I was wondering. I know that the bible says that God ordains marriage and hates divorce, but is every marriage ordained by God. What I am trying to say is, Do you think that just because two people get married, it means that, that marriage was ordained by God. Do you think sometimes a man and a woman can get together for the wrong reasons? Has anyone ever thought that this person isn't the one for me, but because we already have children and we are saved now and can't live in sin anymore, we should just get married. Is anyone married, but don't think that it was ordained by God??

I don't know about you, but I said my vows in a church and delared my intent to love and cherish in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, till death do us part.

With that, I made God and family and friends and my husband a promise that I am bound to under God.

I don't always feel I married the right person, but sometimes I have to stand on a promise only:>) My husband is a good husband in many ways. so maybe he makes it a little easier for me to keep my promise.

Not only that, when there are children involved, they need BOTH thier parents TOGETHER. You didn't create those kids without him so why would you want to raise them without him? It is not an easy life and the choice to leave is almost always wrong.

Marriages require work and patience. God didn't promise us that we would have wonderful married lives or that sometimes thoughts and feelings wouldn't try to overrule a decision we made many years ago. But love is not always a feeling either, sometimes when we don't feel like loving, we have to keep doing the right thing and acting in love anyway. Love is an action word sometimes, not just a feeling.

I do believe that when two people marry it is ordained by God. And I do believe that we feel much better about ourselves when we obay God and keep on doing the right thing, even if it's hard sometimes

no, i do not believe every marriage is ordained by God. i believe many people get married without seeking God's will for their lives.

however, every marriage CAN be BLESSED by God, if the husband and wife submit themselves to Him.

If you want to know what God's will was for today, wait till tomorrow and look back. THAT was God's will. Nothing is out of the control of God and even our mistakes and whatnot have been allowed by God. Maybe it wasn't the brightestthing in the world to do BUT if God had decided this was absolutely not something he wanted *to happen, it wouldn't have happened.

I must speak from personal experience in this one. God is definitely about making good come from the midst of our messes. This includes bad marriages also, but I do not believe that every marriage is ordained by God. In my own personal experience I was a worldly Christian - meaning I did my hour a week - that is about it. I knew that what I was doing was wrong - marrying the guy I married. But everything I did back then was wrong. I did not listen to the counsel given by my dad and married him anyway. I did not know about the voice of God although now I know that He was trying to stop me. Today I am divorced and have two teenage sons who are the good that God made of the messed up marriage I lived in. So I do not believe that GOD ordains all marriages.

But it happened - He knew the choice that I would make and loved me enough to make a bad thing good, my experiences have allowed me to minister to many people about marriage. So thank you Lord. ;)

I believe that everything we do is ordained by God.

Proverbs 16:1 We can gather our thoughts, but the Lord gives the right answer.

Proverbs 16: 9 We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.

Proverbs 16:33 We may throw the dice but the Lord determines how they fall.

Proverbs 19:21 You can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail.

Proverbs 20:24 How can we understand the road we travel? It is the Lord who directs our steps.

Jeremiah 10:23 I know, Lord, that a person's life is not his own. No one is able to plan his own course.

Psalm 37:23-24

The steps of the Godly are directed by the Lord

He delights in every detail of their lives

Thought they stumble, they will not fall,

for the Lord holds them by the hand.

I believe that everything we do is ordained by God.

Then you are blaming God for your own sin. This is blasphemy. James said that God does not tempt man to sin.

God was SORRY that he made man, because man sinned (Gen. 6:5). To say that the fall was ordained by God is simply a lie. This is why the predestination doctrine is so satanic, because you say that God caused or else wanted all the evil that has happened in the world, but John and James both say that is not possible, that God CANNOT do evil and can't tempt people to do evil.

What version is that again? Those are terribly rendered translations, and ones that were made, I might quickly add, with obvious bias towards the perverse predestination doctrine.

It is a shame that people have gone so far as to change the Bible itself in order to support the perverted fatalist doctrine of predestination.

I agree with you whysoblind. We have the right to choose what we do. God has destined us to be what he wants us to be, but sometimes we choose the long way around. And sometimes that can be marrying the wrong person. But what ever God's will is for us, it will be done.

I thought a lot about this post- and I think that if you believe in God, he will take care of you.

I was engaged up until about a month ago when God pretty much slapped me in the face to show me that this guy was not for me. He could have let the marriage happen- but he didn't.

For some reason- God wanted your marriage to happen. I think it's natural for anyone to feel some doubts- sheesh we live in a place where there are BILLIONS of men to choose from. This makes things very easy for the enemy....

I think you and your husband should seek marital counseling to get past these issues and work toward a happy and satisfying marriage. I'm praying for you.

Why do we often suggest that our will is more soveriegn than God's will? In all of life, you will find out that God is Soveriegn and ONE MUST SEE IT so else we would run into temptations of guilt and condemnation. Why do pple die after having so much faith in God?....His soveriegnity explains that. Why do bad things happen to good pple?....His soveriegnity explains that. There are areas where your will comes into to play but His sovereignity over-rides all that. I have seen God teach me this...."only the counsel of the lord will stand". If you doubt me, ask Pharoah, the bible says God purposely hardened his heart so He could show forth His glory, if you doubt me, the apostles, the bible say He will HAVE MERCY ON WHOM HE CHOOSES TO HAVE MERCY. He is more soverign than our little frigid hearts have accrued Him. We must be able to balance our teachings or knowledge of God's word based on scriptures.

The sacrament of marriage is always ordained by God--per His Word. But the only way we can know if a marriage is ordained by God is by asking "Did you ask & seek God for help in choosing your mate? If not then as you said ...many marry for the wrong reasons ie. looks, but after getting married they can turn the marriage around by seeking God in their relationship if they search together and invite God to work. He is all about marriage & once a couple is married they should definitely know that God will work with them in their marriage to the good. If children are involved, definitely seek God to help you through because the blessings that come to your household will be far greater than you can imagine. And since the children weren't asked before they were brought into this world they deserve two birth parents who are willing to work at being a family. God is into redemption & he can redeem even what seems like an impossible situation if we allow Him to. Since children are already involved this person must have some qualities that speak to your heart. Ask God to help you get past the ifs & buts and the escape clauses & show you what he sees for your life. He has a destiny & a future & since it seems you've taken a detour, ask Him to help you get back on track. I'll be praying for you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
