John 9

1. And as he passed by, he saw a man blind from his birth.

2. And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind?

3. Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Way to go, Giaour. :P

We will have to agree to disagree on this

and really, that is fine, bro

It is completely reasonable that you would disagree with me. I expect it from everyone. I'm only saying "schma" (hear) and nothing else.

on a scriptural level, it is entirely consistant for God to

1. Send warnings through natural disasters

2. Send judgement on those who do not heed the warnings

It doesn't offend me if no one here believes me...yet or ever. I am secure in my belief, however, that now those who have heard will remember when it happens again.

It doesn't cause me to disfellowship with anyone or threaten my security in the Lord in the slightest for everyone to think I'm crazy...so I don't understand why anyone would get offended at me either.

I think Adonai is SHOUTING but unless one has followed it like I have, I wouldn't expect them to understand without some kind of factual investigation.

(A White House correspondant has done that, btw...)

No one listens and disaster keeps happening.

I'll take a wild stab at the next thing you should watch and we'll see, ok?

Does anyone remember what 9/11 stopped?

There was to be a UN vote in NYC that very day for the Saudi Plan that got cancelled....until now.

This disastrous "plan" has been recently repackaged and is floating around again. The only difference is Ehud Olmert would probably compromise Israel easiernow than Sharon might have on Sept 11th, 2001.

Something is about to happen where a good decision will bless America and a bad one will curse us. Just want all to be prepared to "schma" when it happens again. I'm confident it will...and dread that it will be soon. Follow the news and watch.

Not exactly sure why most Americans don't think we could lose in a battle with God.

What do you think was God's role on the flooding of New Orleans in late August/early September 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina?

What it God's will that it flooded?

Was He 100% involved?

0% involved?

50% involved?

If He was involved, why didn't He prevent it from happening?

Could He have prevented it?

Why do you think it happened?

What should the inhabitants of New Orleans do to prevent another similar or worse disaster than that from happening again?

Are they doing it? (whatever your answer is)

May the love of Jesus be in us

Cool!

God's Way

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:"

"Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:6)

God's Promise

"Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:"

"And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:"

"And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." (Genesis 12:1-3)

God's Counsel

"Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,"

"Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?"

"Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me."

"Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding."

"Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?"

'Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;"

"When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?" (Job 38:1-7)

God's Counsel

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalms 46:10)

God's Safety

"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety." (Psalms 4:8)

:24:

"I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth." (Isaiah 62:6-7)

Good News America

"Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;"

"Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people." (Isaiah 56:6-7)

Bad News America

"The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him."

"All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest."

"His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber."

"Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter."

"Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant." (Isaiah 56:8-12)

Promise

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

The Day

[10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

[11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness," (2 Peter 3:10-11)

Home Home At Last

[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?"

[13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness." (2 Peter 3:12-13)

Right from day one God explained that life on this earth was going to be an uphill battle. He gave the world prophets in the OT an warned everone all kinds of nasties would befall the world if they didn't shape up. Jesus warned us that there would be all kinds of strife such as wars and rumours and floods and earthquakes and plagues and so forth, but It doesn't say that He would cause them to happen.

I don't believe there was any more Godlessness in Florida than any other part of the world.

But I'll say this, no one messes with His land or His people, and influencing the Israel govt, to forge ahead with the road map peace plan, was pushing the envelope a bit far. Now I wouldn't go as far as saying God caused Katrina, rather, He looked the other way and turned His attention to His Godly people and thought something along the lines, I warned you, keep your dirty grub hooks off my people and the land I gave them.

Well something like that :24:

:24: People need to wake up.

I agree, people do need to wake up.

Me personally, I think it was an act of judgement, new orleans" was a pretty bad area, america's been turning away from the Lord. America has been slipping farther and farther away from the Lord, it's really sad, and I think more disasters will occure.

Now as far as it being Bush's fault, not so sure, if it was or wasn't so I am staying out of that area of the flood, it's too deep, to many drown.

I will say, God has authority over all things, and what he allows to happen, happens for a reason, I honestly do believe it was judgement. Now one thing I noticed though is it brought alot of people closer in unity and prayer through this event.

I do not know the mind of God. I just trust in him.

I have heard some compelling stories to confirm it was a judgement from God.

As well as stories about the tsunami in Indonesia.

Hurricane Katrina - to do with Homosexuality and voodoo/black magic.

Tsunami - Child peadophilia-being a haven for the world wide network of child pornography/molestation.

Hi inj,

though what you say is true about the homosexuallity and black magic and paedophillia. All those practices are rampant in every country in the world. I don't think that God sits on His throne and zaps certain places on the globe and let's others off scott free. I don't know the figures, but there must be perhaps ninety % of the population of the world who are Godless anyway.

Just because the pews are filled with people, doesn't mean they are all repentant spirit-filled christians. The apostacy that is mentioned in the bible, is gaining momentum each day, Christ and Him crucified is getting pushed into the dark corners of the post modern churches, who instead of building bridges between man and God, are too busy trying to bring a temporal peace between nations, more concerned with their physical and medical symtoms instead of healing their spiritual blindness first.

I have prayed with and for people who have a terminal illness, but I always pray that they will receive the holy spirit, as a priority over a cure for their infirmity. What is the point of gaining another year of life on earth, if they are going to spend eternity in damnation.

Sorry if I got a bit off track in this thread. I do rant on sometimes.

Hi Eric, I always read your posts with respect. :o

What you say about other countries facing the same issues is undeniably true.

Having said that, a few months before the tsunami hit, in my town they held a non denominational prayer meet. It was a big do with many different Churches participating. A woman who had been praying intently had a picture of large waves crashing and destroying. I'm pretty sure others had similar "pictures' as well.

But the stories I heard about the tsunami- like the one about a whole lot of Christian Indonesians that were told to hold their Christmas celebrations on a hill out of the way, so as to not annoy and offend the local Muslim community and in doing so, the Christians were saved because of this high hill and the said Muslims drowned, makes me think.

It's like a purging and warning as such from God.
