@Anne2 In the NT we are in a different era as regards circumcision.......... it's not necessary.

Yes, I know. But for Jews???

Act 21:20  And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
21  And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
22  What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
23  Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
24  Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
25  As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

@Anne2 Well....even for Christians with a Jewish background it would be a custom rather than a requirement....

Yeah. Since Hebrews explains it was priests made without an oath, therefore was not eternal. The priesthood was their inheritance, they did not inherit with Israel.

@Anne2 This is clear from Hebrews 7, which in verse 12 says that the priesthood was changed and this means the law was changed also.

So it's faith in Christ that counts, not the law or ethnic background.

Going by the OP's initial posts...

I didn't read the exchanges since...

You will note on my profile "Location: the Spirit House of Israel" because this is what I firmly believe is the nature and name of the Church of God.

That Rabbi Saul / Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 2:28-29 and Romans 9:6 is the contrast and distinction between the physical and the spiritual (specifically physical Israel and Spirit Israel).

Romans 2:28–29 (KJV)
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

For he is not a Spirit Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
But he is a Spirit Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise (yehudah) is not of men (the physical), but of God.

Romans 9:6 (KJV)
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

For they are not all Spirit Israel, which are of physical Israel:

And the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34) is only mentioned to be with the House of Judah and the House of Israel... prophesied by the Prophet to the Nations (Gentiles). And the seed of Abraham that blesses all nations obviously brings converts to Messiah into the Spirit House of Israel.

Opposition to this comes only from pride and prejudice. Physical Jewish pride and Gentile prejudice against Jews. For these passages and those cited by the OP clearly support this conclusion. That the all Israel will be saved is all Spirit Israel who believe in Messiah Jesus (Romans 11:26).

There has been an element of wanabe Jews in Christian circles for some time. That something in their hearts have led them to believe there is a Jewishness to being Christian (even if it has been goyed up over the centuries by Gentiles). The thing is, we are grafted into the vine which is the Jewish Messiah Jesus. And while that does not make Gentile born believers physical Jews, nor does it entitle them to a heritage in the Holy Land on Earth, it does guarantee citizenship of the Jerusalem form above (Galatians 4:21-31). Thus replacement theology is kaput! It is not replacement theology but inclusion theology. In Christ Gentiles are included in the spiritual aspects and promises of the Hebrew God.
