My theory is if you have to ask yourself if it is wrong to do then I would sence that is Someone telling me that I should not be feeding my spirit these things. There is a lot of junk out there and we Christians take it too lightly that there are things we should not open ourselves up to. We really do need to listen to our hearts about all things!! :noidea:
well said

Should Christians watch supernatural-themed television programs?

I noticed this line in your question its about these supernatural programmes as oppsed to ordinary stuff on tv, yes??

Personally that is the same as the occult, they are opening doors that should be left alone.

My answer would be I would not watch it at all, big KEEP AWAY sign for me.

Many great men of God read classical Greek literature. Christians should not become ignorant of the classics just because it is not penned by a Christian author. However, there is nothing on tv that could be considered great literature.

If you want to watch a supernatural themed TV show you could always try Psyche - it's merely pretending to have supernatural content anyway :emot-hug:

I do watch TV - I really enjoy shows like Kitchen Nightmares, documentaries, and sports - but I try to watch less because I gain more benefit from reading books and articles.

a great big bold NO WAY

it is biblically clear. try psalm 1:

Oh, the joys of those who do not

follow the advice of the wicked,

or stand around with sinners,

or join in with mockers.

there is plenty more in the bible about what one puts up with, allows, tolerates that i don't have time to find. some have used peter's vision to apply to this but i don't see how it can. that's like comparing apples and oranges.

If your conscious says "no" this is bad then don't watch it. if you don't have a guilty conscious then you are free to watch. Each person has to decide according to their own conscious towards God. but the one who has the freedom to watch should not condemn those who don't watch and those who don't have the freedom to watch should not condemn those who do watch for it is a matter of personal consciousness towards God and them. In other words "make up your own mind"

So if you think taking poison will hurt you then don't do it. But if you think taking poison is ok then go right ahead.

That's sound doctrine. :sad030:

I started a post a while back that dealt with which is more dangerous; Beatles or Stones?

The premise was that the Stones were up front about glorifying satan while the Beatles appeared light and fluffy but had underlying satanic themes.

I would think most TV could fall into these to categories. When you watch a supernatural show, you know you are looking the enemy straight in the eye, while things like CSI and the news would have a more subtle effect and you might not notice the brainwashing mechanism in action.

Just my opinion. :sad030:
