  1. 1. So, is it really WRONG to bring in your own snacks and drinks to the movie that you paid to see? It's not a LAW, right?

    • No, it's not wrong. The theater prices are highway robbery

Shalom,

I grew up going to drive-ins with my family every Friday night! It was SOOOOO much fun. We had a station wagon and we let the tailgate down and laid our blankets on it and then laid on our tummies to watch the movie. Lots of fun!

So, let me get this straight:

It's okay to sneak food into a movie theater, which ends up costing the movie theater money. It's okay to be dishonest and go against their policy...so long as it benefits you?

I'm not going to start a debate or even pursue this line of thinking...I just want to make sure that's what some of you are saying. :emot-hug:

Bringing an empty water bottle is not against the rules at the theater I go to.

So you fill it up with their water? Let me ask: can you not make it through a movie without water? Just curious.

I agree with your line of thinking except for the costing the theatre more money part. I don't use the concession stand at the movies, nor do I sneak in snacks. Either way, they are not going to gouge me . It's more a matter of respect for the business for me. If they want to charge crazy prices then they just won't get my money. I personally would rather wait for the DVD. Usually if we do go to a theatre, we go for pizza or something beforehand and enjoy the movie with a full stomach.

Hey, yeah, I forgot about that! Years and years ago I had a friend with one of those plastic vans, a Lumina I think it was, and that's what we used to do! Back in, open the back and watch the show. I remember they broadcast the sound over an FM frequency, and her van had great sound! And the nachos were mucho expensive but great!

Shalom,

It's not a law.

It's not costing the theater money.

It's not being dishonest.

And yes, it benefits me.

It also benefits the theater since I'm there paying the ticket price instead of staying home.

Hope you got it straight! :emot-hug:

as I said ....we do not even have the same rules as you do we are not even "requested" to not bring our own snacks and if we are to talk about dishonest is it not dishonest of the cinemas to crank up the heating to make you feel more thirsty and put extra salt into their snacks for the same purpose ? They even water down the drinks as you have to buy the ones from a pipe if you buy from there and they do not always put the right strength of "flavouring" into the water.

Greed doesnt need to be encouraged :taped:
