What are Demons? This is an area to which I have given much study throughout my life. What are Demons? They are not fallen angels. We are plainly told by the scriptures that the fallen angels are bound waiting to be loosed at the day and hour when their role is to be fulfilled. So, What are Demons? The answer lies in the pre-Adamic world. If one believes in a pre-Adamic race, the question of what a demon is becomes quite easy. However, if one does not; they are at a scriptural catch 22.

To those that do not believe in a pre-Adamic race, what is a demon?

Jude 1:6 (King James Version)

6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

2 Peter 2:4 (King James Version)

4For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

I'm more interested in what you mean by a "Pre-Adamic" race. Never heard of that, could you elaborate?

If I list scriptures for a pre-adamic world, the thread will shift to a pre-adamic discussion. The entire scriptural basis for the pre-adamic world is found in Dake Reference bible, note between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.

The question I am asking is if one does not believe in a pre-Adamic race, where did demons come from.

We have plain scriptural reference the fallen angels are bound in the pit awaiting judgment or a release for some during the great tribulation.

What is the scriptural basis for this?

As the scriptures show in my O.P. the angels that rebelled with Satan are in Chains awaiting Judgment. We have two clear scriptural references to that. If they are in chains awaiting judgment, how are they loose on the earth as "demons"?

I don't know where it says that they are bound. Satan and the fallen angels are what we war against. The Bible tells us we wrestle not against flesh and blood or things in this natural realm. There are 3 levels of hierarchy in the satans government, principalities, powers, rulers of darkness.

(Ephesians 6:12) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Now their may be more to it than this, but I know cities that have strongholds over them. Communities that every person in the town is proud or self-righteous. I grew up in a town like that. Other cities may have a spirit of murder over them. Have you ever been out driving and go through a town and get the weirdest thought run through your head and wonder where did that come from? Demons are not mentioned in the bible. Familiar spirits and such, these are what we deem as ghosts. They will take on the form of someone we may know or of a previous life. I had a friend who's daughter was sitting on the couch talking to thin air and when dad asked her who she was talking to she said grandpa. She had never known her grandpa, but in the same instance she reached up and kissed him on the cheek, but no one was there. Later she seen a picture of a man and she told her dad that it was him in the room with her. The picture was of her grandfather she had never met.

Blessings

If the fallen angels were bound then why wouldn't satan be bound? We see satan in the gospels tempting Jesus. The Bible even says that the thief come to kill, steal, and destroy. It also refer to satan as god of this world. If the angels were bound I would have to see it in scripture and you would think that it would have to apply to their chief as well. I have never run across it in my KJV

I did find your reference. I believe this is what your refering to. This speaks of 4 angels. When satan was kicked out of heaven a third of the angels went with him. These here have one special assignment, but it does not account for all the others.

The scriputes in my opening post tell you plainly they are bound. They do not say Satan is bound. Satan moved freely about from the Earth to heaven throughout his ministry as Archangel, and he still does so.

The two passages I listed plainly show the angels that followed him in rebellion are bound.

They are in there, the bible that is...look up the scriptures that have satan cast out, devils, spirits, the apostles themselves took Jesus for a GHOST when He walked on water. We have authority to bind them. PPRAISE THE LORD JESUS

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
