I've been dealing with this divorce issue now for 2 years. I'm tired of being in limbo. I feel like I can't fellowship with singles because I'm still technically "married" (for lack of a better term), and I can't fellowship with married couples because it reminds me of what my marriage should have been instead of what it really is right now, which is a farce. Sigh....I can't even get the papers, cause the stupid court won't let me download them---I have to go to the courthouse and pay $10 to get them, then to file them it's gonna cost me (are you ready for this?) $408 to file them. That amount of money equals about 3/4ths of my rent, and since the majority of my paycheck goes to pay for my rent, that would be my choice. It's so frustrating that if you make a penny more than minimum wage, you are considered "rich", and expected to be able to afford everything, including retainer fees for attorneys. I know your heart is aching, and you are probably feeling a lot of anxiety from a lot of different issues,but that's normal. Also, I have another friend, a dear sister in the Lord, who is going to be helping me contact our Legal Aid here, because she got a divorce and she was making $12 an hour, which is far more than what I make, and she used Legal Aid to do it. The same Legal Aid that told me I made too much money. Another sister is going to get me the paperwork. If I remember to call her, LOL.
