Revelation 16:2 and the Euphrates river

This is old news, I know, but in case you did not know yet....

Revelation 16:12

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.

This would be like drying up this Mississippi.

The Ataturk dam is the largest in a series of dams located in southeastern turkey on the euphrates. It has the capacity to stop the river's flow for a little while, anyway. The project was completed in 1990. When John wrote this prophecy 2000 years or so ago, it probably couldn't be imagined how it could be fufilled. How else could this be possible with man untill 1990?

I think we have a possiblaty . When who knows ?? But anytime soon , unless the government desides to go into WW3 . Then we would be in real danger . Terror was the pretext . I dont want to be here when everything goes down .

The answer to your question is in Jeremiah 46. Gods Judgement on Egypt, which has happened long ago. Reading the whole chapter it tells who invaded from the east, who invaded from the north and who won.

Jeriemiah 46:2 Concerning Egypt:

This is the message against the army of Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt, which was defeated at Carchemish on the Euphrates River by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:

I read about a battle at the Euphrates when Babylon attacks Egypt, and Egypt lost....but I don't see anyplace where the Euphrates was dried up. Unless you believe that "on the Euphates River" in vs 2 is literally 'on top of' meaning the river would have to be dried up, I don't think so. Many towns build right next to rivers are said to be 'on' such and such river.

The only referance to east or north I see in this chapter is 46:6 "The swift cannot flee nor the strong escape. In the north by the River Euphrates they stumble and fall.

No, I don't think Revelation 16:12 and this chapter in Jerimiah are the same at all.
