It is poetry set to music in it's simplest form. I hardly doubt anyone would find a fault in reading poetry, but yet they find fault in poetry set to instrumentation. One of my favorite Hank Williams songs has the following line: Did you ever see a robin weep When leaves began to die Like me, he's lost the will to live I'm so lonesome I could cry Haven't we all felt that way at one time or another? Even though I'm a Christian, yes, I've felt that way. Felt like I couldn't go on and wanted to cry. Oft times I find comfort in singing some sad song because it expresses the way I feel at the moment.

I don't really listen to Rock music. If your gonna chastise me for listening to the rest. I ususally listen to the lyrics before I like the song. I'm more of a lyric person anyways. Right now my favorite song is secular. Natasha Bedingfield "Unwritten" I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your innovations Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins The rest is still unwritten Oh, oh, oh I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inner visions Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins The rest is still unwritten Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inner visions Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken Live your life with arms wide open Today is where your book begins The rest is still unwritten The rest is still unwritten The rest is still unwritten Oh, yeah, yeah
Guest riggins
As for Manson, musically, he's a reasonably talented individual (although nowhere nearly as talented as Trent Reznor, of NIN fame). He also seems to be a reasonably intelligent person, although there is definitiely something...off about him. As for whether or not he's a Satanist, I don't think he is (although I won't deny the possibility that he led some youngsters to Satanism, which is in no way cool). From what I gather, he's an Athiest, but he knows how to push peoples buttons. Think about it: he pushes Conservative America's buttons, and there is a media backlash, giving him FREE publicity, which draws America's rebellious youth even further to him. You see the cyvle there? Break it, ignore him and he'll eventually go away. yeah, he's an atheist. i used to be into his music, but his stuff is too softcore he likes to push conservative america's buttons because it's so easy! they get their panties in a bunch every time somebody does something "wrong". but they've got to face the fact that not every body's into what they're into. is he corrupting the youth? not in my opinion. they'll listen to his music for a little, then move on with their lives. somebody will most likely bring up the columbine kids who listened to him. my response to that is: the music didn't make them kill, people did. do really think they turned on his music and said "yo lets kill some people". no. kids/teachers/whoever were being jerks to them, and as a result they listened to "hardcore" music to vent. when the music could no longer do it for them, they saw only one way out - death; for themselves and the ones who pushed them state. is music evil? no. are people? very much so. Perhaps there are good metal groups out there, but frankly, metal is metal in my mind. Even if KISS and Ozzie aren't truly Satan worshippers and it's all an act, it's an act that I would want no part of! Personally I can't even stand Christian Metal, lol! Some years ago I heard Stryper performing "To Hell With The Devil" (which, to me, is an inappropriate title to begin with!) and, before I actually knew what it was, I was cringing at the sound of the music. This seems to be more of a personal taste issue to me. Metal isn't for everyone As for Manson, musically, he's a reasonably talented individual (although nowhere nearly as talented as Trent Reznor, of NIN fame). I read Manson's autobio before I was saved. I encourage anyone who doesn't believe of his connections to Satanism to do the same.

They have amazing quotes from the artists themselves. At this site - there is a 25 minutes preview of their video. I have the 10 hour version and it is amazing information and valuable to warn parents of what is out there today. http://goodfight.org/ _____________________ Edited September 5, 2006 by Citizen
