in Macedonia. We encourage you now, brothers and sisters, to show your love more and more.  Do all you can to live a peaceful life. Mind your own business, and earn your own living, as we told you before. If you do these things, then those who are not believers will respect the way you live. And you will not have to depend on others for what you need.

(Exo 18:21) “You are to look for capable men among the people, men who fear God, men of integrity who hate dishonest gain. You are to set these men over them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens.

The Coming of the Lord

1Th 4:13-14 Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about those who have died. We do not want you to be sad like other people — those who have no hope. We believe Jesus died, but we also believe he rose again. So, we believe God will raise to life through Jesus any who have died, and bring them together with him when he comes.

1Th 4:15-16 What we tell you now is the Lord’s own message. Those of us who are still living when the Lord comes again will join him, but not before those who have already died. The Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And the people who have died and were in Christ will rise first.

1Th 4:17-18 After that we who are still alive at that time will be gathered up with those who have died. We will be taken up in the clouds and meet the Lord in the air. And we will be with the Lord forever. So, encourage each other with these words.

The First Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians

Chapter 5

“There is no need to write to you, friends, about the times and occasions when these things will happen. For you yourselves know that the Day of the Lord will come as a thief comes at night. When people say, “Everything is quiet and safe,” then suddenly destruction will hit them! It will come as suddenly as the pains that come upon a woman in labour, and people will not escape, except for those in the arms of Jesus.

But you, friends, are not in the darkness, and the day should not surprise like a thief in the night. All of you are people who belong to the light of the day, not the darkness. We do not belong to the night, or the darkness. So then, we should not be sleeping like others; we should be awake and sober. It is at night when people sleep; it is at night when they get drunk.”

“Behold,” Jesus said, "I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man takes thy crown." (Rev 3:11)

(8) “We belong to the day and should be sober.” We must wear faith and love as a breast plate, and our hope of salvation as a helmet. God did not choose us to suffer his anger, but to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that we will live together with him, whether we are alive or dead when he comes. And so, encourage one another and help each other, just as you are doing now. We beg you, our friends, to pay proper respect to those who work among you. The Lord guides and instructs in the Christian life. Treat his servants with the greatest respect and love because of the work they do. Be at peace among yourselves. We urge you, our friends, to warn the idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, and be patient with everyone.” May “Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. (2 Jn 1:3)

(15) “See that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but at all times make it your aim to do good to one another and everyone. Be joyful always, pray at all times, and be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life, in union with Christ Jesus. Do not restrain the Holy Spirit; do not despise inspired messages. Put all things to the test: keep what is good and avoid every kind of evil.” Then, we shall enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (Psalm-100:4)

(23) “May God who gives us peace make you holy in every way and keep your whole being—spirit, soul, and body (in the image of the triune God)—free from every fault at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you will do it because he is faithful. Pray also for us, friends. Greet all the believers with a kiss of peace. I urge you, by the authority of the Lord, to read this letter to all believers. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” For whatever things were written aforetime, were written for our learning, so that we, through patience and the comfort of the scriptures, might have hope.

Those things, which ye have learned, received, heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. (Philippians 4:9)

2 Thessalonians 1:1-12

(1-2) From Paul, Silas, and Timothy. To the church in Thessalonica, the people of God our Father and of the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and bless you with peace!

At all times, we are obligated to thank God for you, because the righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. (Psa 92:12-15)

Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose hearts are the highways to Zion. As they go through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion. (Psa 84:5-7)

(3-5) My dear friends, we always have good reason to thank God for you, because your faith in God and your love for each other keep growing all the time.  (4) That's why we brag about you to all of God's churches. We tell them how patient you are and how you keep on having faith, even though you are going through a lot of trouble and suffering.  (5) All of this shows that God judges fairly and that he is making you fit to share in his kingdom for which you are suffering.

They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. Psa 92:13-15)

(6-7) It is only right for God to punish everyone who is causing you trouble, but he will give you relief from your troubles. He will do the same for us, when the Lord Jesus comes from heaven with his powerful angels.

God's faithful people are dragged off and killed, and no one even cares. Evil sweeps them away, but in death they find peace for obeying God. You people are unfaithful! You go to fortune-tellers, and you worship idols. Now pay close attention! Who are you making fun of? Who are you sneering at? Look how your sins have made fools of you. All you think about is sex under those green trees where idols are worshipped. You sacrifice your children on altars built in valleys under rocky slopes. You have chosen to worship idols made of stone; you have given them offerings of wine and grain. Should I be pleased? (Isa 57:1-6)

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with you, which frames mischief by law? They gather together against the soul of the righteous and condemn innocent blood. (22) But the LORD is my defence, and my God is the rock of my refuge. And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off. (Psalms 94:20-23)

Arise, O God, plead your own cause; remember how the foolish man reproaches you daily. Forget not the voice of your enemies; the tumult of those that rise up against you increases continually. Psalms 74:22-23

And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine; and all flesh shall know that I, the LORD, am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. Isaiah 49:26

For thus says the LORD of hosts; after the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you, for he that touches you touches the apple of his eye. Zechariah 2:8

(8) with a flaming fire, to punish those who reject God and do not obey the Good News about our Lord Jesus.

Psalms 50:6 The heavens shall declare his righteousness.

Jeremiah 9:24: But let him who boasts, boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.

(9-10) Their punishment will be eternal destruction, and they will be kept far from the presence of our Lord and his glorious strength. This will happen on that day when the Lord returns to be praised and honored by all who have faith in him and belong to him. This includes you, because you believed what we said.

Enter the caverns of the rocks and the clefts of the cliffs, from before the terror of the LORD and from the splendour of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth. (Isa 2:21)

Then those who feared the LORD spoke one to another. The LORD paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the LORD and esteemed his name. They shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Then once more, you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him." (Mal 3:16-18) Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified. Isaiah 49:3

These people have I formed for myself; they shall show forth my praise. Isaiah 43:21

Thy people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, so that I may be glorified. Isaiah 60:21

And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise, and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them, and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it. Jeremiah 33:9

(11-12) God chose you, and we keep praying that God will make you worthy of being his people. We pray for God's power to help you do all the good things you hope to do, and that your faith makes you want to do. Then, because God and our Lord Jesus Christ are so kind, you will bring honour to the name of our Lord Jesus, and he will bring honour to you.

And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him, and we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Isaiah 25:9

For this is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even unto death. Psalms 48:14

He will perfect that which concerns me: thy mercy, O LORD, endures forever; forsake not the works of thine own hands. (Thy work has begun in my soul; thy work is on behalf of Israel; thy work is in the evangelization of the world; thy work is in the salvation of mankind. (You will not forsake these.) Psalms 138:8

2 Thessalonians Chapter 2

When our Lord Jesus returns, we will be gathered to meet him. So, I ask you, my friends, (2) not to be easily upset or disturbed by people who claim the Lord has already come.

(Dan 7:25 “This king will speak evil of God Most High, and he will be cruel to God’s chosen ones. He will try to change God’s Law and the sacred seasons. And he will do this for a time, two times, and half a time.

Dan 8:25, Dan 11:36 & Rev 3:5-6 Everyone who wins the victory will wear white clothes. Their names will not be erased from the book of life, and I will tell my Father, and his angels, that they are my followers.  (6) If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.)

$

They may say they heard this directly from the Holy Spirit, or someone else, or even that they read it in one of our letters. (3) But don’t be fooled! People will rebel against God. Then, before the Lord returns, the wicked one who is doomed to be destroyed will appear. (4) He will brag and oppose everything holy or sacred. He will even sit in God’s temple and claim to be God.

Isa 14:14 I’ll be above the clouds, just like God Most High.”
Eze 28:2 Ezekiel, son of man, tell the king of Tyre that I am saying: You are so arrogant that you think you’re a god and that the city of Tyre is your throne. You may claim to be a god, though you’re nothing but a mere human.

$

(5) Don’t you remember that I told you this while I was still with you? (6) You already know what is holding this wicked one back until it is time for him to come. (7) His mysterious power is already at work, but someone is holding him back. And the wicked one won’t appear until that someone is out of the way. 8) Then he will appear, but the Lord Jesus will kill him simply by breathing on him. He will be totally destroyed by the Lord’s glorious return.

Dan 7:10-11 and flames were dashing out from all around him. Countless thousands were standing there to serve him. The time of judgment began, and the books were opened.  (11) I watched closely to see what would happen to this smaller horn because of the arrogant things it was saying. Then before my very eyes, the fourth beast was killed and its body destroyed by fire.

$

(9) When the wicked one appears, Satan will pretend to work all kinds of miracles, wonders, and signs. (10) Lost people will be fooled by his evil deeds. They could be saved, but they will refuse to love the truth and accept it. (11) So God will make sure they are fooled into believing a lie.

1Ki 22:22 And the LORD said to him, ‘By what means?’ And he said, ‘I will go out, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And he said, ‘You are to entice him, and you shall succeed; go out and do so.’
Eze 14:9 And if the prophet is deceived and speaks a word, I, the LORD, have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

$

(12) All of them will be punished, because they would rather do evil than believe the truth. (13) My friends, the Lord loves you, and it is only natural for us to thank God for you. God chose you to be the first ones to be saved. His Spirit made you holy, and you put your faith in the truth. (14) God used our preaching as his way of inviting you to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. (15) My friends, that’s why you must remain faithful and follow closely what we taught you in person and in our letters. (16) God our Father, loves us. He is kind and has given us eternal comfort and wonderful hope. We pray that our Lord Jesus Christ and God, our Father, will encourage you and help you to do and say the right thing.

End of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.

2 Thessalonians chapter 3

The harmony of the Bible

Pray for Us
1 Finally, brothers, pray for us that the word of the Lord shall be honoured, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. Not all have faith. And the Lord said, I will hide my face from them; I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation, children in whom there is no faithfulness. Deu 32:20.

4 We have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do the things that we command. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will straighten your paths. Pro 3:5-6

Warning Against Idleness
6 Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness, and not according to the tradition you received from us. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it. We earned it with toil and labour, working night and day, so that we might not be a burden to any of you. It was not because we do not have that right, but instead, I gave you an example to imitate. 10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: if anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. We hear that some of you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies.

Pro 13:3-4 Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.

The sluggard does not plough in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing. (Pro 20:4)

Now such persons, we command and encourage, in the Lord Jesus Christ, to do their work quietly and earn their own living.

13 As for you, brothers, do not grow weary of doing good. If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of that person and have nothing to do with him; he may be ashamed. Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.

You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbour, lest you incur sin because of him. Lev 19:17

God gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might, he increases strength. (Isa 40:29)

You shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful to observe these statutes. (Deu 16:12)

What sorrow awaits rebellious, polluted Jerusalem, the city of violence and crime! No one can tell it anything; it refuses all corrections. It does not trust the LORD or draw near to its God. (Zep 3:1-2 NLT)

Benediction

16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times, in every way.

The LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Num 6:26

The Lord be with you all. And they answered, The LORD bless you. Ruth 2:4

17 I Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. This is the sign of genuineness in every letter of mine; it is the way I write.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with you all.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
