Anyone who acts in the manner Paul describes IS in the category of the man of lawlessness. End time man will be exactly as Paul describes. He thinks he's god. He exalts himself above every god. The ultimate selfishness. It's Satan's old tired first lie. "You shall be as god." Was that not the offer to both Adam AND Eve? (i.e.: more than one person). Is that not the lying promise to ALL who will do Satan's bidding? Or just to one man? Also, the usage switches from singular to plural as the entire passage unfolds. 2Th 2:3-12 Let no one in any way deceive you, for {it will not come} unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains {will do so} until he is taken out of the way. Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; {that is,} the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness. It's a singular category (man of lawlessness) composed of those who oppose and exalt themselves above every god and put themselves in the place of God. It's an attitude of heart. In fact, Jesus even uses the very same term to describe those who call Him Lord but are false. "I never knew you; depart from me you who work inequity." The word for inequity is anomia, meaning lawlessness. It's the same word which Paul uses here in II Thess 2. (anthropos anomia) Furthermore, the passage conveys the idea of vessels of wrath from Romans 9:22. The vessels of wrath are prepared for destruction (apoleia) The man of lawlessness is also called the son of destruction (huios apoleia) those who are given over to believe the lie (that they are gods) because they refuse to believe the truth (that Christ is the only true and Living God) and took pleasure in wickedness.

Adam Weishaupt, knew the difference between true Christianity and his one world philosophy when he wrote to Cato, "The most admirable thing of it all is, that Great Protestant and reformed theologians who belong to our order really believe they see in it the true and genuine mind of the Christian religion. Oh, man! What can you be brought to believe? If Jefferson's writing is to be believed, Weishaupt is not as bad as some have made him out to be. If Jefferson is wrong in his assumption, Weishaupt is still DEAD, so I am not concerned about him, or his ridiculous organization. A dead man is of no consequence to me, nor to our time in life. Gog and Magog are.

For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness. 1. Welcome to the apostasy. 2. The man of lawlessness is not a who, it's a WHOM, a category of people. 3. In Paul's day a restraint was in place, a restraint which kept the man of sin from being revealed. Paul first describes the restraint as a 'what', but in the next verse, he personifies the restraint as a 'he'. My thought is that the restrainer is Michael the Archangel, the greatest of the angels, but if not him, then certainly another angel having the mission. 4. The Book of Revelation speaks of Satan being restrained as well, and I believe there to be a connection between the two restrainers. The word used in Rev 20 for Satan's prison is most properly translated not prison, but 'guard'. The word is phylake. The picture is of a prisoner being escorted along in chains, restricted in movement. 5. The restraint of which Paul speaks is a different word, katecho, the meaning of which is to hold back. 6. Whatever kept the man of sin from busting loose was further aided by the restraint of Satan at the defeat of Rome and apostate Israel in 70 AD and that restraint was kept in place until... 7. The apostasy. The apostasy is the definitive sign that the restraint has been lifted and that Satan's guard has been relieved of his mission. Christianity no longer hold the pre-eminence. The word for reign in Rev 20 is basileuō, meaning to exercise the highest influence. Christianity held the highest influence in the world for over 2000 years. Christian thought was supreme, Christian teaching was at the top of the heap, but no more. The reason for all of the hardness of heart you see? Satan is back in limited control. This is the little season, the short time. The time of Gog and Magog. Satan is Gog, the unbelievers of the world who come from the four corners of it are Magog. They've come to fight. Christians are wandering about theologically like chickens with their heads cut off...the Holy City is more like a land of unwalled villages, and Gog and Magog have come to seek a spoil and a prey. Only the return of Christ will keep them from getting it. We're getting more and more surrounded every day. AND MOST CHRISTIANS STILL HAVEN'T FIGURED IT OUT YET.

The problem is one which nobody has touched on here: To do something in someone's NAME means that you possess their permission and authority. Jesus said that many would come on the Last Day saying "Lord, we prophesied in your name, we cast out demons in your name and did all kinds of good works in your name..." and that His response would be: "I NEVER KNEW YOU! Depart from me you who work inequity." Notice carefully the response: I NEVER knew you. These people never had the authority to use the name of the Lord. They used His name in vain. They offered strange fire. If I'm a believer, it doesn't matter whether I say Jesus, Yeshua or Iesous or Isa (Arabic). There's too much flabbling about how to pronounce the Name and not enough on who has the right to USE the authority BEHIND the Name.

Local Tennessee Baptist Church holds a Kwanzaa service

The fact that it has absolutely nothing to do with Christ or His birth is one more reason the Church should NOT be celebrating it. It's just more Magogism taking away from the truth of the Gospel. -

The saddest part of it all is that Believers are being surrounded by this Magogist attack (Rev 20) and the vast majority don't even see it. It's like being slowly boiled in a pot of cool water. Only Satan could mask such an attack so well. Our own teachers and pastors seem to be oblivious to it for the most part. Remember if you will that Satan was the most subtle creature in the garden. Magog wants one happy world with a watered down religion to keep the few who wish to follow it out of their hair. They've already told us they think that anyone who practices a religion of salvation after death is irrelevant. Now they practice the lie of non-offense: You are not permitted to offend anyone with religious symbols (unless it's Kwanza or some other ridiculous humanist hooey with no salvation attached). They also practice the lie of tolerance: We are going to practice our filth in front of you and you are going to take it or we will brand you as intolerant and "unloving"; we however will insult you, force you into the corner and make your silly irrelevant religion look bad in the newspapers, on television, in the movies, and any other way we can. This is a war of ideologies and religion, this war of Gog and Magog. It's humanism vs the concept of God. Fortunately, Christ will come before anything serious happens and burn them to a crisp.

More Magogist propaganda.

Merry Christmas! (It's kinda hard to get into the whole Dec 25 thing anymore though now that I know his proper birthday is most likely in September at the Feast of Tabernacles.) Remember that Christ came into the world as a man, lived as a man, died as a man and rose again on the Third Day according to the Scripture and is seated at the right hand of God offering intercession for us. Blessed be His name forever and ever.

Why do you think I keep on pointing out things like the Humanist Manifesto 2? So long as your beliefs are kept to yourself, MAGOG DOESN'T CARE BECAUSE YOU ARE NO THREAT TO THEM. Christians are too busy worrying about how to be nice. I GOT NEWS FOR YA KIDDIES...THIS IS WAR. WAR AIN'T NICE. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO SHOW THE WAY OF THE LORD. If you adopt their terminology, if you adopt their way of thinking..THEY WIN. Misguided 'love missiles' will not work. Sometimes you have to say "Hey that's horse hooey!" You have to stop compromising and not mollycoddle foolishness. Stand up. Slap that muzzle away. We've become the land of unwalled villages and they come seeking easy prey.

You pickin' and choosin', BB? Tell me why in Gen 6 eez referring to men but in Job to angels? Give me Biblical evidence why Job refers to angels but Genesis 6 doesn't and mebbe I'll believe ya Because Hebrew is contextual. Bene Elohim can mean either men OR angels, depending on CONTEXT. Satan means adversary. When Jesus rebuked Peter, was he calling Peter the Devil? Of course not. He was telling Peter that he was standing against what God desired. Angels can't reproduce, they're neuter, per the words of Jesus Himself, so the idea that Gen 6 refers to angels is preposterous. I and Eric H as well have both pretty well outlined that the Nephilim are of the Cain line. Where does he say that? It is implied in Matt 22:27-27

It's a tenet of Calvinism that Christ died ONLY for the elect. While I'm Calvinistic, I'm hardly traditional. I believe that any theological construct must be weighed against the Scripture and where Scripture disagrees with the theological construct, that portion of the construct must be set aside. The Scripture clearly tells us that the blood of Christ is the propitiation for the sins of the WHOLE world. 1Jo 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world. Kosmos can mean all of the created order, or simply the portion of the world in opposition to Christ and His order. In this case, I can't see it referring to creation in general, therefore I must conclude that it means everyone. Now before my Calvinist brothers have me shot, let me say that this in no way goes against Calvin's understanding that only the elect are saved. Those who respond to the call of God to believe AND REMAIN FAITHFUL TO IT (the 'P' in TULIP) are the elect. Well then Bold, are you saying that some lose their salvation? Absolutely. WHAT! STONE HIM! HERETIC! Jhn 3:15-21 "...so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God." All Calvinists will agree that the 'whoever will' is the elect. Likewise, the Calvinist will agree that those who do NOT believe are the vessels of wrath. John agrees also when He says that those who do not believe are condemned ALREADY and that God's judgment on them is that they loved darkness rather than Light...AND HATE THE LIGHT and DO NOT FOLLOW THE LIGHT because they fear their deeds will be exposed (made manifest by the Light for what they are). But the Gift is for all. MANY are called, FEW are chosen. God says "Come." The elect say eventually: "Here am I." The vessels of wrath say: "Forget you," proving by their continual rejection that they are vessels of wrath. The Gift is the Blood of Christ shed for sins. IF BELIEVED UPON, IT WILL TAKE AWAY YOUR SINS. Think of the gift like a million dollar check. If you never CASH THE CHECK, IF YOU CONSIDER THE CHECK WORTHLESS, IT IS OF NO VALUE TO YOU. The Gift is only good to the elect. The wicked are guilty of the most heinous sin of them all: REJECTING THE HOLY SPIRIT AND BLASPHEMING HIM. Hbr 10:26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, The wicked have had the opportunity to receive the one thing which would take away their sins. THE BLOOD HAS BEEN APPLIED TO THE MERCY SEAT ON THEIR BEHALF AND THEY DEEM IT UNHOLY! In this sense, they have lost their salvation by failing to receive it. SO, the elect do not lose their salvation, the wicked lose theirs by rejecting the sacrifice. Hbr 10:28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on {the testimony of} two or three witnesses. This is a very important phrase, this 'set aside'. It's the word atheteō, meaning: 1) to do away with, to set aside, disregard 2) to thwart the efficacy of anything, nullify, make void, frustrate 3) to reject, to refuse, to slight The vessel of wrath DISREGARDS the very thing capable of saving him. Like a drowning man shoving away a life preserver, the vessel of wrath casts away the provision of the Blood. Hbr 10:29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? The vessel of wrath regards the blood of the covenant as unclean or common. It sanctified him UP UNTIL THE POINT OF TOTAL REJECTION. Christ died for all, but when called upon to believe in the provision of the covenant, the vessel of wrath proves what he/she is by in effect saying: "Holy Spirit you are a liar. The blood of Christ is just plain old blood, it does nothing to save me. Until called, all men are under common grace. This doesn't mean that if someone who is evil dies before they can hear the Gospel that they are saved. Common grace keeps God from killing them. You're unclean but God is extending you grace. As Romans 9 says: Rom 9:22 What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? Common grace is God putting up with Christ-rejectors until such time as it pleases Him to judge them. He endures them with much patience. His holiness demands their death, His grace gives them a break. Once they reject the Blood of the Covenant, they are living on borrowed time. All have a sacrifice applicable, not all will accept the sacrifice, only the elect.

At everyone else's birthday, THEY get the gifts. WHY at "Christmas" do WE get the gifts. Shouldn't we be giving gifts to Christ and not each other? Who fuddled this up anyway? (Talk about trying to get a gift for the man who has EVERYTHING. What would you get Jesus?)

In the trailer, he gets assaulted and defends himself. He doesn't initiate the attack. In the situation in which he lives, it is obviously necessary to defend one's self and others against roving gangs of madmen. Do you honestly think such people would let him live, they intend to murder him and take his book and whatever else he has.

Denzel Washington will be starring in a new Hollywood offering on 1-15-2010 called "The Book of Eli". This movie is a little bit Mad Max-Road Warrior and a little bit The Postman. It's a post-nuclear war (I refuse to use the term post-apocalyptic, the movie is not about the Second Coming and no one could make that movie) movie in which one man (Washington) has what appears to be the very last copy of the Scriptures and does whatever he feels necessary to protect from falling into the hands of those who would exploit it. I suspect there is a lot of blood and gore in this movie, the trailer certainly implies it, but the idea of anyone protecting a copy of the Scripture from evil seems pretty good to me. I think there's more to it than what I've said, but it might even be worth watching. Might.

Actually, he uses the term for men in Gen 6 and for heavenly malachim (angels) in Job.

My background is Reformed Presbyterian (with some Jews for Jesus Messianic stuff and a little charismatic worship thrown in). As I understand this matter, the moral law is still binding. The ceremonial law is not (sacrificing animals, literal ritual cleansings and so forth). When we walk in Christ by the Holy Spirit, we fulfill the spirit of the law, agreeing with it in our inner man, The Law is God's immutable standard, It is the standard which the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin. How do I KNOW when I have sinned? The Spirit tells me through His making me aware of the Law of God written in my heart. I must then offer up the Blood of Christ and confess that sin (outlined in various places in the Older Covenant). The Law also serves to show me righteous conduct (clean) from wicked conduct (unclean). If I have question in my mind as to whether something is right to do or not to do, I can go to the Law and evaluate the deed against what the Law says. My motive is out of love, not out of obligation. Do I need to be circumcised? In heart, yes. Do I need to mikvah (be baptized)? Yes, into Christ's death and resurrection (see Romans). Sometimes, we as Christians practice the Law spiritually without even realizing it because it's in our hearts. Are we not offering up THE sacrifice for sin when we ask forgiveness (or more precisely, putting the remembrance of that once for all sacrifice before the presence of the LORD). Does our High Priest in heaven not constantly make intercession for us there in the Presence by His Blood? Do angel-priests not take our prayers as bowls of incense before the LORD? (Revelation) Don't be hung up on the externals of the Law, be concerned with the internals and doing what is right and we will uphold the holy principles laid out there without even being aware we're doing it. External observations only sound a trumpet before us as we go, something Yeshua warned against.

I recall the big stink ID caused in York PA a few years ago when they tried to have it taught in the schools there. While ID is better than Darwin's garbage, it still skates around the truth. God created the cosmos by His Word, Jesus Christ. Magog wants to stamp that out.

LA Anglican diocese elects gay bishop

More Magogist apostasy. Not surprising at all. Many of the candidates for the bishopric were openly homosexual. I mentioned it in another post. They went out from us, but they are not OF us. You will know them by their fruits...or in this case, by their fruity-ness. If you're an Episcopal Believer and still believe what Scripture says...get out while you still can. There is no candle in their lampstand. -
Well it seems that no one read the original post. I've already mentioned that it's impossible for angels to father children. They're neuter beings. The bene Elohim are righteous men; the Nephilim are fallen. The two categories are not even mentioned as being the same. Again, read the ORIGINAL POST. As for Peter's comment read it again, There are two separate things being said here. Jud 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. The angels didn't keep their first beginning-place (arche') but left their dwellingplace (oikētērion) and are punished being chained in darkness until judgment day. They left heaven and joined Satan in the air (Satan is the prince of the power of the air). Jud 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. The second thing Peter says is that Sodom and Gomorrha and the other cities around them in the same way(remember the original story, there are actually more than just two cities), gave themselves over to fornication and seeking strange flesh (homosexuality) and are suffering eternal fire for that sin. It's a three fold thought line: 1. Angels who left heaven are being punished 2, Sodom and Gomorrah are being punished 3. The people who are the subject of the letter will be punished

A lot of Believers are going to shocked when NO future 'tribulation period' occurs because it was the time of JACOB's trouble, and happened in AD 70. Christ destroyed the sacrificial system and left no doubt as to the fact that ONLY HIS BLOOD was an acceptable sacrifice. Messiah's death technically put an end to the offerings because it made them non-effective. The destruction of the temple finished the job physically. The two witnesses were Moses and Elijah, personified as the Law and Prophets. The Beast that ascended from the bottomless pit is Rome. Rome made war against the Law and the Prophets by killing the Jews. The Law and the Prophets however are eternal and not only that, they are also embodied in Christ. So even though the Romans killed the Jews (leaving their bodies strewn about the streets of Jerusalem), they couldn't kill the Law and the Prophets, because they're fulfilled in Christ, hence after 3.5 days, the Law and Prophets come back figuratively, just as Christ came back literally forty years earlier. Even though the Jewish order with its sacrifices and offerings was dead, the Law and Prophets would never die. The wicked were more than happy to be rid of the Law and Prophets, and are shocked when they understand they are embodied in Messiah and will NEVER DIE, just like Messiah. Notice that the two witnesses have Christ-like characteristics: They are resurrected in the same amount of time as Jesus. They are called up into heaven in a cloud just like Jesus. This shows their relationship to and in Christ.
