I believe you actually meant you wanted to dialogue? As for the Controversial Issues forum, the rule was set in place as a matter of Board control. There were some hot topics in there, and some people were joining the board just to debate in that topic. A bit more than that was involved, too. The Mods here have been doing a great job to keep the board from becoming a mess (I used to belong to a Christian forum that was a huge mess because it had no such regulations, so I know how to value such).
