Cute video...the young son of Onur who cares for multitudes of stray cats and dogs in Istanbul and in the mountains.

Part of me wonders if there is a viable spay and neuter program for these strays.

We helped reduce several colonies in our city by mostly having them fixed and then released.

Just feeding strays without fixing them only increases the colonies.

But I love seeing the hunger angels being fed!

Yes, Onur does work at getting the stray cats neutered.   It's just that there are so many cats in Istanbul.

He makes some videos showing the cats in carriers in his car with their ears slightly notched signifying they just were neutered.

The problem being unless it is a blanket program ie several vets working full time for at least two weeks in an area  then it wont work ....Neutering the males is often cheaper and more effective but most concentrate on the females . One female left un neutered can produce up to 12 kittens in a year  but one male left un neutered can impregnate hundred  females in a year
