  1. I say we book this Brother on "The View." That'll really get ole Whoopi and Joy's cackles in a knot. May God our Father richly bless this brother.

  2. I wonder what would have happened if he'd replaced the tattered flag with a brand new one? It would still be theft, I suppose, but I'd like to see anyone get him convicted of that under those circumstances. Well, legally, it's theft no matter what. But were I on a jury (assuming something like this would ever even go to a jury) I'd be hard pressed to convict someone of stealing a tattered, torn American flag - which should have been replaced by the owner long before - if that person replaced the old flag with a new one. That, to me, would feel more like a civic duty. Especially for a Veteran. I feel for this man. A decade of his life given in defense of his country and this is how he gets repaid. All because someone wants to use the flag - AGAIN - to make some kind of political statement. It's a real shame to me how we've lost our respect for that flag. Just my opinion.

  3. Hello Biblos...welcome to Worthy. That is an interesting point....I think when angels have appeared and spoken to man, they have heard them speak in their own language, and when people have had visions of Heaven and been spoken to by angels, they have had no problem understanding what they were saying....perhaps Paul is incorporating angels here as some sort of hyperbole to emphasize his point. There is also the possibility that at Pentecost when the crowds heard and understood everything that was being said...they were speaking in the tongues of angels...and therefore part of the uniqueness of angelic language is not that it is some other definable language, but that anyone speaking it can be understood by anyone else no matter where they come from....and I suspect when we receive our new bodies and are queing up to speak to our biblical heroes, this is the sort of thing that will be experienced. Intriguing....not clear, hardly touched upon, but one day we will see clearly....in the meantime I will be thankful and cherish tongues for personal edification, and always seek gifts that benefit the body...they are called they 'greater gifts', but I assume they are greater in that they are of wider benefit, and more costly in terms of care in personal sanctification and dedication to loving the 'brethren'.

  4. First of all, Barbra Walters should be congratulated for stating a rebuke against Behar and Golberg's reaction. Secondly, it is sad that so many people are so deceived. I'll leave it at that.

  5. If your speaking or praying in French and noone else in the room speaks French, God is the only one that can here you! -------------------------------------------------- This is a rebuke, to those who were lifting themselves up, by speaking a foreign language in Church, as if God had given them the ability to do it. -------------------------------------------------- Actually verse 5 says........

  6. Neb, This has been a battle for me and really I just came face to face with it this week. Now here you have a thread on it. Could God be trying to tell me something? I sometmes grumbler when people don't give me an opportunity to speak. In my mind, I go back and forth telling them what I think . The Holy Spirit is brining this to the light. Just yesterday at work, I was explaining the correct way to do something. This person is a male and has no understanding how things are suppose to be tastefully done. His way is to just leave things after working with them as if its a construction site. I know that if you are repairing things and have to leave, you should stack things up, put somethings out of the reach of small children or someone who may walk in and trip, causing harm and the church will be placed in a situation to be sued. To make a long story short, I was able to clear some things up, but in the end fought with this person in my mind, by grumping. Did I win? YES! But the Holy Ghost pressed me and ask me was I right? NO! During these times, I pray and ask God to forgive me, then help me. He has shown me those complaining and grumping words are idle thoughts spoken out loud, and it doesn't matter weather unspoken. He shared that I will be judged by those words one day. I haven't not conquered this issue yet, but a new found revelation is to repent the moment it is caught and before I go to bed to make sure I ask for forgiveness of any act that may have been overlooked, plus plead for deliverance.

  7. Actually that will determine alot of answers given... I've both seen the Holy Spirit demonstrating his gifts through others and in myself as his vessel. I praise the Lord for His presences in his people. Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

  8. I think that this is in reality a mis-use of one of the gifts, although common in many 'charasmatic' assemblies...doesn't mean the gift itself is wrong in any way...just that it is an unhelpful use of it, and if I was an Unbeliever I would have scarpered too. I also think many potential Believers have been lost/put-off at times when the antics carried out in the name of Jesus have far more to do with the flesh than the Spirit. The gifts are not for show-casing or trying to prove G-d exists...they are for the edification, building up and equipping of the Saints, and therefore should be used wisely and in accordance to sound teaching. The disciples were chuffed to bits that demons fled when they prayed for people, and you can imagine the scene when they all got together and compared notes on what G-d was accomplishing through them under the direct authority of the L-rd....but Jesus' response to their euphoria was :- Luke 10:17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name. 18And He said to them, I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. 19Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. 20Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven. He wasn't pouring cold water on their enthusiasm...just getting them to focus on the source of true joy.

  10. Freedom of Religion has a price. If Islam was allowed to practice the law of their religion in full effect, then Christians would pay the price with death. If you become a Muslim the price of turning away is death also... limits must be kept for the well being of the majority. With the ground Zero debate... I believe that building a Mosque in the place of their malicious victory is a blunt slap in the face to the innocent people who died and to our nation and it should not be tolerated. True freedom is found only in Yeshua and in him there is no religion, He is truth. I think your poll is slightly slanted.. I believe that people should have the right to freely chose what they believe in; as long as it doesn't compromise the well being of others. Do I feel bad for saying they can't build their victory Mosque on private property in the place of 9/11? no. Muslims are gaining more religious tolerance than Christians today. In New York they have passed a law that Christians cannot pray around hospitals or clinics but muslims are allowed to block traffic for prayer in the public streets for 2 hours at a time!! There are multiple accounts right now of Christians who are being persecuted in our country based on religious tolerance. A youth pastor in California was arrested and held for 4 hours for engaging in an invited conversation about Jesus in a public mall.
