For Canada, the Governor General (Queen's representative) has the final say in any legislation that is passed. I think, however, that they feel their position is very tenuous, so I don't think she's ever denied something that has already passed through all the other levels of government. I believe it's a similar situation in Great Britain, only the royal family has (I think) seats in more levels of government. The Queen's main influence (as well as the rest of the Royal Family's, though I don't know that they take it quite so seriously), it appears, is in the area of morale. *shrug* But I'm a little fuzzy on my knowledge of British politics. I know this sounds dumb, but we actually spent more time learning about French politics than British politics in highschool...I was in French Immersion, so I guess my teachers (been of French descent themselves) were more interested in that.
