My father and I never spoke much about Jesus but as he got older and more fretful, I felt as if I should talk with him. Well, I talked a little but just decided to wait for the right moment to speak to him in depth. Then my husband, daughter, and I moved 2500 miles away from him and I could only talk to him on the phone. I just kept putting off what I knew I should do. I do so understand your pain. I lost my mother years ago and went through the same guilt. There was one thing that did come out of that time that still comforts me, the Bible tells us that His word will not return to Him void.

Isaiah 55:10-11

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,

And do not return there,

But water the earth,

And make it bring forth and bud,

That it may give seed to the sower

And bread to the eater,

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Because you spoke of your concerns to others, they planted the seed. We may never know until we are there ourselves, but we have another promise.

Acts 16:30-32

Thank you for sharing your poem with us. My mother is not saved and she is getting more older and feeble by the year. She belongs to a certain denomination and believes that will get her into heaven. Your post encourages me to keep on sharing with her.

God Bless,

Kathy

Thank all of you for your kind words. I really believe that my dad believed and that at the end he had really accepted Jesus. But had I talked to him sooner, he would have been better off. I just hope and pray that if anyone crosses my path who needs to hear about salvation in Jesus, that I will be bold and speak up, and I hope that others will be bold in their faith and sharing with others, too.
