  1. I wasn't sure to post this.....I just got this in an e-mail. I checked this out on www.snopes.com and it said it was true. All, There will be a new children's movie out in December called 'The Golden Compass'. The movie has been described as 'atheism for kids' and is based on the first book of a trilogy entitled 'His Dark Materials' that was written by Phillip Pullman. Pullman is a militant atheist and secular humanist who despises C. S. Lewis and the 'Chronicles of Narnia'. His motivation for writing this trilogy was specifically to counteract Lewis' symbolisms of Christ that are portrayed in the Narnia series. Clearly, Pullman's main objective is to bash Christianity and promote atheism. Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview that 'my books are about killing God.' He has even stated that he wants to 'kill God in the minds of children'. It has been said of Pullman that he is 'the writer the atheists would be praying for, if atheists prayed.' While 'The Golden Compass' movie itself may seem mild and innocent, the books are a much different story. In the trilogy, a young streetwise girl becomes enmeshed in an epic struggle to ultimately defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God. Another character, an ex-nun, describes Christianity as 'a very powerful and convincing mistake.' In the final book, characters representing Adam and Eve eventually kill God, who at times is called YAHWEH. Each book in the trilogy gets progressively worse regarding Pullman's hatred of Jesus Christ. 'The Golden Compass' is set to premier on December 7, during the Christmas season, and will probably be heavily advertised. Promoters hope that unsuspecting parents will take their children to see the movie, that they will enjoy the movie, and that the children will want the books for Christmas. Please consider a boycott of the movie and the books. Also, pass this information along to everyone you know. This will help to educate parents, so that they will know the agenda of the movie.
  2. I thanks you for your reply.......I'm 51 I've been "penecostal" all my life and have listen to Jimmy as a small child...I have been blessed by listening to him, both in the 70's and 80's and now..since I do listen to him daily I believe that he does know he sinned and yes he did try to find out why a evanaglist in his standing could fall as hard as he did.I belive also that I have learned more under his message now than in the past.I would love have been at one of his crusades. I have been to Baton Rouge and meet him and Donnie..personally I like Donnie's preaching more...both can touch my heart. I so sorry that you can't see the message of the cross as good as the old days.and by the way Jimmy said he and kenneth copeland started the word of faith movement.Jimmy is now 75 years old he can't do the crusades anymore but I'm praying for Donnie to start them again.
  3. cag7800 I used to support Jimmy Swaggart ministries in the 80s when he preached the uncompromised truth. The message he preaches today is very differen't, and unlike you, I don't believe it was God that changed it. It is not possible to believe the message he used to preach and to also believe the one he preaches today, so I reject his current doctrine. As far as his wife goes, I agree with you. She has stuck by him in spite of his personal failures, and I have a great deal of respect for her as well. We have people today ready to call it quits in a marriage for far less serious things than what Jimmy Swaggart did, so it is obvious that Francis took her wedding vows serious. I have no condemnation for Jimmy Swaggart because of his sins. Anyone can be overcome in a fault, and when we get to the point where we think differently, we better take heed lest we fall. If he were to return to the message he used to preach, and that I supported each month, I would return to watching his program, and perhaps giving to his ministry. I cannot support the message he currently preaches. I was once into the assemblies of God and I was becoming to discourged with the word of faith........it was then I found Jimmy's radio station here..I believe in the message of the cross. I believe that Christ told us to preach the gospel and nowhere does he say send the church (or the evanglist) a seed offering when you haven't a dime to your name. I was so discouraged because I felt that God wouldn't bless me because I had nothing to offer.Jimmy has taught me that my minstries and things I do for others is a type of offering. Christ knows my heart and I have had my faith in Him renewed. I collect bible and send them out to third world countries.every one has a right to there opinons and I'm not trying to argue or change your opinon, but not everyone is in to the word of faith anymore. I personaly believe God can use different people in different ways and I guess I shouldn't have used the words "changed the message", because God never changes. I should have said "Jimmy grew to the point, he could have a new revalation of God's word.
  4. First of all, if he wanted to resign, it doesn't seem like a vote of the congregation would change his mind. Beyond that, just because his daughter became pregnant doesn't mean he wasn't doing everything in his power to manage his own home. I suppose in a differen't time, he would have demanded that a chaparone be present with her on every date, and maybe that is a custom that should be revived, but no matter how good a Father this man is, there is no way he can guarantee his daughter will never go against the teachings he instilled in her. I would have no problem with him remaining. I don't think a minister can be responsible for the actions of his adult daughter. If she was in her 20's, say, a chaperon would be ridiculous. The Biblical guidelines are are guidelines, that's all. They don't mean that a minister has to be sinless and perfect and that his family has to be the same way. We are all sinful, and as long as the minister strives to raise his children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, who can demand for more? The daughter was a teen ager still living at home. He left it up to the congreagation if he stayed or went. We loved him enough to let him stay. Actually, if memory serves right, we asked, begged and pleaded that he stay. Although, I believe that things changed after this event. He changed. His preaching changed. It's hard to say really but there was something different. Still, to me, he was one of the greatest men who ever lived because he befriended my father and brought him to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! It's probably not right, but in my eyes, this guy could do no wrong. Even if she was still a teenager and under his roof, he couldn't watch her 24 hours a day. As I said earlier, I suppose he could have insisted on a chaperone, but nobody does that today. Considering the number of teenagers who wind up pregnant, perhaps the practice should be revived? The matter of his message changing would concern me. I remember when the Jimmy Swaggart scandle took place in the 80s. After the dust had settled, his message changed. I suppose he was no longer able to preach the gospel without compromise anymore because his conscience condemned him, so the message was differen't. I am in no wise condoning his actions, but to me, if he is going to remain in the ministry, he owes it to his audience to stand up for the truth, regardless of personal failures. For all I know, he may be in his mind doing just that? He may have decided that his original message didn't work, so he changed it? I just know something changed, and it effected the message his son preaches as well. I also know a preacher that got a divorce and continued on in the ministry. He eventually re-married, and with his new wife came a new doctrine. It was much more accepting of sin. I think there is something on the inside that makes one believe they are better off preaching a lukewarm doctrine and not being a hypocrite, than standing strong on the truth, but to me, if the message suffers, the minister is no longer doing his job, and would be better off resigning. All that being said, I am not making any judgements on your Pastor Biblicist. He probably is a God fearing man, and I have never heard him preach, before or after the incident. He really shouldn't feel personal condemnation for his daughter's actions, anymore than the Father of the prodigal son was responsible for his failures, but apparently he takes the scriptures about running one's household to mean that he was at fault in what happened with his daughter. I support Jimmy Swaggart ministries,I believe that God did change his message and I have a great deal of respect for his wife that has stuck by him all theses years.
  5. that will never happen .he is a coward that hides in a cave
  6. has anyone ever seen inside the spirit world? I did once. I got up one night and was going to the bathroom,I passed a window and felt a evil spirit outside. It was like he wanted to let me know he was there. I wasn't afraid, it was like I just stared him down and I felt him run away.
  7. I have started what I believe that the Lord has set before me to do. I have never really did anything like this. I need help getting these to a lady who contacted me for used bibles. I now have about 15 new and used bibles(used are in very good shape). anyway she says the Lord laid it on her heart and she asked for my help. I have found I can send them media mail for about $50.00 per 25 lbs. If anyone can help me with these cost I know God will richly bless you.I am also sending Christian music .c.d's and bible on cassettes. thank you cheryle
  8. This brought back the tragic killings of Luke Woodham at the Pearl High School shootings back in 1997. he killed his mother then sat at the table and ate then took a rifle hid it under his long coat and shot up the school.the principle went to his car and got a gun and held him down after he(luke) had went back to his car to reload.big stink about the principle having a gun I pray for thoses families that are waiting to see if their kids are dead or alive.
  9. if they can get control of our goverment ...we better be praying for the Rapture
  10. we decided to not get the doublewide and just try to patch this old trailer up..we prayed God's will and I believe this is the right thing to do.Now agasin we pray his will that this land sells quickly// bless you all cheryle
  11. If some of you remember we had a small stove fire in our 30 year old mobile home. We have our land for sale for $235,000.00 commerical. since we have no idea when this sell.we had decide to get a doublewide and when the land sells buy some more land and move the doublewide. yesterday, the saleman told us it would be $700.00 a month for 30 years.this would put us paying $250,000.00 for a $55,000.00 home.we can proably make the payments okay until the land sells......but........... if something would happen to me or my husband we would not.....I am 50 years old and he is 46. the land is being used as a lien.... I don't want to do this at this price.....I think we should just hang and wait for the land to sell......and pray that the Lord protects us,against a further fire..this area is growing by leaps and bounds they just built a kroger(grocery store) behind us and the area across the street is all commerical and they built a do;lar general across the street about 2 months ago. so what ya'll think.......should we go for and pray for the best or wait and get the best, cause then we could pay cash and not have any payments?
  12. To further explain.....silly things like..."keep this letter going to experience a miracle today." That is just plain pathetic in my books. LNJ I'm with you "INJ" It always amazes me the things so called "Christians" will do to keep a chain letter going. My favorite is when a fellow Christian sends one advertising that "You will get 1 year of "good luck" if you send this to all your friends.... Good Luck? What does LUCK have to do with Believing in God? That one always kills me. Or one saying that if you have 3 or more friends and so on......and on.....determining how much luck you will incur......I just don't get the "Luck" thing! Blessings Cajunboy The one that gets me is "if you love God and you are not ashamed you will forward this" I trash them everytime
  13. one of my co-workers is a pastor and he just resigned his church because the elders and the church secetary refused to show him the bank acounts. they told him that he was there just to preach and it was their jobs to run the church business.the secetary keeps the books at her house not the church(the church might get broken into she says)the deacons in this church has been giving him a hard time for about a year, telling him what to preach and such,he refused.when he pointed out error in the church they pretty must told him either he abide by what they said to leave,so he did........
