Like when Moses asked Him "who should I say sent me?" and God told him - "just tell them "I AM" sent you.

Guest yod
this question comes up about 3 times a year. It has been exhaustively discussed so I'm not interested in going into it again...but basically it is because jewish people consider God's name so holy that they call Him "HaShem" which literally means "The Name (which no one says)" any reference to His name in the Old Testament is rendered as LORD so even we as christians observe this in some form So the answer to the question is that it is done in respect to His name and to jewish people. But this conversation usually degrades to a soft humiliation towards anyone who wishes to do this.

I will still be calling God by name, coz the disiples called Jesus by name, and the Holy Spirit by name, and the father by name, before and after Jesus died, and God hasnt convicted me for leaving all 3 letters in there, (which i asked Him to do if it wasnt okay). So to those of you that type G-d, please dont take my typing GOD as an insult or anything. God has not marked the " - " a necessity to me. Thanks for your replies everyone! I dont mind this thread being closed now, just wanted a simple answer. Got it. Thankyou!!
