  1. Welcome here! I know others who think and believe this and there is certainly no shortage of Jewish people who have this sentiment. I have myself done much research on the subject and I will say there are pros and cons, so at this point in time, I am reserving my decision. I think it certainly makes for a very interesting discussion also.
  2. "It's going to be real fun for anyone who is not a supporter," Conlon said, "[and] if cops decide to give us a hard time, we're going to lock the brakes up, we're going to stop right there, we're going to be a three lane roadblock." 'Truckers For The Constitution' Plan To Clog D.C. Beltway, Arrest Congressmen Tractor-trailer drivers will intentionally clog the inner loop of the Washington, D.C., beltway beginning on the morning of Oct. 11, according to a coordinator of the upcoming "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" rally. Organizers of the three-day ride want to call attention to a litany of trucker frustrations and express their disapproval of national political leaders. Earl Conlon, a Georgia trucker who is handling logistics for the protest, told U.S. News tractor-trailer drivers will circle the beltway "three lanes deep" as he rides with other participants to Congress to seek the arrest of congressmen for allegedly disregarding the Constitution. The truckers circling I-495 will keep the left lane open for emergency vehicles, Conlon said, but "everybody that doesn't have a supporter sticker on their window, good luck: Nobody in, nobody out." The trucks will be going the 55 mile-per-hour speed limit. More
  3. Even many atheists and non- Bible believers are good people and do good works. Sadly, I think in the above statements, Olsteen missed a golden opportunity, once again, to stress the one thing Jesus stressed when he started His ministry, Matthew 4:17 and which all of the Apostles taught in the Acts of the Apostles Repent Overall, I would rate Osteen's remarks on a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being the lowest and 10 the best as a 1. I think overall his comments were very politically correct, so as not to offend anyone.
  4. The PM of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, made this breathtaking, prophetically correct address before the UN General Assembly in NYC, before the nations of the world, quoting from the Bible, Old and New Testaments! You will be blessed by reading this. “The people of Israel have come home never to be uprooted again,” concluded Netanyahu. “I will plant them upon their soil never to be uprooted again” Quoting from the Prophet Amos in English and then in Hebrew, Netanyahu made it clear to all who are listening that no threat, nuclear or otherwise, will remove Israel from the Land. For the Lord Himself has established His people here. “The people of Israel have come home never to be uprooted again,” concluded Netanyahu. read the rest from Israel Today or at above link.
  5. Glad you solved the problem bopeep. I was going to suggest it was a problem with a speaker connection.
  6. I think there is more to RW than meets the eye. I find it odd that RW is a member of the One World Government Organization known as the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) started by David Rockefeller to promote a one world government under a new world order system. Click on the "W", and scroll down until you come to Rick Warren's name. Membership list-CFR http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/cfrall4.htm#w Mission Statement-Council of Foreign Relations
  7. I tend to think the "government shutdown" hype the Obama media is proclaiming is just that.. all hype and scare tactics to force a reaction from the public to help Obama get his way. According to this article, the "government shutdown" is only 17% shutdown. http://washingtonexaminer.com/wheres-sense-of-crisis-in-a-17-percent-government-shutdown/article/2536862
  8. So now FA you are saying that this one scripture from Hebrews in the New Testament is a warning to Jews? God does not discriminate. Sorry FA, I disagree with this statement . While the Book of Hebrews was addressed to those Hebrews considering Jesus in 70AD, and to the Hebrew Christians, this book, as all Books in the Bible, are divinely inspired and speak to everyone who reads the words, Jew and Gentile alike throughout all generations. Furthermore, I believe it is clear the scripture says nothing about the temple sacrifice system as you have said, but specifically refers to those who deliberately and willingly sin after receiving the truth about Jesus atonement for sin; then Jesus' sacrifice on the cross does not atone for their sins. Which is just one of many scriptures I have already posted that shows the once saved always saved-eternal security man made doctrine false.
  9. Blessings to you Kwik Let me say first that the OP is about Christians who "willfully" sin, and not those who repent with a sorrowful heart. Some people here do not seem to know the difference. When one repents, (or makes a willful decision to stop deliberately sinning and or turns away from sinning), then he/whe becomes a new creation in Christ. This does not mean we are perfect, because we will never, in this body of flesh, be perfect. There is only one perfect and that is Jesus. Jesus did not condemn the woman at the well, or judge her, but Jesus did tell the woman to sin no more. (repent). That is the example we are to follow. I will concur there are those who often struggle with their sin, even after repenting; and God in his mercy, grace and love for us understands our struggles, and what we are going through. Still, the struggling ones too have to still depend upon God's grace daily. Don't confuse this with deliberate willful sinning, which is what the OP is about. You mention feelings in your comments. I would also like to say that we Christians do not go by our feelings, but are led by the Spirit and His Word because feelings and emotions can be very deceptive. The Bible does speak of working out your salvation with trembling. Phil 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. With this, we must still depend upon the grace of God. That sounds like to me what you mean when you say you are in the "process of repentence."
  10. No more pain and suffering for this dear servant of our Lord. Rest in peace, Pastor Chuck.
  11. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7
  12. I live in a heavily populated Amish area. As does my brother. Their horse and buggy carriages pass by my brother's country home daily. He knows personally many Amish people and has working relationships with some. Recently one Amish couple left the Amish community (was banned) and apologized to my brother, who is born again, for what he called "using Christians." The husband said the Amish use other people by hiring them to take them places in their vehicles, to sell their goods, use other people's telephones, but don't own one, electric, etc., assisting the Amish to live off of others, while at the same time, receive big tax exemptions because they are considered a church community. This particular former Amish is now born-again and made this apology in the front of 40 other born-again Christians. You can make your own conclusions. Another odd thing.... Even though "outsiders" are not invited into their regular church meetings and services, unless you are Amish, they hold services in their homes weekly, and not a public meeting place. Yet they have a "church" tax exempt classification Personally, I think the Amish are people of good quality with good "Christian morals," outside of a few rebellious ones, but they have a belief system that does not exactly agree with what the Bible tells us about "taking the Gosepl to all nations". I have yet to hear one say or preach anything about Jesus, or tell others about Him. We are to be witnesses for Him; and their living example, though admirable, is not one that conforms to biblical standards. I am around the Amish very often and I often witness to them about Jesus and talk about Jesus in my conversation, yet they seldom respond in the same respect. I think this is odd.
  13. I believe you have convoluted the simple message. It is my understanding a believer never willfully continues in sin, but has an aversion to sin. Kind of like the idea of the new man and the new nature... As soon as a believer sins, he is confronted by Holy Spirit within, and is aware of the battleground he has just stepped on. I have not convoluted anything, FA. I'm unsure if perhaps you believe this WOF belief system? I will end this conversation with you as I believe it does nothing to honor God and His Word.
  14. Many times people marry an unsaved person thinking they're in love and that in time, the saved person will get the other one saved. Or both are unsaved at the time of marriage and one spouse will get saved afterwards. Unfortunately, what usually happens is that the saved person ends up falling away or the marriage is in constant conflict. It's a really bad situation and only brings strife into the relationship and marriage, and often times the marriage ends up in the divorce court.
  15. I am simply quoting scripture, Floatingaxe. As I have throughout this dialogue. I believe Scripture disagrees with you.
  16. Well I believe Jesus is talking about people who leave the faith. All scripture is Holy Spirit inspired. I believe you are making up an idea that is not scriptural. To me, the writer of Hebrews tells us the same thing but worded differently in Hebrews 10:26-32
  17. God's word is what it is. I believe the scriptures apply to people who claim they are saved. There is really nothing to debate in the above texts as scripture speaks for itself, and interprets itself, but some have a hard time understanding and will always find something somewhere to change what the scriptures says. Some it seems would rather try to "win a debate" when there is no debate, than to take scripture to mean what it says. Yes, I believe it is God's word. However, you have been quoting Ezekiel, which is addressing those under the Law. We are living under the New Covenant. People all over the world claim to be saved, but we are not the ones that need to be convinced. Only God looks on the heart. All we can discern from in a person by who claims to be saved is their spiritual fruit. If one is truly saved, he is firmly held in the Master's grip. IMO there is no debate about that. As to this underlined... Again, go back and read what I wrote. I will write it again here. Jesus often quoted from the "Old Testament" in the New, because He is the law in the New Testament.
  18. -Kwik The woman in the OP has not repented. Is willful, deliberate sinning, after being brought to your attention, called "in the process of repentence?" If so, where is this scriptural? Should we believe God's Word, or man? Thanks
  19. It seems here you are equating normal Christian who have the typical struggles in their walk with what God calls reprobates...people who have not had a regenerate spirit in them. It seems too you also are equating the Gospel with the way God dealt with people under the Law... Which is not the same in my opinion.
  20. God does not wink at or overlook repeated sinning. His word confirms this fact. It is better to follow what scripture teaches on this and all matters despite what some think or preach. From Ezekiel 18, the prophet Ezekiel tells us "But when the righeous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned; in his trespass that he hath tresspassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die." vs. 24 And in vs. 26, the prophet Ezekiel tells us "When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die." There are those who will say but this is the "Old Testament", which Jesus Himself fulfilled; but read on in the New Testament, Jesus Himself tells us in Luke's Gospel Ch. 9 vs. 62 "No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God" Basically, Jesus is saying the same thing the prophet Ezekiel tells us only in a different way. The writer of Hebrews tells us the same thing but worded differently in Hebrews 10:26-32 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins. But a certain fearful looking for ofjujdgment and firey indignation, which shall devourthe adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, sujppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of Grace?" For we know him that hath said, Vengence belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fallinto the hands of the living God. But call to remembrance the former days in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions... Note all of the above scriptures are speaking of person who calls himself "saved" or "have accepted Jesus"...hmmm...
  21. Pastor Saeed Abedini Leads 30 to Christ in Iranian Prison The wife of the American pastor imprisoned in Iran for his Christian faith says her husband remains bold for Jesus Christ in prison, Charisma News reports. Pastor Saeed Abedini's wife, Naghmeh, recently spoke to students at Liberty University about her family's plight. She said in spite of being tortured and asked to deny his faith in Christ and return to Islam, Pastor Saeed has been a light for Jesus in Evin Prison, one of the worst in the world. "They've told him many times that they would free him and allow him to return to our family, the kids and I, if he would deny his Christian faith, and he's stood strong in that prison. He's led many, many — over 30 people — to Christ in that prison," she told the audience. To watch Naghmeh Abedini's full speech, click here. There's More! Iranian President Crosses Paths With Wife of Jailed Pastor Saeed Abedini Naghmeh Abedini happened to be staying in the same New York hotel as Rouhani, though she and her lawyer from the American Center for Law and Justice, Tiffany Barrans, had not intentionally booked a room there. However, while reading news reports, they realized they would be in the same hotel as Rouhani and prayed they might cross paths with him. As Belz met with Abedini and Barrans in the hotel lobby for an interview, Barrans noticed Iranian security milling about, and then American and Iranian security becoming more active. "Something's happening," Barrans said. A few moments passed. "That’s him, that's him," she said, as Rouhani walked by, less than 10 feet from Abedini. Read More About This Exciting Encounter
  22. The mark itself is a compromise on loving the neighbour, and a compromise on loving the Lord our God, with all our heart. Whatever happens, never stop thinking of love. Jesus tells us to endure until the end: But he that shall endure until the end, the same shall be saved Matthew 24:12 endure ὑπομένω hupomenō hoop-om-en'-o From G5259 and G3306; to stay under (behind), that is, remain; figuratively to undergo, that is, bear (trials), have fortitude, persevere: - abide, endure, (take) patient (-ly), suffer, tarry behind.
  23. Hi WillowWood I believe dogs are a gift from God. I am partial to doxies, I admit, because I have one and doxies display some of the attributes of God's character, imo. Not withstanding their intelligence, their love is unconditional, they are always glad to see you, and are very sad when you leave them along, they are always there waiting at the door for you to return after you have left them, and no matter how mad you get at them, they are eager to forgive and love you.
  24. awww..... too bad you couldn't get to see the video. Check on You Tube to see if there is one yu may be able to view. It was really something to see how this dog dropped himself down square in front of the baby, keeping baby from crawling into the sea
  25. I tried to put this story in "Most Interesting News Developments" but I had trouble getting in so I am putting this awesome story here. Anyway, dogs are known to be the hero in a lot of situations. We have seeing eye dogs for the blind, guard dogs, and some of us even own a dog simply for companionship and loyalty. Dogs are easily trained and can be fierce protectors, earning them the nickname of “man’s best friend.” And then there are the canine helpers who go out of their way to save our lives. More here
