Not a cloud of guilt, nor any evil power of control remains for the believer in the Lord Jesus! The "old man," at rebirth, has lost both its "condemnation" (Ro 8:1) and "dominion" (Ro 6:14) on the believer. The guilt is gone because Christ has taken its curse; and its power to cause the believer to desire sin is annulled because "God works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure" (Phl 2:13), instead of our evil pleasure.

Though the Christian possess the old man, which continues to tempt, the power of the Lord Jesus takes the place of the power to desire sin and do evil. This is where God is most glorified--in that from now on the believer is ever controlled by the indwelling Spirit of God, "against which there is no law (opposition - Gal 5:23); and knowing this is a permanent state gives the greatest encouragement and "exhortation" (Heb 10:25).

God causes believers to "reckon" on His Word so that there will be surety of guidance concerning living according to His "pleasure;" and He will not fail here in those who are His!

You are trying to say something but I don't like it because I do not see it clearly in scripture. If you make it simple perhaps I will see it in scripture and like it. Please make it digestible simple.

It sounds like what a guy on christian forums said and Torben Söndergaard in a youtube video called Cafe talk. He explains it really simple there. He takes a sugar package, holds it up in the air and it drops because there's the law of gravity. He read Romans 6. He said read Romans 6. You died with Christ. The law of sin was working in our flesh. You sin and you have to sin again, just like smoking. But now when you get that revelation that you really died with Christ you don't have to sin anymore. Romans 7 is the struggle and in the end Paul prays Lord deliver me of this body of death and then Romans 8 is the victory, living being lead by the Spirit and putting to death the works of the flesh. The guy from cf was addicted to porn 38 years. He fasted, prayed, couldnt stop. Eventually he said: God I give up. And God said: With this my son I am well pleased. I knew all along that you couldn't do it. He had to confess that he died and rose with Christ and then was instantly set free. A former gay guy on youtube, I think he lead some organization, he had an experience with a pedo as a kid and became homosexual. Someone took him to a church. He had to see his old self in Jesus on the cross. He got a new nature. He is now married and has 9 kids. Or maybe I'm mixing 2 up now. Another former gay guy said the same thing. Maybe he saw that at that service, that his sinful nature died with Jesus on the cross. Anyway they both got set free by it.

Hi and appreciate what you're saying! Maybe if you could bring out some particular Scriptures we might have something we can discuss.

Thank you I was looking at Philippians 2:13 "God works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure" (Phl 2:13),

(instead of our evil pleasures.) This is not part of the scripture and it us not polite to say "instead of evil pleasure". I do not accept this as an accurate statement and you are talking about believers. And even for unbelievers it is not an accurate statement because there unbelievers who are very kind people. Paul met some of them and he commented about them. And the people who seek to harm him were the people of the Sinai Covenant. The Gentiles offered him their hospitality. Paul would never say that, but now I understand that "God works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure" (Phl 2:13),

( instead of our evil pleasure) is not part of the scriptures.

As believers we can have our own way of life but that does not mean that our life is full of evil pleasure. No definitely not. To work and take care of your children is not an evil pleasure. Even if you do not go to church. Jesus said that we can worship him in spirit and in truth.  Not here or there and that too in the churches also no problem with that.

Yes, the statement "instead of our evil pleasures" is just my words. It means if we weren't born again we would still be in our sin!

Concerning going to Church, you will not grow much in Christ (Eph 4:15; Rom 8:29; 2Co 3:18) if you're not in Church! Church fellowship with other Christians is the primary means God uses to teach us His mind and will. Many Christians stunt their growth in Christ by being out of Church; Christ's most important command is to love one another (Jhn 15:12). It's my understanding that one would need to be in a Church (Bible believing church, many putting the Word aside more or less) regularly to claim they love the saints. How else could it be done?

Greetings @WordSword

There is a few issues for discussion in your post and there is one in your first paragraph. When you said "if we were not born again we will still be in our sin". That is not a complete statement because it does not say who said that and to whom it was told and the most important how could that be. That what the one who hears that statement expects to hear. If you please fill in the blanks as to know what you were thinking about how someone is not in his sin.

   *When Jesus said to the Jews at the time when the Sinai Covenant was still in effect and their sins were forgiven by the blood of the lamb of the Atonement and Jesus said that knowing that he will soon die on the Cross for the forgiveness of the sins of both Jews and Gentiles and some of the Jews will not believe in him and Jesus said to them in John 8: that if you do not believe in me you will die in your sins, and from the Gospel of John 16:8-9 NIV    8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me;

Malachi 3:1-3

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.  But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:  And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

Jesus is the great gold and silversmith.  And we are the ore.  He refines us, burning away the worldly and selfish impurities, until we are pure, and he clearly sees his own reflection in us, be cause he is in us.

Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
