How come churches put more emphasis on soul winning during revivals and not soul cleaning of the church? Shouldn't there be another set time or times for outreach weeks or something similar to it? Just a thought.

What do you mean by "soul cleaning"?

I always thought the basis for a revival was to re-awaken one's fiery heart for God. So by soul-cleaning, I mean a time to really pour it all out to God. Sure it should be done daily, but I think the greater focus for a revival. Just thinking on the screen for now, thoughts?

I think feelings are deceptive and we shouldn't attempt to always get a "spiritual high." Not that feeling that "spiritual high" is bad in and of itself...I just don't think it should be our goal. If you're always focused on getting that high or fiery passion, how will you make it through those periods where that high just doesn't come? Our faith needs to be based on more than that fiery feeling. It needs to be founded on the Word of God.

Love God and show it (this includes spending time in prayer, in study of the Word, in worship, etc. etc. etc.).

Love others and show it remember that "love does no harm to its neighbour").

Everything else will follow these things.

Have you talked to someone at your church about Small Groups? Most churches now have them, altho not all. Its to make friendships and prayer time and study time along with just fellowship. I wish every church had the ones my church has, its amazing how much the groups can help you in staying on track, finding a prayer partner, etc.

I do agree tho that if youre looking for that 'high' that we all have had many times, if you have that every moment of everyday then you wont be equipped to handle when youre tempted by things. The bible tells us we will have hard times as well as very happy times. Small Groups are what really brought me on track when I wasnt feeling that "in touch" so to speak with Christ. I knew He was there, I knew I was loved, something was just off with me for a few months, and the small group I joined put me right back on track.

God Bless~
