Jerusalem is surrounded by some 69 mounts (or mountains), some of the more famous ones are :

Most sites that a person searches will say that the above Mounts are the most well known.

Revelation 17:16

The only city the beast from.the bottomless Pit attacks is Jerusalem..Maybe you will figure this out after you see the dead corpses laying in the street of Jerusalem.

All those nations with the beast attack Jerusalem and will make her desolate and naked.

Those nations that hate the prostitute will all be in Jerusalem after the take it.

Now unless you believe the United states,Canada or Russia is Jerusalem ,then the city which sits on seven hills is Jerusalem in Israel.

And both revelation and Zechariah shows the Lord goes and fights against those nations that attack the prostitute.

Some translations use the word HILL but the text uses the word 'oros' and its meaning is better translated 'mountain' NOT HILL.  

Rome does not sit on seven mountains!  It doesn't even sit on seven hills!  There are seven hills on the East side of the Tiber River. 'Vatican Hill' sits on the west side of the Tiber. THAT MAKES 8 HILLS TOTAL!  And the word 'hills' is an incorrect translation.  OROS IS A MOUNTAIN NOT HILL!  

The 7 hills on the east side of the Tiber, are too small to be designated as 'mountains'.  Strong's specifically states that a hill is lower than a mountain.  Rome's seven hills are so small, typically between 200 to 500 feet, and appear as 'little nubs' when viewed from a distance.

The city of seven mountains is Jerusalem.

"Babylon must sit on or occupy seven mountains, and I believe those mountains are the seven mountains that surround Jerusalem." 

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore, the psalmist writes. (Psalm 125:2) 

These mountains are Mount Zion (southwest, 2558 ft.), 
Mount Gareb (west, 2518 ft.), Mount Scopus (north, 
2724 ft.) Mount of Olives (east, 2641 ft.
Mount of Offense (southeast, 2411 ft.) 
Mount of Evil Counsel 
(south, 2548 ft.) and at the center, 
Mount Moriah (the temple mount, 2556 ft.) 

Jerusalem is the only city on planet earth that God has personally deemed as His own, and upon it there now stands an abomination called, "The Dome of the Rock."

Listen to the words spoken in 2 Baruch 48: 37 in relevance to Muslim terrorist and Islam. 

"Envy shall rise in those who had no though of themselves, and passion shall rise in him who was peaceful. Many shall be stirred up in anger to injure many, and they shall rouse up all men in order to shed blood, and in the end they will all perish together." 

 

You are right that the city relates to mountains not hills. But I believe the city relates to both mountains and hills. The city was built on 7 hills, but at the same the this city relates to 7 mountains. The way this is done is that there are 7 mountains that line up to each other. The last mountain, the 7th one has the same latitude as this city. I have taken the liberty of projecting these mountain latitude positions on to a Google Earth map of the USA.

I did not find any significant match between the 5th and 6th mountains and USA landmarks.

I like your thread here and am going to make a few comments...however...

This is not actually correct Stormy...God's "Holy City" is already here on earth...and it is not limited to Jerusalem Israel.

Is this another one of those what could be an important and fruitful discussion thread that simply ceases…is that because ya’ll got these “seven mountains & the woman” symbols figured out?

It does not look like it really…the progression of understanding that comes from the knowledge of what these symbols represent…is essential to envisioning the interpretation of the symbology leading to a more clear and precise “picture” of the lord’s plans to conclude the age. How important is that?  

For those who believe they have all the correct interpretations of these things…there is no further discussion…I get that…they are not going to change their perspective because to do so…threatens their entire belief structure…which the scripture shows us they are very unlikely to do…that is the spirit of religion.

However for the rest of us and anyone else really…how about another go?

It would seem that the Revelation 17 depictions of things are some of the final judgments of this age…that are yet future for the most part. It is important to make that distinction when working through these prophetic references.

In that sense…they represent the summation of things since creation…things that have been working through human civilization from the time of creation onward, and now it is the summation of things. A marvelous thing about the Book of Revelation is…it introduces the finality of things.

This now scarlet beast full of blasphemous names having seven heads and ten horns has a “woman” dressed in purple and scarlet sitting on it…nice the beast and the harlot are in matching attire. The mark on her forehead was "BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH."

The scripture says the seven heads…seven mountains…seven kings…many waters…on which the woman sits…also has the ten horns who are ten kings.

Let me start with this…have we positively identified this “woman?” That will likely be necessary at some point because she is sitting upon these “mountains/scarlet beast.”

So the dragon’s beast upon whom the harlot is sitting…at the end of the day…is nothing less than the satanically empowered and authorized “kings or rulers of the earth”...simply put…the beast is…the “kings of the earth” over humanity…under the dragons command…who seems to have granted “temporary authority” to “her.” Ok so that is interesting in and of itself. This is synonymous with the “seven heads or mountains” which are referenced as “kings” and the “ten horns” which are “kings” also.

Ok so the picture is playing out like this…apparently you have the “great city of Babylon”…which is long gone…not only sitting on…but in my mind riding and in command of…thinking of a horse and its rider…the dragons beast/kings/waters/mountains…at least for a time.

Babylon as a city is long gone…and since the picture as it plays out here…on earth…in Revelation 17 is yet future…it cannot be the actual physical city of Babylon…what is it then? I would suggest that it is the “evil spirits” the “religion” that ruled in Babylon during its kings and dynasty. History has it that these spirits came through the flood…and I’ll leave that there…if you know…you know.

A “great city” [the most powerful religious demonic] sitting atop of the dragon’s beast…”ruling the kings of the earth”…wow…the religion of Babylon was basically and simply known as “man is god”…if man does what pleases man…”god is pleased” and thereby “man is god.” Isn’t that what the serpent told Eve? The quote Moses was given went something like this…”For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

The scene here is wild…really…I mean the kings of the earth are likely demonic personages themselves! This woman…this harlot is also likely to be revealed in the “natural [earthly] and spiritual [heavenly]” as well. The prophetic picture we get from Brother John…who has been “spiritually” called to “come up here…through the open door into heaven” by the one he saw…who was “one like a son of man.” So he…John is “in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day” with Christ in the highest heaven…when he is receiving these amazing visions and revelations.

That likely…in part…explains the use of types, shadows, metaphors, analogies, symbols…etc…because John’s visions look to be “playing out” if you will…in the created spiritual heavens…which he has grown to discern/interpret and understand and speak...to some degree. Additionally…all of the spiritual symbology and the like…have been referenced all throughout the scripture from Genesis 1 on.

Continuing on...

So the scriptural and spiritual interpretations are here…for the “Holy Spirit indwelt sons of God called to seek the deep things in the mind of their God and Father.” The heavens and the earth were created and therefore “not eternal”…and they were created by and for the Son of God. This is of import in regards to any “end of the age” revelation and spiritual understanding.

I think of it this way…this is just a picture…there is eternity and this creation hangs in eternity…like a pendant on the necklace around the neck of our eternal God and Father of creation. As I stated earlier…creation has a beginning…so it has an ending…because it is not eternal. So the Spirit of God streams into creation from eternity…because it should be obvious that creation cannot “contain” the eternal God within whom creation itself exists.

It seems as though the highest of the heavens…He created for Himself…which is where His throne is…while it is in creation...that is. The throne of God being the symbolic seat of His eternal “power and authority” in creation…is where our eternal God first reveals His plans or intentions for His creation.

By this I mean…His eternal mind is revealed into the heavens…which perhaps…is like a “staging area” for the “mind and will” of God for His creation. As the ages of this creation pass…the Spirit inspired writers of scripture were/are granted access to the mind of God as revealed from eternity into the heavens.

Now in the case of John the apostle…he like Paul…claims to have been taken to the highest heavens into the throne room and then given revelation directly from the Lord Yahshua Himself. Seemingly that is why John…the Lords last of the 12 original “living apostles” is taken into the highest created heaven where he…by the way “sees and describes the entire environment surrounding the throne of God”…and he is subsequently given the “Revelation of how the Lord Yahshua Christ means to conclude this creation age.”

I wrote all of that to frame where our Brother John seems to and claims to have been…in the highest of the created heavens…in other words the “throne room” if you will? So doubtless…he is receiving revelation from the “Eternal One” directly…and this specifically concerning the conclusion of “this age and creation itself.”      

Perhaps John the apostle is seeing and understanding…to some degree…“what has been rolled out into creation…what is being rolled out to creation…what will be rolled out into creation…and…how this creation is consummated?”

If that is what we are reading and studying here in the book of Revelation…and I think that it is…then clearly as “Last Daze” noted…we are being given “prophetic insight” into the “heavenly spiritual realm” of the Lord Yahshua…and therefore we are…for those of us who actually are…that is…being taught to “understand…interpret and speak” to the “dual nature of...earthly natural kingdoms as well as heavenly spiritual kingdoms?”

Of course the Pharisee’s and Tartuffe’s of this age on these forums who already know everything about how the age is going to conclude…with them safely tucked in the heavenlies no less…speak as fools…for they have little to no understanding of what they speak…because some of what is yet to come…in this age…has yet to be revealed. It is these who bring confusion and contention…this is because they feel that their “revelation” which is from men 50…100…500 and more years ago was and is complete today…they error.

They fail to understand that when that which was once prophesied in antiquity comes to its day of fulfillment a..."this is that"...moment as Peter put it on Pentecost...then and only then is the mind of God made know to His own for their bread and water...for that day.

This brings us full circle by the way…the harlot who is sitting on the seven heads…many waters…mountains. Her identity is always in full view on the forums…all of them…her lies…her seduction…her deception all in view…however few can recognize her and fewer can or will confront her.

She does not know the Lord…let alone His voice…and as such she cannot know His prophetic plans or will for His creation not to forget understanding the end of the age…it is in this that she deceives many. These think that because they can read, or hear, or see some words…and that they believe they know their meanings…however they cannot…for they are spiritually discerned…not understood by human reasoning…these folks are carnal and if they are children of God at all…very immature.

These are the ones in who the Lord Himself physically stood in front of...and was literally talking to...where He said..."you have never heard His voice...you have never seen is form...and His word is not in you."

She seduces them to reject the Lord and readily as they reject His word…“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.”

Those who are seduced into the worship the whore of Babylon are scheduled to one day soon become one with the dragons beast…and when that beast and its kings tire of her as it seems…they will rend her just as the prophecy says…and she takes with her many if not all of these who believe her lies concerning how this age ends…this is because they stand in complete disregard and denial of who Christ is…because they do not see Him...they see her positioning herself as something she is not...which is then their shared judgment with the false bride.

So the identity of the “seven mountains” is obvious…knowing who “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH” is of much greater importance…shall we?
