OK first of all I have been looking for a better church life and have been not very succesfull in finding a church recently, anyway I have been going to a bible study with some friends of mine, who realy seem like great people. Tonight the question was raised about baptism being the completion of our salvation. Since many times in the bible people were baptized right after yhey accepted Christ. I totally disagread and felt like an outcast but I had to speak up on this matter. I believe that salvation comes when we accept Jesus, then we must be baptized as a sighn of new life in Christ. So I was wondering what people here think?

well I dont think that the Christians who threw rocks acted like Christians. As far as I know we fight not against flesh and blood but the powers of darkness in the air. I paraphraised a scripture but u get my point. Sometimes people with are believes dont get that we have constaintly through out the years used violence when we should have been using prayer, and goodness. Now I can accept violence if we are protecting life and liberty, but not over a nonesence cerimony that just now aggravated these people even more.

Yep we do have a socialist president. i am not a socialist. Also Obama is not a communist he is an idealist socialist he means well but his policy is well Canadian. Hows those olympics going for ya A.

The Benedictine monks only spoke when it was of importance. I always admired monks a peacefull life prayer and song just a humble life. Some even make there own beer. But know marriage and tuff speaking rules ruined it for me.

I would Also say the Holy Spirit, God is directly watching over us even big kids like me. I forget that so much, It would definetly increase my faith.

You know about there being just demons I dont know if we can prove that. I was always taught that growing up that only demons are the spirits that roam the earth. I dont know if that is altogether true. I have know prove for or against I am saying there could be a possiblity of other forms of spirits or past human spirits that are on earth. King saul summoned the spirit of sammuel and God commanded the jews not to summan spirits intentionally. Maybe there is a reason for this. Of course we say that it was a demon that Saul summuned but the bible does not say that.

Sounds like the portrait of the American household depressed, in fear and wont reach out to Jesus. I am sorry for your friend. Life is a struggle with or without God but she has God he loves her. If not you wouldnt be there, even when we are faithless he is faithful.

I dont know the intentions of these men. I guess all we can look at is the outcome of these individuals, if some come to Christ or are built up spiritually then good.

So then we can do know wrong because whatever we do is God's will. Yet we do things that are displeasing to God yet he knows we are going to do them. Maybe you could look at life as many do as a gamble or rolling the dice God knows if your ganna hit a black jack or if your going to bust, but you dont. Know one holds a gun to your head when your at the casino telling you to gamble and God dosnt make us do anything, he knows the outcomes.

His will our will, or do we have a will? I dont know. We may think we know but, I dont think that we realy know, if we have free will or not. I meen we can try to explain it well for both sides. I will stand on the side that I am iggnorant of my own will.

I think that when findnig a woman or man as a Christian, we want to find someone of our same beliefs, but it is a tuff road we have emotions and feelings and when we do not find a Christian woman or man, we can be easily led astray. I ofcourse I am speaking from my own personal experience. I have been blessed to have found a good Christian woman, although I know it is not easy. escpecially in a world that focuses on getting a education and good job. I say this because men and woman dont think about marriage alot of times. Sex is easily justified outside of marriage if not just for our own human nature. I dont know about young people anymore but as an adult it is extremely hard to stay sex free before marriage. I guess you need to be a strong person and hope to find someone of your own same convictions.

gnosis is one who seeks wisdom I am not a Gnostic cultist, but one who accepts the bible and what it says about God, I also believe that since the beginning of a formal organized church we have lost many of the spiritual asspects. I have studied the gnostic scriptures which have recently been found. I am on a spiritual journey.

Yea I think like many denominations, they have different traditions and believes Jesus never said you had to believe everything the church says, and which church or denomination is the closest to how it realy was shortly after the ressurection of Christ. I hold believing in Jesus Christ came in flesh died on the cross and rose again by the power of the Holy Spirit, knowing that he took your sins. There is so much knowledge we dont have and maybe too much that is not true we poses. it was hundreds of years before the bible was even put together and, that by the command of a emporer who had been supposedly saved. How much about Jesus do we not know? Anyway I am non denominational I cant see for the best of me fidning a denomination that I truly like or would want to commit too. I am more or less a gnostic Christian.

I think that many ancient peoples had a great amount of knowledge and technology that we have lost throughout the years. Maybe we should start looking more at there societies. Especially the possibility of Atlantis.

I have that book. the Author seems to be undecided if it is a cult or not. I dont like works oriented churches or churches that have dress codes and what not.

I saw the movie and thought it was great. Yes it was violent but it had some interesting things in it.
