Hope that helps in clarifiying the tenses. We have been saved as human beings, our eternal existance has been restored, we are being saved relative to our souls, which will be consumated at the end where one can then say, he has been saved, IF we remained faithful to HIM.

thanks to that, and i think we agree on more things on your post. although not all, like the personal savior issue. I don't believe that Jesus is my personal savior but rather He is the savior of the Body Headed by Him where I belong.

The bottom line is, I agree on your conclusion that we have been saved and restored, we are being saved, and we shall be saved (i still prefer to use the words that Paul used) IF we remained faithful to HIM. and remaining/staying faithful for me it is an act/work needed for us to be saved

John 6:29 - Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

You guys are so obsessed with "my works, my works, my works" you have forgotten about Jesus.

Is salvation about how good you are or how good Jesus is?

Is your faith and trust in you or in Jesus?

If your works are about your salvation, then they are not about love for others, and that is a violation of 1 Corinthians 13. Plain and simple.

I'd leave it closed to give the discussion a rest. :24: I would like share something in closing though.

I find it interesting how so many people from so many different belief systems place their faith in their works. I wrote a Muslim friend of mine recently on the very matter and I explained...

God made it clear throughout His Word that good works do not save. Only believing God will credit us with righteousness. Paul wrote of Abraham, "If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about
