Speaking of rain, how are you doing, weatherwise, at L.A. Are you to get hit tomorrow with another storm?

It's coming late Wednesday... maybe 10 pm.   Supposed to rain mostly on Thursday, then somewhat on Friday.   A little break, then more on the way.

I enjoy it since it's mostly dry here in the Basin.

Thankfully the rain comes late Wednesday.   I have a doctor's checkup Wednesday morning.   Got to go to bed earlier tonight.

Good, long as you have provisions , in case there are  interruptions. I think of you possibly having to walk around in it. Hope and pray you still have a good neighbor or two to help when needed.

After my doctor's appointment and taking a little rest, I walked over to Target for a few things.

I did finally pay $99 for a year of delivery with Shipt... Target owns them but you can also order from a few other stores.   But Target is much cheaper.

It's really helpful having the groceries delivered... however, there's a $4 shopper fee plus a tip.   So it does add up...but I needed the delivery service.

Was getting too much taking care of mom plus getting groceries, too.   Even though my teen neighbor would have still helped me.   Also, have two other nice neighbors that get me a couple of items now and then.

plus a tip

Hi, Though nice to be able to give for good service Tips are optional. Plus I do believe there is free delivery if over a certain dollar minimum is ordered ( $35 ? ).

You might ask how your delivery person is compensated by ShipT. I know I have changed my own tipping mindset now that service employees are so much better compensated with minimum wage being so much higher now. I do not just tip willy Nilly 25% anymore. I just ignore the tip part of the payout counter screens. ( When I now tip ) I tip in cash at the service table.

Praying this service does work out well for you.

For groceries there is a $10 delivery fee no matter how large the order.

So it's cheaper to pay the $99 for unlimited deliveries for a year.

Also, about the tip...my Target app won't proceed any further until you enter a tip!

Might try making a statement by selecting amount OTHER and then entering  .01. WITH THAT BLACKMAIL IT IS WHAT I WOULD DO.

My wife recently tipped .08  at one of those screens instead of $8.00 by mistake.

A local restaurant just added a 20% surcharge for all orders. Plus tips are still expected by the servers including the owners when they are serving. Other places are charging extra for processing credit cards, but try to pay them cash. Ha, they can't handle making change.

It is a harsh time for both merchant and customer.  Real inflation far exceeds what is quoted by  government accounting. Much patience is required of us all.

I think that is why I so notice the "God Bless" that most use as their verbal hello and good byes at the mountain communities. It calms the spirit .
