  2. This should help you. "Please understand that we in the ministry are volunteers. Understanding this will also bring an understanding that if you start a thread that has a long running video, it may take days for someone to have enough time to dedicate to watching the video in full, which would mean that it may take days before your video is either accepted or rejected."

  3. "The ultimate test of whether something is Christian. If you are corrupt in your doctrine of God and the person, nature, and work of Jesus Christ... it doesn't make any difference where else you're right. You are not Christian. If you have the wrong God, the wrong Redeemer, you're lost. That has been the message of the Christian Church historically." Walter Martin Opening argument in this debate in 1987.

  4. ="LatentAuthor" Also, I'm afraid that the claim about chariot wheels being found in the Red Sea is a very old hoax. HIsG Can you please provide a reliable link to support that?

  5. Fairy tale - http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fairy+tale?s=t 2. an incredible or misleading statement, account, or belief: His story of being a millionaire is just a fairy tale. Faith - Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Faith - http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/faith?s=t 2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact. Through faith in Jesus Christ we learn the Father of creation is the creator and origin of science. Our faith even though cannot be seen with human eyes is alive in us. The power of God makes it so. Our testimony and fruits confirm our faith. God the Father created science to give us a way to grow more in relationship with him. We sit back in awe of his creation as we build our telescopes and find our cures for our diseases. (Psalms 33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!) (Psalms 119-161 Princes persecute me without cause, but my heart stands in awe of your words.) Blessings.

  6. Caterpillar DNA evolved in the same way that all DNA evloves: random mutations that were selected for by the environment. DNA is constantly changing, you for example have somewhere around a hundred mutations in your genome that your parents do not. Almost all of these changes are neutral - they don't do much of anything. A very few are harmful, and fewer still are beneficial. Any harmful mutation is probably going to get weeded out pretty quick because it will increase the chance that an organism will die before reproducing to pass on that harmful mutation. Any beneficial mutation is probably going to be passed on because it will increase the chance that an organism will live and reproduce to pass on that beneficial mutation to its offspring. This is evolution: descent with modification.

  9. Blessings to Everyone, My sympathy to the Crouch family,Paul Sr was somebodys husband, somebodys dad ,somebodys grandpa just like the rest of us and I am sure they will miss him terribly,As far as all the reports of family fueds and lawsuits,I think it was in very bad taste to include in the article announcing his passing....there is a time and place for everything. Since Jan & Pauls meager beginnings on the air I have watched,I think his vision had to have been from God to bring the Gospel to every creature to every part of the world, and a fine job they did of it.......Oh,we have good preachers & not so good preachers but there is no denying that many many hearts were convicted & received Jesus as Lord & Savior by the Power of the Holy Spirit via satellite.,Praise & Glory to Almighty God! I love when Paul Crouch would tell the story of their first satellite and how everyone told them they could not get a signal because of a big mountain that stood in the way...Paul prayed according to the Word of God that evening before going to bed & when he awoke he was surprised & a bit disappointed to see that the mountain was still standing-LOL....But as the crew were ready to pack it all in he said,"Give it one more try"and lo & behold the signal was as strong as if nothing stood in its way....and so TBN was born.... WE are each accountable to know Gods Word & to see that if what we hear is what is written, take & digest what is good and leave the rest behind....TBN was a great blessing to me when I was in the hospital and then home bound for a time & still many times.....I thank God for the blessing & for Paul Crouch's obedience & willingness to go the extra mile for Jesus..... With love in Christ-Kwik

  10. Archeological evidences support a large scale flood. Many cultures have ancient stories handed down orally of a large flood. How do you explain layers of seashells, fossils of sea creatures etc in Europe that are normally found in warmer waters? And we are talking way up high eg: European alps. As for the Ancient Egyptians and the absence of the Exodus account (?), common practice of not writing about utter defeats - Egyptian army totalled under the waters. There are fossilised chariot wheels etc evident to this day.

  11. Blessings HisG, God bless you and it is nice to meet you......I seem to think you keep asking the same question 99different ways, the answer will still be that evolution has nothing to do with your analogy of the metamorphosis of a butterfly, you say you are trying to better understand the evolutionists perception and you have an evolutionist (Latent Author)to answer your questions but you still want to put the butterfly in the equation when he tried to tell you it has no part in it,what is so important about the DNA of a butterfly? And who is father evolution? You lost me on that one....at first I thought you were saying further evolution but then you said it in another post.......I am just trying to understand what you are trying understand-lol With love,in Christ-Kwik

  12. GlidingWings, well said, and I do understand. My point, however, is that the news and commentators had many years to expose TBN or do what they do best; mud-slinging, judging, etc. but to use his obit to drag up the past was not well taken by me. I've heard more disparaging remarks about most TV preachers, teachers, etc. and I get very tired of it. I'm not the kind of person who passes judgment. If I do not like it,, I just don't watch it. I'm quite content to let God sort it all out. I think everything we do will catch up to us sooner or later. I have a hard job and a tough enough time making sure my own nose is clean. I suppose it is the "Log" in my own eye that makes it hard to see the "splinter" in my brother's eye. At any rate, I just pray for them, the Hinns, the Parslays, Hagee, and all, and I let God sort it out, for there is no doubt He does know. And, there is no doubt He will give to each of us according to what we merit; what we have done, or not done, etc. ( The sins of commission and omission. ) I can't help but wonder if the criticism eagerly given by many Christians affects how the world looks at us, and worst of all, does it keep some away? It was on TBN that I watched Bishop E. V. Hill, I believe was his name, and it was not long after the sins of Jimmy Baker and Jimmy Swaggart were exposed. The Bishop made this one comment that made me laugh, but to a degree, was true, and it went something like this; "Our sin is between us and God alone! And, after seeing what the media and the congregations did to Jim Baker and Swaggart, that is exactly where I am leaving my sin, between God and I!" Just as the world does, sometimes Christians take a little bit too much pleasure in the fall of another. I repeat, "Except for the grace of God there go I." amen There is no doubt that I am one who does work out my salvation with much trembling and fear. I've seen too many fall to take it for granted and expect that I am immune from the flesh. It is a tricky thing, and I give credit to where credit is due.... to him who has no problems with temptation and sin, I salute you! To those like me, who do stumble from time to time, you are in my prayers. Our God is good and able to keep us from stumbling! To Him be all praise and Glory forever, amen. Yours in Christ, one who has been there, done that, repented and repented some more and gladly lives under His Grace alone. I remember His words, that our "good works are like filthy rags to Him." That leaves no room for doubt that without Jesus we have no hope. We just cannot be good enough! Washed in His Blood, PrairWarur

  13. How would Jews not know of these alleged prophecies if they were written in the OT? So we are agreed that simply having a story which contains references to historical places and/or persons does not make a story credible. There are people living today that claim to have performed miracles, and who have followers that will testify to having witnessed this firsthand. If you discount this as insufficient evidence, then how can you not do the same with ancient, anonymously written, second hand accounts that lack any outside corroboration? Does my scenario not fit the pieces of evidence that you presented? Is my scenario less likely? That's actually not true, the copies vary significantly depending upon the age. For example, the ending of Mark and the story of the woman taken in adultery are two stories that were added to later copies for purely theological reasons - this is so well known that if you check the footnotes in your bible it will likely note this. References please. Certainly, there are numerous books and papers on archaeology that contradict the Bible's accounts of creation, the flood, and the Exodus - which, consequently, doesn't appear in the ancient Egyptian records at all.

  14. If you're asking why I favor evolution as an explanation of the origin of man over instant creation, the answer is because the Theory of Evolution explains the evidence we have whereas instant creation is contradicted by it. If this isn't what you're asking perhaps you could re-phrase your question.

  15. What do you mean "the evolutionary path"?
    1 point
  16. It means that individuals with adaptations that help them survive are more likely to survive and reproduce than those who lack such adaptations. Many species have adapted to survive, many are very good at it. There may very well be more butterflies than people. . .so what? Because that's not what it means - it's talking about individual adaptations within a population and describing how nature typically operates.

  17. I don't know what you mean by this - it certainly doesn't reflect anything in the actual theory so I think you're misunderstanding something. If you could explain a bit more what you mean I might be able to help clear it up. No. Get rid of any thoughts about things "trumping" each other, or of "full potentials". None of it has anything to do with evolution.
    1 point
  18. There is no "full potential" in the ToE.

  19. It's a bit hard to know where to start with this - first you need to understand that metamorphosis does not result in any change in DNA, it is simply part of the life cycle of some animals. All living things progress through a life cycle, with some insects undergoing a "complete" metamorphosis and others undergoing an "incomplete" metamorphosis, while other animals simply grow without undergoing a metamorphosis. Whether we're talking about a dog growing from a puppy to an adult dog, or a butterfly growing from an egg to an adult, we're simply talking about life cycles. These life cycles are part of the evolution of all living things - they arose out of a long process of descent with modification. What the theory of evolution proposes is that the life cycle of a butterfly evolved from early insects which did not progress through a complete metamorphosis through descent with modification.

  20. Then you'll have to invest some time and energy in understanding biology - your question appears to have been answered several times already.

  21. Hey... you're trying to revive the discussions on how to identify a Christian? Probably not a good idea right now, as people just have had a bad experience about it. But let's give it a try, shall we? I agree with what Martin said (which I'm assuming you also believe in), except with these words: "ultimate test". And that is because having the right knowledge about God is not enough; one must also LIVE the Christian faith. So let's just say that it's only one of the tests, shall we? Sure, I can buy a book filled with right doctrines and teach from it -- I can even memorize everything in it, if I want to -- but if I do only this, if I don't personally know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and try to live his commandments, then certainly I'm not a Christian, am I? In fact, I think is the ultimate test, having that relationship with Christ. Because false doctrines can be understood and corrected (for who becomes a believer and suddenly knows all the right information about God?), but a relationship with Jesus is something that can never be duplicated, or counterfeited. ~

  22. This has been happen a lot over the past 6 months since I have been going through this very bad time in mt life right now. I like to read Bible verses before going to bed at time. I opened my Bible to 1. Peter and felt as if something was saying to me , you need to read this! I came across this: In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:6
