For instance, when you are faced with fear - Psalms 91 and 121 will suddenly become very meaningful to your current situation - and you'll want to repeat them over and over as prayers and to strengthen your faith. Or if you desire to learn how to live more righteously, Proverbs and the Epistles have great guidelines. Or when a friend is discouraged and you want to encourage them, it's wonderful to pull out a Scripture verse that encourages them to have hope. Then reading Scripture is more than pushing the peddle, but enjoying the scenery as well. True, and this is a good reason for studying the Bible, even if it's just to know where all these scriptures that you mentioned, are. THanks and God bless

There is no option. A Christian in name only will get a rude awakening one day, "Depart from me, for I never knew you." The Holy Spirit in you yearns for things of God, and reading the Bible is one way to satisfy that hunger. If you don't yearn, then you need to ask God why and make that right with Him. reconditioned: You have blurred two things together. A person isn't responsible for the gifts of the spirit growing up from within them but he is responsible for his actions according to his will. A person isn't going to make themselves a master piece of God, that the whole point of Jesus doing that very thing for a person. Well, the Holy Spirit actually, but thats why we work for God here isn't it? seriously, since when were God's people in charge of God's plans for their lives? How many of us would be where were are at all ever if we could contribut to the Holy Spirits work here? The best one can do is be willing to cooperate You have blurred two things together. We are God's masterpieces..He makes us! But He cannot if we are disobedient and unco-operative with Him. We are in charge of saying yes or no to God! Thanks for explaining that. Doesn't sound like something to strive for. I hope the reason I get tired is something mundane like eyes getting old...
