For the record, in case it has not been previously pointed out, most of the Western churches have a decidedly Arminianist leaning. Whether it is actually aware of this fact or not remains to be seen.

However, I would say that most of the Western church would probably deny this leaning and confess Calvinism.

But regardless of what your personal leanings are, I think that it bears repeating, that God is supreme. Therefore, you are not saved or doomed to perish by virtue of your adherance to a theological stance, but by virtue of Christ's shed blood alone. I think that it is for this reason that Paul stated that he presumed to know nothing among the Corinthians but Christ, and Him crucified, and that he counted all of his educational and spiritual attainments as loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord.

I believe that God provides the opportunity for salvation and works on our hearts and we have the free will to choose yea or nea. I don't think our choice takes away from HIS Sovereignty. I believe he knows who will be saved but it is not HE who selected it as such.
