Will we ever learn? I fully admit that I am a sinner, Neb. But we can't close our eyes to the sin of our "spiritual leaders". We need to face it and deal with it. We need to try to understand it so as to prevent it in the future. Someone here made a good point....Is there something that we as a Church could do differently to make it possible to support those leaders who struggle against private sin? It's not finger-pointing, Neb. It's discussing and trying to understand. The whole thing is sad and pathetic. God help him. God help us all. Peace, Fiosh

When I first heard this a few days again I thought, "Another pastor of a megachurch caugh got caught with his hand in the cookie jar--so to speak." This whole thing makes me very angry. We are all sinners, of that there is no question. I am probably the worst one here, but we don't all go seeking out sexual gratification from prostitutes! We dont all go and buy meth because we are curious--oh please...who believes that?!?! And we don't stand behind a pulpit and tell others how to live their lives or vote. This man had a sacred trust and flaunted it. Frankly, this whole affair disgusts me, makes me angry and grieves me. People like Haggard have NO clue about the damage they have done to the Church universal. As if Christiantity doesn't already have an image problem; the world sits back and says, "Here's another hypocrit!" and they're right. Who in their right mind would ever, EVER trust this man again? I mean, look at what he has done to his wife! It's shameful. I wouldnt trust him with my kids in the same room with him at this moment. I pray for his restoration, and I know he is forgiven--assuming he has asked for it from his heart, but he's gonna have to do a whole lot to regain an iota of respect and trust from me.
