The guidance booklet that i got along with the application form from my local recruitment office says: The Armed Forces encourage enlistment by people of many different religions and beliefs. However, it must be clear that you may be required to use aggression and/or to take life during your career within the Armed Forces. Whats scripture mention about this. If i kill an enemy in battle, is it murder? Chances are if i become an infantry soldier i'll be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan so i'll be fighting extremist islamic sects. But remember if you live by the sword...you may die by the sword. But I would rather die by the sword...then let anyone or anything harm my family. If God entrusts you with them he expects you to protect them. I will turn the other cheek but if you touch my family or try too...it's a whole other story.. The man was Uriah, whom he plotted to have killed. If the Lord does not count the deaths of those engaged in battle aws murder, why should we?
