  1. Sometimes when you are aching for a relationship anyone seems like the right one. But, the fact that you even bothered to ask that question gives you your answer. You should look up the definition of adultery. Mathew 5:32 But I say to you, That whoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery. It's covetousness. Now think logically, If this person divorces her husband and goes for you, what kind of person do you think she'll be in your marriage? Think she'll be faithfull? Would you trust her? She has a child with this man. Why would you consider breaking up the family to suit your own desires? Even if the marriage is on the brink of destruction, why would you choose to be the instrument of the final severing of the bond? Proverbs 6:26For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. If you date this married woman and her husband finds out, wouldn't he hunt you down? None of the reprecussions are worth what you are considering.
  2. Amen! 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I've had a lot of fear and the more I focused on the fear the worse it got. It built upon itself, and created new fears, and they built upon themselves. Oneday the Lord just said,, "If you believe why are you afraid? Believe in what you were given." No more fear. It tries to come back every now and then, but "Resist the Devil and he will flee"
  3. Jets of matter can be ejected along the singularity's poles but a black hole is certainly pulling more stuff in than what is able to escape. Basically once you cross it's event horizon you're going down. . .unless you're one of Hawking's theoretical particles but that's getting too complicated to have any bearing here. Spiral galaxy, not universe. There is extremely little in the way of evidence to indicate that the universe is rotating and, even if it were, there would be no "center" as we're used to thinking about it. There's an awful lot of "chaos" going on right now anyway even if we grant the notion that everything orbits around something. . .which is rather grand. I don't understand how that's "likewise" at all. It would be easier to just say that God created our galaxy already moving. . .it would also be more accurate and make a lot more sense. Galaxies aren't sentient beings, they don't make decisions about what's best for them so they really wouldn't "have" to do anything in order to satisfy our notions about how the universe should look like. If a spiral galaxy were created instantaneously without motion it would collapse into itself, it would certainly not look and behave like spiral galaxies actually do. Well. . .kinda sorta not really. Galaxies aren't just spinning for the fun of it, they rotate around a highly dense center. Some of the outlying stars might eventually break free of the gravitational pull but most everything else is going to get sucked into the galactic center. Nothing is going to slow down as it approaches the center of gravity. I wouldn't say that galaxies regularly spin off smaller galaxies - a star or two might break free and may eventually start attracting free floating material throughout the universe but since there's a lot less "stuff" just floating around now and the life time of a star is finite it's extremely doubtful this will build up into an actual galaxy in anything short of the order of hundreds of millions of years. More than likely it will get caught in the gravitational pull of something else. . .like another galaxy. LOL,,,,, I agree with you. Seems to me we're saying the same thing. I"m just not as good at explaining the idea. I was just giving an example of how it works in a very most basic sense. Obviously it's easier to say,, God just created it. Which is also a complete fact. On the spiral universe,,, I made a mistake,,, I should've said conical. Either way, you're right.
  4. A spiral galaxy consists of a spiraling disc of dust, gas, and stars orbiting a central "bulge" with a much denser concentration of dust, gas, and stars. Galaxies are pretty much just clumped up groups of stuff and as more stuff clumps together it generates more gravity pulling more and more stuff in towards itself. The center of the a spiral galaxy contains a huge amount of material and, in some cases, possibly even a really big black hole. The gravity generated by all this mass "pulls" on the surrounding matter making it spin. Think of it as a glorified solar system. The AIG article you're quoting from is citing Russel Humphreys very problematic assertion that "Stars closer to the center of a spiral galaxy orbit the galaxy faster than stars farther away. Over many millions of years, the difference in orbital rates should wind the spiral tighter and tighter. We do not see any evidence for this in galaxies of different ages.
  5. Well, there was an entire episode in the original series that referred to the Ark of the Covenant. I do remember that much off hand, but there were others. I will have to go back and refresh myself, as I have not really discussed this much recently. Edited to add: There was also an episode dedicated to the Holocaust and the final solution. Also, and this is funny. There was a "jewish star trek" moment on an episode of Frasier. Frasier's son is Jewish from his mother and Frasier is supposed to recite a prayer in Hebrew at his son's Bar Mitsvah. The problem was that Frasier didnt know Hebrew and as a prank, one of Frasier's coworkers who was Jewish and a trekker "helped" him by transliterating the prayer in phonetic Klingon. So then Frasier blesses his son in Klingon at the bar mitzvah! ROFLOL!!!!!!!! I wish I would've seen that one! I'll be it's on youtube. As far as William Shatner,,, I'm a huge fan, that guy is hilarious! He's definately on my top five list of over the top hollywood types.
  6. Well, after reading a little from a couple websites it certainly appears that the Star of David originated in paganism. Supposedly it comes from King Davids shield, maybe the shape or something. As for reference in the Bible there is none. This is very interesting. Hand jestures too,,,, I think you may be on to something.
  7. From my understanding of freemasons,,, They're steeped in traditions. Each tradition is borrowed from many different religions, philosophies, and creeds. IMHO, I wouldn't be suspicious of Jewish tradition and symbols. If it's an ancient Jewish tradition, it's more likely that the masons stole it from them.
  8. This is stuff I've never heard of or seen before, so I'm disqualified of answering any question regarding it. But, you mentioned your suspicious of israelites. Why would you be?
  9. Yep yep! I was white power for years too. Then, the Lord started showing me things. I made a friend that was black at work. We started talking about all this racism stuff, (both of us were proud of our race) He was older than me maybe about 10 or 12 years. He told me one day, "You know and I know what the whole problem is. We're in a spiritual war, it ain't people we're fighting." So, we both changed. And every time we'd see something stupid or hear someone say something stupid, we'd just say to eachother, "Yep it's a war alright, and not one of them know it". I'm glad I met the dude. It's funny cause I thought I was white power, come to find out by talking with him, that I wasn't after all. LOL! go figure. When I went to Cali a few months ago, I noticed at least in LA that there wasn't a whole bunch of segregation. All the races hung out with other races, and dated other races. Now, I know there's still some parts that are somewhat segregated out there. But, from what little I saw it was cool as all get out! I also noticed that alot of the people in their 20's seemed to look less and less white, or black, or latin or asian. They just looked like people. I couldn't tell what race they were. I agree, there wont be to many races in the next few years. People that are of one single race will be minority. Hmm, That is if my buddy quits trying to repopulate the earth LOL< Good post!
  10. They also say 2 Peter 3:12 Looking for and hastening to the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Looking closer they say the same thing. Looking for doesn't mean, looking forward to, rather, Keep Watch! Hastening means Work Work Work, when the full number of people get saved, then it will start. So, by hastening we preach the Gosple and save all those who would be saved. In the same sense though, we should lookforward to being in heaven with the Lord, keeping our eye on the prize. But, I believe that's a different deal than longing for the day of our Lord. Personaly, I want him to wait a long time. Both selfish reasons and for the Kingdom. I'd love to go to heaven, but I'd also like to see my kids grow up and spend more time with my wife before we die and we're not married anymore. I also want more time to become perfect in the Lord, and to bring as many as the Lord will lead into salvation as I can. But, you have a good point. LOL< as if you wouldn't quoting scripture
  11. I'm all for animal rights. But, I'm also all for eating them and it doesn't matter which ones to me. Okay, I make exception with dogs and cats. I can respect someone not wanting to eat any products that some from animals and being offended if someone else does it. I agree animals shouldn't be abused, and some of the ways animals are slaughtered leaves much to question on the ethics of their treatment. The reason PETA is so bad is They put animals and people as equals one and the same. Except they view us as responsible as the "higher evolved" species. But, even the latter has some merit. As the Bible shows, "A wise man cares for his animals" So, yes, us as humans with dominion and with higer intelect are responsible and should treat our animals whether headed to slaughter or as pets, good. Good being subjective, because I don't believe cows need air conditioned barns and water beds to lay on. (Someone does this actually so the cows will produce more milk. LOL) But, you can see my point. Another thing I have against PETA is during dog shows or dog events their members have been known to run and set the dogs loose from their cages. Surely anyone blessed with common sense could see the dangers in that! However good a person intentions maybe, as the more inteligent design, we should think before we do something. But, I do have to wonder how much value a single fly has. On one hand, if we didn't have flies the entire world would be covered in a foot of rotten slop. But, on another,, they bread by the billions and live less than 48 hours anyway. And they do get anoying. LOL
  12. That's a good question. I've noticed it's not always good to get what you want. Like wise, sin breeds sin. Greed is sin,,, so the more they get the more they want. The more they want the more they fight for what they want. Now blessedly for us! The Lord doesn't give us all we want. Like a good Shepard he knows not to give us all of our desires because it will breed all kinds of bad things, greed, envy, pride, and cause others shame. I never looked at it this way until just now. Thanks for posting this!
  13. Thanks for the replies! I feel better that I'm not the only one. I'm gonna take some of you guys advice and not go back to that forum. Blessings!
  14. I'm a member, (soon to not be) of another forum. A certain person posted a topic that gives government statistics and says, that 50% of murders are caused by black people. Then goes on to say that black people are at a spiritual disadvantage because of their race. I can't seem to get through to them and it's making me very angry. What's worse is other members are agreeing and patting him on the back for his bravery in stating the truth! Then they all say I'm wrong and comparing what they're saying to the ayran christian church. I don't get it! There's all this talk about the mark of cain, blah blah blah blah blah. What is wrong with people??????????? Can't they see it's thinking like that that breads racial groups. Such as the KKK, or New Nazis? I used to think the same way, and at the same time, I was white power and hated everyone who wasn't white. Now they say they're not racist because they have black friends or what not. Anyway,, I'm sorry, I know I'm new here, and this is a deep topic, I just needed to vent.
  15. Amen, If the opposite were the case,, Most of the ancient Celts are doomed! Not to mention women working in factories with machines that wont allow free flowing articles of clothing. Oh man, even those women mechanics who have to wear work uniforms. Doomed I say Doomed! I'm also Doomed, I have tattoos, I don't wear my piercings anymore, but that's a personal preference. I've gone to church with a foot tall mohawk and that was my regular style back then for years. Most people that see me on the streets run to the other side in fear. But that's always been the case even if I wear a suit, I end up looking like a hit man. So, guess It's all over for me. I can't serve the Lord anylonger. Since someone wants to follow the Levitcal laws, give me a call, so I can come buy your house and we'll make everything Kosher, we'll get rid of all your haines t shirts, and button ups, and suits and dresses, because they're made of two kinds of materials. We'll also put the railing around your roof. I'll go through your house and throw out your razors so your beard will be as the Lord commands. But, since I'm a man of faith, I'll give you a month to get your things in order and repent for not following the Mosaic Law so that you will not be stoned for disobiediance. And trust me I'll bring 2 or 3 witnesses. And for the love of corn, throw out that pork, and don't ever eat a supreme pizza again! I'll also bring a shovel because the Lord wan'ts us to bury our poo, not flush it! If you'd like, we'll go through all of the Laws, and just pick you apart and set you straight. Sound good? Or are you having a different view now? If you are going to hold yourself bondage to one part of the Law, you will be held accountable to the full measure of the Law.
  16. I don't agree that the people criticizing for being too legalistic are going to be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. However, If a person is in a denomination that has a dress code and want to abide by it, then they do so to the Glory of the Lord. But for that same denomination to set a code that others should follow and call it sin when they don't it's legalistic. In that same sense, if for example you are of the opinion that as a woman you should only wear dresses and this you do to glorify the Lord and you wear pants, then to you it is sin. But in the same sense, If someone is of the opinion that a woman doesn't have to wear dresses then they have a clear conscience and also do so to the glory of the Lord in their own freedom. Also, If one or other of the above mentioned causes another to have a guilty conscience then they have sinned. It's the same as what Paul talked about in 1 Corinthians 8 I agree that it would be good to have a Pastor that is encouraging the people in his church to live more holy and be separated from the world. We should be separate from the world, but outward appearance does nothing for that. Although, I have noticed that when someone comes to Christ their outward appearance changes, even if they wear the same clothes. There's almost a "clean cut" look even if they're wearing rags. There are way to many preachers that have no clue, that they don't know the word of God and I believe they're innocently leading the flock down a dangerous path. I say innocently, It should be ignorantly. But, I honestly believe they believe what ever it is they're preaching. But, just as anyone they'll be held accountable for what they teach. That's why Paul said, "Not all of you should presume to be teachers". You bring up some good points and I mostly agree.
  17. I agree. I still wonder if this is a command or a suggestion. Obviously if we meet someone who is not a believer we can't just walk away thinking, "well, can't be friends with these people" But, this is a discussion best left for another topic instead of deviating from the OP.
  18. I've been there too. The simple fact that you are remorsefull means you're okay. I thought I commited an unpardonable sin for years and years. I even intentionaly rebelled and went down a dark path. The Lord delivered me out of it and forgave everything I've ever done. It's the same with you if you repent. After Jesus died on the cross a soldier that realized what he had done went to one of the apostles and said, "What shall I do?" the apostle said, "Repent and be baptised" (I don't remember which verse or book that was,..) Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you. This means never, as long as you call on his name, as long as you believe, he will never forsake you. Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor things to come, is anything, from holiness to sinfulness Romans 7:9 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. This doesn't make it okay to sin, but,,,,, you're still in the flesh Romans 7:20 But if what I would not, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me. Yet again, not permission to sin, but,,,, you're still in the flesh Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 7 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
  19. Personaly unequally yoked isn't that big of a deal to me. I understand the complications of it, and the dangers. It all depends on the believers faith and maturity in the Lord. Caution must be used when deciding to mary someone, but that goes for anyone who is to get married. Talk to you sister, but don't go overboard with the preaching. Be very careful not to condemn her or her man. Be humble and calm, just keep planting seeds. Pray and be still. Trust the Lord to guide you and her. Surely if she does end up going to that cult the Lord will let her know the truth. Do not try to seperate them! Blessings to you!
  20. You're correct on both parts. As far as Constantine instituting the Sunday "sabbath" to me doesn't matter if it was originaly a pagan day or not. The Lord created all days and is lord of all. If you want to rest on Sunday as a sabbath no problem. It's honoring the Lord on a day that he created even if it is the first day of the week. I compare this to the rainbow. If you put a rainbow sticker on your car are you supporting homosexuality? Or are you proclaiming the promise of the Lord? Jesus never did away with the torah, He fullfilled it. "The law which was contrary to us was taken away." Why do you feel that a Sabbath is mandatory? (or do you?) If so, what about the rest of the Torah?
  21. you would be mor informed if you listened to the study above rather than sticking to one or 2 verses. No doubt. However, I try to keep things as simple as possible. As it seems to me, this is the start, the rest is details on how it's going to unfold. The rest as you mention is a much deeper discussion thnt this topic warranted in my opinion.
  22. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; It seems to me that this is exactly when the tribulations will start. Everything up to that point is the birthing pangs. Now as for a time and date,,,,, Meh, no one except our Father in Heaven.
  23. Since the Holy Spirit indwells us and we have the mind of Christ and his laws are written on our hearts......... It's only right for us to honor a day of rest for our workers and animals. Most times now days we get 2 days off a week. Some don't like those of us in the Oil Industry (when it was booming anyway) But as followers of Christ we should automaticaly think and treat our workers fairly. It's a judgement call on everyones part. Now, since the usual worship day is sunday and a worker wants to worship then they shouldn't be kept from it. In my opinion this falls under the category of "Love your neighbor"
  24. Just like with anything there are those that make it look "bad". I agree there are Pentecostal churches that are very Godly and reverent. There are also cult types too. I went to one that actually said that the Holy Spirit wasn't an actual spirit. They said, he's "more like team spirit" and always refered to him as "it". They ran around like guineas and rolled around on the floor crying an wailing, well only the women did that, the men sat in the pews. They had a guest preacher,,, He kept yelling through the mic, "The Holy Ghost has fallen! The Holy Ghost has fallen! Ask the Holy Ghost not to leave!" Unfreakinbelievable! Sadly it's these types that give the rest of the true Pentecostals a bad name. How I see things, is,,,,,,, Pentecostals are the Miricale worker part of the Christ body, while Charismatics (If true and not part of some new wave movement) are a place where other parts of the body come together. You have the hands feet fingers toes head arms and legs all in one place. This is why I like to encourage people from all churches to regularly visit other churches that preach the true word of God. We owe it to ourselves and It's what the Lord wants, for us to be one.
