Too many unanswered questions to ride rough shod over Assad
nikki1 replied to JohnD's topic in World News
I agree JohnDB... Very good analysis And just 4 years ago, flip-flop John Kerry and the rest of the Obama Adm. were real cozy with Assad as the picture in this link shows. While President of Syria Assad has been inplicated in international terror attacks and haboring terror groups in Syria against Israel, and is a close ally of Iran, I have never read of any reports of him ever using WMD or CW on his people.or anyone else. Prior to taking the lead in Syria, Assad studied medicine in Damascus and became a medical doctor; in London he specialized in ophthamology, having no interest in politics, when being called back to Damascus when his brother died. Measles cases put Texas megachurch under scrutiny

bopeep: Did you read what I wrote? If you want to go with what the CDC wrote, you are discounting what is said... unless you didn't read it I said As one who has audited medical reports, I can tell you that the reports are not accurate when it comes to admission diagnosis and treatment diagnosis and final diagnosis. And based upon other research involving the CDC and other government agencies I have done and comparing it with Independent survey agencies, I take whatever these government agencies say with a grain of salt. The CDC link you gave does not factor in all of the other criteria I gave, which would lower deaths from laboratory flu dramatically. In fact, many people can have a laboratory diagnosis of a flu virus, recover while in the hospital, and die from heart failure or COPD or some other pre-existing chronic problem. This would not be shown on the CDC report. or the final diagnosis. Regarding you links on flu shots, I am well aware of what the gov't. agencies have to say and carry out a vigorous campaign in my area warning people of the dangers of flu shots and govt. propaganda. That was my point in my very first paragraph. Which I think you missed, While rare, GBS has increased in recent times with those receiving the flu shot. Most doctors I know won't get the flu shot. They, like me, are informed consumers and just say no. -
A few drop of eucalyptus essential oil in about 2 quarts of warm water in a steam humidifier does wonders for my hubby. Just hold your head over the warm (not too hot) steam vapor and inhale it. Do this at least three times a week until the problem is resolved. Eucalyptus oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties in it.

It is rather amazing that you know personally two of the 5000 or so people in the country that acquire GBS each year. My wife is also an RN and she is more committed to us getting the vaccine than ever before. but then again, with 35000 plus people dying a year from the flu, it seems the flu is a much larger danger than GBS What you don't realize is that people don't "die from the flu"; the majority of those who do die after having flu like symptoms are given a diagnosis of flu, but in most cases those people are elderly with many underlying disease process to begin with and their immune system is over taxed because of these disease processes. Such as HIV victims, Cancer victims, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and many thousands of others who already have underlying lung diseases, the list goes on and on. A diagnosis of flu on the hospital medical record is a "catch all" diagnosis that covers many already underlying ailments the patient already has. An elderly person with COPD will most likely have a weak heart and will ultimately die of heart failure even though they presented to the hospital with flu like symptoms. Patients come to the hospital with flu like symptoms all the time who end up having a final diagnosis of pneumonia, or some other form of exacerbation from COPD but are still classified as "the flu" on medical records. This is not factored in when CDC, NHI and other health reporting surveys are carried out. One of my close friends who acquired GBS after the flu shot lives in California and emailed me about it. We have been friends sincve high school. My other close friend attended the same Christian fellowship I did. This was seven year ago for her diagnosis, and she can no longer work because of the residue debilitating effects the disease left her with. I do not believe it is a coincidence that I happen to have two close personal friends who acquired GBS after a flu injection. But amazing, yes. Our God is an amazing God who puts us in the right place at the right time to help others. -

While the media tries to downplay the risk of Gillian Barre Syndrome, this is a life threatening and debilitating rare neuro muscuular disorder and has been acquired more after receiving the flu shot in recent time. This is no small concern. In my professional nursing career, I have witnessed many people who came through the ER with Gillian Barre Syndrome symptom, some who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit on a respirator because their breathing muscles were paralyzed, after receiving the flu shot, and were diagnosed with Gillian Barre Syndrome. This has troubled me deeply. I have had two close friends develop the disease after having the flu shot, who prior to were normal healthy adults. In both cases, the doctors of my two friends insist it wasn't from the shots. As a professional nurse, I refuse to give a flu shot to anyone because of this, and my own personal research on vaccines. While pharmaceutical companies and doctors in America also downplay the role of Gillian Barre's relation to flu shots and others, (in the doctors case, for fear of lawsuits) the package insert literature (which you as the victim getting the shot never see) warns against acquiring Gillian Barre Syndrome from the shot. Like the children in Africa who became paralyzed after receiving menningitis injetions, Gillian Barre is a paralyzing disease. Even with all of the warnings, people still refuse to accept the truth. H1N1 Flu Vaccine Tied To Higher Risk of Guillain-Barre syndrome Though most vaccinations are generally thought of as safe by health officials, people who got the 2009 H1N1 vaccine may have had a higher risk of getting Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS). Researchers discovered that 77 people developed GBS up to 91 days after receiving the "swine flu" vaccine, amounting to 1.6 extra cases of GBS per 1 million people vaccinated. The new study appeared March 12 in The Lancet, and results were derived from 23 million people in the U.S. who received the H1N1 vaccine and responded to a survey. An autoimmune disorder, GBS damages parts of the nerves and causes the body's immune system to attack itself. It can happen at any age, but it is most common in men and women between 30 and 50, the National Institutes of Health reported. There is no known trigger or cause, but it normally follows a minor infection like a lung or gastrointestinal infection, or after surgery. Read more at link. -------------------------------------------------- Another interesting observation I witnessed from people I personally know; of those who got the flu shot, all became sick in various degrees with the flu and those who did not get the flu shot did not get the flu at all. -

Many informed people do not trust pharmaceutical companies and their vaccines any more because of reports like this. This is just one of many I have read. Minimum of 40 Children Paralyzed After New Meningitis Vaccine - See more On December 20, 2012, a vaccination tragedy hit the small village of Gouro, located in northern Chad, Africa. According to the newspaper La Voix, out of five hundred children who received the new meningitis vaccine MenAfriVac, at least 40 of them between the ages of 7 and 18 have become paralyzed. Those children also suffered hallucinations and convulsions. Since this report, the true extent of this tragedy is coming to light, as parents of these vaccinated children have reported yet more injuries. The authorities in the area are shaken, as citizens set fire to a sanitary administration vehicle in a demonstration of their frustration and anger at the government’s negligence.[1] - See more at: http://vactruth.com/2013/01/06/paralyzed-after-meningitis-vaccine/#sthash.J9vcDRtg.dpuf At least 50 African children paralyzed after receiving Bill Gates-backed meningitis vaccine NaturalNews) Bill and Melinda Gates have been on a crusade for at least the past decade to vaccinate every single child on the planet. And one of their primary geographical targets has been the continent of Africa, where poor sanitations and lack of clean water have created conditions in which diseases like meningitis and malaria run rampant. But rather than try to meet these basic needs, the multi-billionaires and their many allies have instead thrust vaccines on indigenous populations as the solution, which has in turn sparked a wave of paralysis among Africa's younger populations. The perplexing question I am asking myself now is why is Obama bothering to go to Congress now after sending and positioning American ships in the Persian Gulf and broad casting an attack plan? Here we have a President that's wanted an imminent attack on the Syrian Regime, positioning American ships in the Gulf while the media announces war in 4 days. Now, after the fact, Obama decides to check with Congress first, who will be back sometime in September, after 100 or so demanded that he do so. It's quite obvious Obama has already made up his mind, even before the UN weapons inspectors give their findings. What if Congress says no, then what? Will he write an Executive Order? -

Four US destroyers - USS Gravely, USS Ramage, USS Barry and USS Mahan - are in the eastern Mediterranean, equipped with cruise missiles. The missiles can also be fired from submarines, but the US Navy does not reveal their locations • Airbases at Incirlik and Izmir in Turkey, and in Jordan, could be used to carry out strikes • Two aircraft carriers - USS Nimitz and USS Harry S Truman are in the wider region • French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is currently in Toulon in the western Mediterranean • French Rafale and Mirage aircraft can also operate from Al-Dhahra airbase in the UAE http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-23916752 There will not, in my opinion be a land invasion from sea. If of course any intervention is actually carried out. I have read that Jordan refused to allow any strikes from Jordan -

In my opinion, coming by sea will be very risky for our troops. Iran will shut off the Strait of Hormuz If the conflict spills over into Israel, American troops will run into an ambush, (Just my opinion) Because we cannot rely on what Obama and the media tells us ref. the strike plans, we will just have to wait and see. This entire strike is to help the Muslim Brotherhood, who is losing in Syria. The narrow Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the most, if not the most strategic strait of water on the planet. Through its waters, in giant ocean-going tankers, passes much of the oil from Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Bordered by Iran, Oman's Musandam Peninsula and the United Arab Emirates, this stretch of water is of obvious military significance, and subsequently, the U.S. Navy and others patrol its waters. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5a/Hormuz_map.png/250px-Hormuz_map.png Red arrow shows Strait of Hormuz -

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says he has decided that the United States should take military action against Syria in response to a deadly chemical weapons attack. But he says he will seek congressional authorization for the use of force. He says congressional leadership plans to hold a debate and a vote as soon as Congress comes back in September. Obama says he has the authority to act on his own but believes it is important for the country to have a debate. Full Story I wonder where Obama thinks he has the authority to act on his own without Congressional approval.....

Congressional resistance to U.S. military retaliation following Syria's apparent use of nerve gas on its own people appears to be escalating. Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., in an exclusive Newsmax interview, says any plan to attack Syria must be submitted to Congress for approval. "The president is not a dictator," Wolf tells Newsmax. "He cannot just unilaterally decide to do this, because the threat is not to the United States." Wolf is one of 140 members of the House, including 21 Democrats, who have signed onto a letter to President Obama advising him that he has a constitutional duty to seek a green light from Congress before launching any hostilities. The letter was written by Rep. Scott Rigell, R-Va., whose district includes the major Navy air station in Norfolk, Va. The president also received a letter Wednesday from House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, urging him to "make the case to the American people and Congress for how potential military action will secure American national security interests, preserve America's credibility, deter the future use of chemical weapons, and, critically, be part of our broader policy and strategy." Obama Backs Away From Speedy Syria Strike, After UK Turnaround

Hi ncn: Thank you for your links Thankfully, the Labour Party was on the ball and called for more evidence and threw Obama's idea of an imminent attack on the Assad Regime without proof that it was Assad who used chemical weapons out the door. After reading some interaction on The Guardian Politics Live Blog Labour Amendment on Syria, at 11:23 a.m. mark, the Labour Party spells out their requirements for intervention in Syria:; it looks as if it will be based upon the findings of the weapons inspectors, and the recommendations of the U.N. Security Council, and another vote in the House. Humanitarian reasons is basically the same as Responsibility To Protect under the UN Mandate. This amendment leaves open the option for military action in Syria if the below conditions are met: Labour amendment on Syria: This House expresses its revulsion at the killing of hundreds of civilians in Ghutah, Syria on 21 August 2013; believes that this was a moral outrage; recalls the importance of upholding the worldwide prohibition on the use of chemical weapons; makes clear that the use of chemical weapons is a grave breach of international law; agrees with the UN Secretary General that the UN weapons inspectors must be able to report to the UN Security Council and that the Security Council must live up to its responsibilities to protect civilians; supports steps to provide humanitarian protection to the people of Syria but will only support military action involving UK forces if and when the following conditions have been met: The UN weapons inspectors, upon the conclusion of their mission in the Eastern Ghutah, being given the necessary opportunity to make a report to the Security Council on the evidence and their findings, and confirmation by them that chemical weapons have been used in Syria; The production of compelling evidence that the Syrian regime was responsible for the use of these weapons; The UN Security Council having considered and voted on this matter in the light of the reports of the weapons inspectors and the evidence submitted; There being a clear legal basis in international law for taking collective military action to protect the Syrian people on humanitarian grounds; That such action must have regard to the potential consequences in the region, and must therefore be legal, proportionate, time-limited and have precise and achievable objectives designed to deter the future use of prohibited chemical weapons in Syria; aan That the Prime Minister reports further to the House on the achievement of these conditions so that the House can vote on UK participation in such action. This House further notes that such action relates solely to efforts to deter the use of chemical weapons and does not sanction any wider action in Syria. -
Obama Backs Away From Speedy Syria Strike, After UK Turnaround

Thank you for that bit of information as I am not familiar with British Parliament laws. If indeed the UN calls for a resolution to attack the Assad Regime as they did in Libya under the Responsibility To Protect Mandate, then what happens? Doesn't the UN override British Parliament when it comes to Responsibility to Protect? -
Obama Backs Away From Speedy Syria Strike, After UK Turnaround
nikki1 replied to nikki1's topic in World News
There is a way that Cameron and Obama can bypass Parliament and Congress (by the looks of it; Obama has no intention of calling upon Congress to seek approval to attack the Assad Regime as Congress is in recess now), and this may just be what Obama is planning down the road. It' comes under the UN mandate Responsibility To Protect -
No wonder the world's leaders laughs at America's leadership and doesn't take anything seriously that comes out of the Obama administration. Times Of Israel President Barack Obama on Wednesday evening appeared to back away from the idea of an imminent strike on Syria, saying multiple times in an interview broadcast on several US networks, “I have not made a decision.” Obama spoke after the UK clearly backtracked from Prime Minister David Cameron’s earlier supportive stance, with the Conservative-led government indicating it would now wait several days for a report by UN inspectors looking into last Wednesday’s alleged chemical attack on Syrian civilians by the forces of President Bashar Assad, and for Parliament to vote on the matter.

Kinda looks like the U.N. inspection will be just "going through the motions" and no matter what the UN Security Council says, including Russia and China, the western powers have already made up their minds for an attack on the Assad Regime. I am beginning to think there is much more involved in this scheme than meets the eye and I think it has to do with Israel blitzing Iran's nukes. The WMD attack by "someone" in Syria is provoking (an excuse ) western powers to attack Assad Regime, this will trigger an attack on Israel by Syria or Iran or both via Hezballah and other terror groups in Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza, and the West Bank, Israel will strike back and take out Iran's nukes with a blitz barrage attack. If this happens, by this time, the entire region will be exploding.

The Fort Hood Terrorist Gets Paid $275,000 By the Military to Sit in Jail, While His Victims Get Nothing I have no problem with this cold-blooded murderer receiving the justice he deserves. Numbers 35:30-31. He may think he is a martyr, but we who put our faith in Jesus Christ and His eternal Word know what awaits him without repentence and seeking the mercy of Jesus Christ to save his eternal soul. Without repentence, there is no salvation. Luke 13:3 I pray he seeks the forgiver of sins, Jesus Christ, before he is executed.

UN To US: Wait 4 Days For Team To Complete Investigation Before Deciding On Military Strike “It is essential to establish the facts. A U.N. investigation team is now on the ground to do just that. Just days after the attack, they have collected valuable samples and interviewed victims and witnessesThe team needs time to do its job,” Ban said, according to CBS News, adding that a report needs to be sent to the U.N. Security Council. More at above link

In his final plea for a rare military death sentence, the lead prosecutor assured jurors earlier Wednesday that Hasan would "never be a martyr" despite his attempt to tie the attack to religion. "He is a criminal. He is a cold-blooded murderer," Col. Mike Mulligan said. "This is not his gift to God. This is his debt to society. This is the cost of his murderous rampage." More

And that's the problem with striking Syria - is the actual criminal the one being punished? Well, Assad is a criminal based on his past sponsoring of terror group activities in the ME and against Israel especially, and does deserve to be punished. But I think it is wrong to blame the Assad Regime without knowing if it was he or the alQaeda affiliated rebels who are the culprits in this situation. I think western powers are jumping the gun on blaming Assad, and if they do attack the Assad Regime based upon guilt without proof, there will be severe consequences for the entire world to pay.
